- Today it's a rainy, gloomy day at the farmhouse so it's the perfect opportunity to stay inside, bake some yummy bread and work through our homemaking habits for 2024! I'm sharing my top 10 daily homemaking habits in this video in hopes that it will inspire you to also work more intentionally and find more peace and comfort at home in 2024.

RECIPES:
Sandwich bread in today's video (not an "official blog recipe" just yet)"
2 cups warm water
4 tsp. active yeast
1/4 cup raw honey
2 tsp. salt
6 cups flour (750 grams) - I added more during kneading
1/4 cup butter, melted
Mix the warm water, yeast and honey. Set aside for 10 minutes
Mix the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and then the butter.
Knead for 10 minutes (I just use my dough hook on my mixer)
Add more flour if necessary to make it pull away from the sides of the bowl. Set aside to rest and rise for 1 hour.
Punch it down and form into two loaves. Place in buttered bread pans. Allow to rise another hour.
Bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
Allow to cool before slicing.
Store in an air-tight container.

I'm in a different season of life (grandmother to 8 ... so far), but your video had me remembering a few things that helped me as a single mom.
I definitely did the dishes 3 times a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner) or more (baking day). We didn't have a dishwasher, and only had 1 of each dish or cup per person, and I think that really helped me keep the kitchen tidy.
And laundry - when they were younger, I put all their dirty clothes into one basket, and when that basket reached a specific level it was my cue to do a load. When they got a little older, I put the boys' laundry in one basket and my daughter's with mine ... again, washing once the basket reached a certain height. And then eventually thry all did their own laundry. Once the boys started working like me, my daughter and I did their laundry.
At this season of my life (still single) I'm still learning how best to order my days to keep everything on track.

Dishes in demand is a good phrase. I have been reading the Bible everyday but it doesn't leave me much time to read other books
That’s an awesome pursuit! The Bible is a great priority! I try to commit to 10 pages of nonfiction but it doesn’t happen every night… sleep is also a priority of mine in the stage of life. Lol! 😆❤️ Have you tried audio books? I go through stages where I really enjoy those while I’m doing dishes or laundry!

I come back and make the bed after my morning Bible study time. I’ve read your bed needs to cool off from our body heat so moisture isn’t trapped under the covers! It prevents bacteria from growing. And we love @dailygraceco

Lol January, it can be a love/hate relationship depending on the day 😂 The kids liked the bread and even requested a sandwich for school with it the next day so that’s a win so far! 👏 And yes, less tech at all times is always a goal here! 😅 Thanks for stopping by!

Hey there, welcome! I got those years ago as a wedding gift. The brand is USA PAN (back then bed Bath and beyond was around and that’s where you could get them but I’d search online.) A lot of my cookie sheets and baking pans are from that Brand and I’ve been super happy with them! I’ve had them for over 12 years now I guess! 🤯👏 Time flies!
