Honda HR-V: How to Use the Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™)

- The Honda HR-V CMBS is designed to alert drivers when it determines the potential for a frontal collision and, if one is imminent, to apply the brakes to mitigate the severity of impact. This video can tell you how the system works and interacts with the driver, as well as how to adjust the distance from a detected vehicle at which it will begin to issue alerts. Plus, there are instructions for turning the system off and back on.
CMBS cannot detect all objects ahead and may not detect a given object; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed and other factors. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. System designed to mitigate crash forces. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions.

After switching to your desired setting, will it revers back to default setting after you turns off the car?
Is this system on the Thailand 2015 HRV?
Oh yeah
👋
How to quickly deactivate the system at the moment in gives alert? I think it’s important but no info anywhere. If I depress brake, will it continue to slow down and forceful stop or will it be deactivated?
Yours works? LOL. Mine doesn't.
@@QAsession How come? It should work.
@truending I've had my '24 HRV for 10 days and the cbms does not engage.
I'm familiar with how it works because I just traded in my 2020.
Dont know how to get the dealer to help.
They say that theres nothing wrong.
@@QAsession I have CRV executive, and did not like the experience. One with this system that forces brakes so hard even when there’s nothing on the way (the danger disappeared but it keeps braking). The other problem is the tyre pressure sign gets on very frequently. When I get the tyres checked they say they’re ok. I asked the Honda service about it and they don’t tell anything other than “calibrate the tyres if the sign comes on.” My last problem is when I’m listening to the radio and someone calls me, sometimes it fails to connect to car. The phone rings and when I accept the call there’s no sound coming. It’s ridiculous. Have you had these things as well. I trusted Honda but I guess I was wrong.
@truending I personally enjoyed the way my 2020 Accord protected me. Never had a false stop.
As for the tire pressure light, I had a few and there was usually a tire with low pressure or a nail.
Bluetooth never gave me an issue as I never activated it. Talking and driving is not something I enjoy doing.
I am hoping my cbms system gets fixed. Not having it is a real bummer.
My Honda HRV is two years old & in that time it has “system activated “ 3 times with no cars in front. Why?
You're lucky it activates at all. My 2024 HRV has zero protection even though the system is on.
My 2020 Accord was amazing. Prevented many collisions while driving on the insterstate and in traffic with motorcycles and trucks.
I am editing to say that now, after driving my 2024 HRV for 3 months, I have experienced one sudden stop for no reason at all. Scared the #$@% out of me, btw. Also, the system will activate when it wants to. Sometimes, as I approach a line of cars at a red light, sometimes when there is a sudden onslaught of heavy traffic in front of me going slow. There is no consistency in its activation to help me as the driver avoid collision. I drive in a very congested part of the nation filled with many foreign drivers who do not adhere to good driving manners and switch lanes and break short and do all kinds of things. So my system, if it worked properly, would be a humongous help. Now I have to be on high alert 100% of the time. Huge difference from my Accord. It's a bit of a bummer. I am leaving this comment for future readers. From watching many videos, I have gleaned that all of us are experiencing different things with the CMBS.
Mine did once minutes ago. I believe my setting was on “long.” No cars/motorcycles in front but a group of speedster punks almost sideswiped me. It didn’t go off when in their reckless & careless process of merging
