I always felt NBC shortsighted the show from the beginning. When they saw it was getting beat by 60 Minutes they should have switched the show to 8pm on another night.
Beautiful. I loved this show as a kid. Recently found all the episodes at the library, and played some for my nephews. They liked it too. They don't make them like they used to.
I actually did not see Voyagers! until I was an adult. It is such an intriguing series and it makes history so interesting. It may have lasted longer if it was broadcast on PBS instead of NBC. PBS is a much more educational network in its program offerings.
@@execatty Was my favorite show too, I’m around your age. There’s actually a guy who makes them in Brass with moving dials, sound and lights ( replicaprops ) who is almost finished a new run of them, I May get one myself but they’re expensive.
I first saw this show 5 years ago when I was 18, unlike many of you I did not have the privilege or honor to grow up in such a wonderful era in television. I absolutely loved this show and I was shocked when I heard what happened to Jon-Erik Hexum.
I wss there in 1984 when it happened. I cried, and cried. He was only 26 when he died. His mother donated his organs. I was in his fan club, and his mother wrote to us. It was so sad
This takes Me back to My High School Days and the era in 80s Television..Jon was begining to take off...I was 17 when He died..It shocked a lot of Us kids back then cause He was so young..I bought this immediately when they finally released it on Dvd..I tear up now when I see these scenes..I'm 53 now...RIP Jon Erik Hexum..
Shoot, it's too early to be cutting onions!! You are on a roll with these videos. I loved this. All beautiful and touching scenes. And the gorgeous colored photos in between. I loved that final line. :D Thank you for sharing these videos.
I used to watch the show when it was first run and was seriously pissed when it was cancelled so quickly! Jon Erik Hexum and Meeno Peluce were a great team and I think the show helped foster an interest in history. I was always fascinated by it, but when mixed with time travel and I was hooked! I'd love to see a [non woke] revival of the show, perhaps with Meeno returning for an episode or two as Jeffrey Jones, a fully fledged voyager passing the torch on to another prospective student. There were so many missed opportunities this show never got to like more on how the Voyagers came to exist, Bogg's childhood and recruitment, and getting the instruction book back for real!
If Hollywood had any brains, they’d remake the show. it was so damn good and actually taught kids values and history rather than the narcissistic things people do today.
Why....why did he pull the trigger!! I loved the show back in it's day. Jeffrey was so cute!! I couldn't understand why they cancelled the tv series in one season. I am glad I bought the DVD set. Plus I am really surprised, after all these years that they never did a remake of the series with different actors. It tells about our history all over the world. Hint.....hint. And I think our kids would like the show. It is clean cut with just a little bit of romance, violence, and a little bit of this or that. That's what made this show so good. About history. But Hollywood didn't give them a chance cuz John Eric was hot back then. Everyone wanted a piece of him. They pushed him to hard and he did what he did. We still love him. Rest in peace John. Now you can rest.
Magnificent show. Well-acted, beautiful chemistry between the two leads. How short-sighted of NBC to cancel it after one season.

Now that is a history of time travel and honestly I was thrilled to see that the union always makes the strength to face the difficulties of life
