The best part is that this is a medieval instrument capable of sustaining a note for as long as you want and can be played as fast as your fingers allow. This thing was born to shred.
And the crowd did rocketh & rolleth
And there was much rejoicing
Indeed my head doth bang... verily!
and thy garments doth smell of Patchouli to mask thy skunky odour from one's "special Tin". Oh Merrily Merrily does thine eyes dilate and thine cheeks do grin. Rocketh oneth thy bangers of the head.

So you telling me we could have had metal even in medieval time?
The closest things we had were the church music and the war music.
This hurdy-gurdy is electrically enhanced with different kinds of distortions.
You should try out folk metal, my friend.
Pretty sure the blacksmiths had metal
[obligatory dad joke is obligatory]
If only they had distortion back then!

Like a dude coming to you in a trench coat asking you âyou wanna buy some drugs?â
Well, yes my dear youtube, indulge me more.
I didn't know what a hurdy gurdy was. I thought it was just something that Swedish Chef from the muppets said!
Yes but not like this!!
With this device, metal music can survive without electricity!
Only if people learn to play it! Is not an easy or simple instrument.
It is electrically distorted actually
This comment makes me very happy.

girl that sounds real good, it has such an eerie metal sound to it.
Tonally, and with music behind it, it's not that far removed from a distorted guitar. But a bit cooler somehow.
We actually put some distortion on it, cool that you noticed! :) The thing I would do differently if I could do this video again is I would record it acoustically with a mic, not only with the pickups.
@@michalina_malisz its a very cool instrument.. Makes me want to get one :-) thanks for sharing with the world..
@@michalina_malisz It's a highly underrated and unheralded instrument, I'd say. Makes me think of Donovan's soulful paean to the "Hurdy Gurdy man". But, the instrument clearly has a wide range of adaptability, especially for use in the contemporary music. Nice selections, btw, and I especially enjoyed your rendition of "Layla". I would love to hear it used more often, and by more of the musicians of today. Peace!

They are a bit like chinese... you don't really notice their number growing until it's too late XD
Donovan prophetised it, we are doomed, for the Hurdy Gurdy players are among us :
When truth gets very deep
Beneath a thousand years of sleep
Time demands a turn around
And once again the truth is found

Who comes singing the songs of love
