  • Trying New Equipment To See Which Way Works Best
I am growing my athletic field service so that means bigger and faster equipment if I want to stay super efficient. Testing out which way is going to be faster-transferring material to a field.

I love the way that red clay looks freshly graded. It’s going to look phenomenal once the grass comes out of dormancy.

I played tons of baseball as a kid and love my Oriole’s went to hundred of O’s games when I lived in Baltimore. I still love baseball. One thing I never understood is why the infield dirt doesn’t go from home to first and third base to home plate? All the fields I played on where just like the MLB fields with exception to artificial turf in the 70’s through today. What is the purpose?

PETE i'm going to tell you a trick we use up north to keep snow from sticking to shovels and snow plows and dump boxes of dumper trucks doing snow removal..... WAX $1 store candles melted with a heat gun (glorified hair dryer but don't wreck your wifes' 👿💣🔥💥☠) melt the candle as you go across the box and sides dragging it as you go, doesn't have to e perfect like the clay on your ball field you're getting the bulk in the area where you will spread it better with a drag tool in this case a squeegee window wipe shower squeegee remelt the bulk wax you applied and spread it to all your exposed metal surfaces. i like doing this to snow equips in the hot july sun so i don't have to work so hard and the wax liquifys on it's own from the heat and the sun light.
option #2 cooking spray for when you are in a hurry don't have time or a part of equipment became sticky last time you used it make sure equip surfaces to be coated are clean first, just like a frying pan and eggs.
#3 if you like to get greasy, or have a spare pig laying around some where: Crisco apply moderately with a brush or car wash glove.
these last 2 have shorter nonsitck duration than the wax which gets into the pours of the metal and paint but wax in the hot summer will wash off in sunlight/heat which is why i put my snow equips into a cool indoor shed for storage until winter
bonus is they help repel rust from forming extending your paint life. i also do this for my salting /de-icing equips and it kind of works for fertilizers too to prevent that rusting action, but i usually go with poly bins and spreading discs or aluminum.
stainless steel works for awhile but never lasts an entire winter before it starts rusting.
