  • Are you a Les Paul fan boy like me? Let's dive into the world of Gibson SGs in this video. This has always been an area of the guitar world I have wanted to explore and a guitar that I wanted to own and love...but I just never found many that appealed to me (with the exception of my Gibson SG Junior, which I regret selling every single day.) Until now? Perhaps. #SGGuitar #LesPaulLove #GuitarEnthusiast

Thanks for that sweet solo and sensual B-Roll, per usual! SGs are definitely a weird guitar but they are really really cool once you get used to their unique feel. Great video bro beans.

Always a pleasure! lol. They truly are unique pieces of wood.

I love the way they look and your video definitely makes me want one but I've never found "mine".
It was the same with telecasters, until one day I tried a player plus Nashville Tele.
The one with the strap pick up in the middle.
    Loved it.
    Bought it

You gotta just be patient and try all that you can. I really feel like this is "my" SG. They are so fickle and different.
I'm the opposite with Teles. Can't seem to find one that suits me.

At first I was like "wait, is he doing a Rock You Like A Hurricane cover?!" Loved that mixed track. And love an SG. I've never noticed the "neck shoulder/binding" thing you mentioned between an Epiphone and Gibson, but I've also never compared similar models next to each other. hmmm

Funny you say that, I thought the same thing when I wrote it. 😂
Yeah, man, try an Epiphone and Gibson (specially an SG, but the Epi Slim Taper on LPs as well) side by side and you'll feel the difference. It's not SUPER pronounced, but enough in a way that I notice it and just don't care for it.

I actually have the opposite fan problem in the sense that i always gravitate to SGs but just can't find a Les Paul that really does it for me. And that's not because of the neck half of the guitar, but usually the body ergonomics. Sitting down with a Paul always feels like a foreign world compared to my SGs.

I find the Les Paul body extremely comfortable, personally, but I also see where it's awkward for some people when comparing to the SG. Interesting view from the other side of the fence!

I have owned several Gibson LP’s, presently only own one. It sounds amazing and I love playing it from time to time but 99% of the time I go to grab a guitar it is one of my Gibson SG’s

Ive been an SG guy for 20 years. Last year broke my leg jumping off stage at the end of a show. Lost 80 lbs and found that now I don’t have a belly, I LOVE les paul studios. They are as light as a normal guitar. And feel like an SG , but different. I usually do 2 shows in a weekend, will play one of my SG’s at one show, and the Les paul at the other

I recently got a ‘99 SG standard in ebony that’s had a life, loads of wear and mods but it’s got a real vibe. I’m absolutely with you on the neck, I had a 2018 standard previously with a slim taper neck and I really didn’t like it, it didn’t feel very stable, I’d pull it sharp just holding onto it. The ‘99 is not a chunky neck but it’s definitely a fuller more rounded neck and it’s so much better. I typically prefer the cherry ‘61 style SG’s but damn that ‘99 is good. Vid on my channel if you fancy checking it out.

I have both 2021 high end Epiphones and Gibsons i prefer my Epiphones over Gibson by a country mile

I am generally like that myself, but this Gibson SG feels better than most Epiphones I have tried.

I want to add, play it with a STRAP standing up before you buy it. Ive been lucky all mine are good. But ive played plenty of neck divers in stores.
If yours ended up being a neck diver; you could have sold it and made your money back, or more

I've not ever had much of a problem with neck dive on SGs. Although, it has never really bothered me all that much, but you make a good point!

I only paid a little over $1000 after tax and all. Not a bad deal at all for what it is and what I have seen them for otherwise!
