This…this is the one. I love this! This is why she deserves more recognition! She’s the epitome of longevity! This is outstanding how she can still belt in the 5th octave! It crazy how she can still go into to the 5th octave let alone belt into it! I love this lady, the icon, this trailblazer, thee Patti LaBelle!

Patti has always been a dramatic soprano but during the Labelle years, she developed an otherworldly chest voice and the ability to create harmonies out of thin air. As a solo artist, she had no limit or vocal equal and since she heard all the parts in her head (because she sang lead and middle voice in Labelle; sometimes both parts during a song) and could move effortlessly from full belt to chest and to her head register and (she perfected her vocal slide in the 80s with the song, Over the Rainbow) nothing could contain her. We saw her metamorphosis at the Apollo as a vocal beast and she has never come down. She is the consummate artist (her stage presence, drag, and 5-octave range know no equal). The world will remember her as the MJ (Michael Jordan, and Michael Jackson of voices: There is Patti Labelle and then there is everybody else.
I thank God every day for this woman. I thank God for her continued work, voice, and fight to keep that gift working. I thank God for what ever comes out of her mouth and continues to bless us every day.
I was just talking about this yesterday !!!’ Her head voice will drown out any of the biggest sopranos of today. ! Jennifer Hudson, ledisi, Karen Clark !!!! Maybe not her chest voice but if they both go for a high note at the same time you’d hear Pattis head voice over any of theirs
