A few years ago, I took a tour of the Midway, a carrier anchored at San Diego. They had a corsair there and a 93-year-old corsair veteran standing next to it. I spoke to him and asked if he was scared landing on a carrier in the corsair (they had their problems). He said at 18, no ... at 93, yes.
hehe, i can see that difference. At 18 you think nothing can kill you.

More enginepower, more performance, more better ;) It's back to 50 Cals for this one, but thats not nessesarily a problem. This is a great plane. I might've missed you mentioning this, but the Corsairs' landing gear actually has an extremely high rip speed. The early variants might not have it, but you can actually use the landing gear as an impromptu airbrake if needed.

All of the corsairs have the dive brake landing gear, it was an intentional design feature
nice work as always jengar i apologize for not commenting for a while it turns out i moved from the mountains to the beach lol what are the odds, just wanted to say thanks for reviewing my all time favorite corsair when i was a rookie while the F4U4B will always be my prime corsair it just cant beat my infamous dogfights and the history and experience I've had in the F4U 4 and of course.....gull wings goon brrrt :D

@@jengar6258 Sadly, fantastic as the F4U-4B is, it suffers from having to be uptiered and face not just jets, but things like Su-11s specifically.

I remember when I started the USA line.... After struggling with soviet and German lines then I get to this. And I can say that's the EASY MODE of WT. Falled in love with p-51 and much over all the widowmaker (p-61?)

Can you please do a full tier III run down of the American planes and possibly follow up with a Tier IV after? Just about to get to tier III and have no idea what to play.
Rank II is up, rank IV is being worked on!
If you have time try revisit the corsair in french tree Jengar (the F4U-7), it has the same engine as F4U-4 in this video, but in recent update french's corsair have way more power.

I actually prefer this plane over the coursair with the cannons because these guns are a lot more accurate than the 20 mm
I fly this plane more than any other in sim battles. Have more than 5 times the kills in the 4B than I do the runner up for the most kills. Btw it now sits at a dam 5.7 BR. Still rock house with that baby though.
Hello jengar, nice vid but you hadnt used the corsair gear as airbrakes purposefully? In case you dont know, its gears can hold like 800km, so they work as airbrakes

I have no time for random flyouts. I fly with my squadron or alone. Couple of hours here, an hour there. Best way to fly with me and likeminded ppl is joining my squadron.
Pro tip: In the F4U -4 or -4B if you can ringfight, do it at the hard as possible angle. The engine power will keep you fast throughout the whole turn, and after a bit the other plane will faulter or break off giving you their six
ringfight, now thats a term i wasnt familiar with yet. do you mean a sustained turn with that?
Tracers are the best belts. For any m2s and m3s with all apit rounds tracers are always best imo they are armor piercing and incinerator rounds so they do everything you could want a 50 cal to do

The f4u-4 is a nice plane with better performance and did saw some action from late 1944 to 1945 and later used as a fighter bomber until the end of the Korean War but it’s last fight was not over with the famous soccer war against the usaaf p-51d in South America

I have the F4U4B with the cannons. I find it hard to aim because it pitches down when I fire. Is the 50cal version better?
yes, same performance, and 4.7 instead of 6.0
the F4U-4B has 500 to 200HP more depending on the altitude the performance isn't the same at all
@@DEFYN you're right actually, i checked the engine power with the wrong plane. I made a mistake, i guess that bellyflu is not helping my brainpower.

@@Metrallaroja not even sure mate, i've had the bellyflu for the past 4 days, i've been living in a fog of tiredness. It might even be possible that i compared it with the same plane in a different lineup, by clicking a different one from where my 4B is, thinking it was just that. just quickly glancing over the engine stats without checking the planename.

I don’t understand why the f4u 1c is at 4.7 because it loses too much speed and only has good guns. The f4u 4 is way more potent in performance

@@jengar6258 Firstly the guns. Hellcat has 6 50 cal mgs without cannons. Also, the front of the aircraft, the engine, looks very similar to the hellcats engine.
P 47 n15 4.7 is bad for me I dont know how goof is for you but for me p47 they dont figh well now as most engagement are low attitudes but I don't know I neve see you flying that ome

What distance is best to set guns to for the F4U 4 ???
I like to use 600m for the mix of short and long rang ability you get with that.

F4U-4B have a lot more HP than this 4.7 br plane + have single stage supercharger, this plane have 3 stages of superchargers + dual speed meaning is much better at high altitude, but 4B should be better on the deck
i know, i made a mistake comparing it to a corsair i thought was the 4B, i'm put corrections in the description and my pinned comment. Bellyflu tiredness isnt good for the brain.
Trying this based on your rank iii review and this thing really isn't fun to play. Any decent player in just about any plane at 4.7 or even lower will wreck this plane. You can't really do anything against Yak-3s, La-7s, 109s or even FWs if they know what they're doing. All the while you have to run on the most overheating-prone engine in the match. I really tried to make this one work, but every match you have to side climb like a mofo and your team is 90% dead by the time you're at an altitude to do anything useful, assuming there's no 109s floating above you already.

Cheating is for loosers son, and i'm not that. Cheating defeats the purpose of this game. Which is, excelling at the subtelties of this game. Aside from that, even if gaijin would give out these god powers you're talking about (which dont exist), i would be way to unimportant for them to give it to me.
