This isn't a 'meowfail', this is called the Silent Meow. Look it up. If your cat does this you are one lucky cat owner and have been given the greatest compliment your cat can pay you, it means enormous love, affection and respect from your kitty.

my cat had that too~ She was around 19years old but she still tried to meow~ most of the time she did it to show love, get attention or cuddle~ The only time you heard her was when she was fighting against the younger cats. lol
I wish my cat did that. She's so loud at early morning late at night like a frikken baby screaming even though she's fed and has clean litter. She does the silent meow too, but only when I'm up and awake and not busy doing other things. meow. Funny vid and adorable cat video. thanks

My cat who passed away had silent meows, and I thought it was pretty funny/cute, and trust me, it's very normal for cats to sound like that. My aunt had one who did the very same thing. XD

My beloved childhood cat "meowed" like that when we first found her. She only REALLY meowed at the vet's office. But then, our older cat died and she somehow decided that the only way she was going to get fed was to meow loudly and constantly for the rest of her life. So she did and it was slightly hellish.

I have a 17 year old cat that NEVER shuts up, she drives me nuts and after 17 years of hearing her, kinda wish she didn't speak. Seeing this kinda make me happy she can meow now, cause I feel bad for hims :( He's so cute and I feel bad he's trying to meow :(
