  • Mangulam is a village in Madurai district, Tamil Nadu, India. It is located 25 kilometres from Madurai. The inscriptions discovered in the region are the earliest Tamil-Brahmi inscriptions dating back to 3rd century BC.
    There are five caves in the hill of which six inscriptions are found in four caves. These were inscribed during SANGAM PERIOD, hence it is considered one of the important inscriptions in Tamil Nadu. The inscriptions mentions that workers of Nedunchezhiyan I, a Pandyan king of Sangam period, (c. 270 BCE) made stone beds for Jain monks. An inscription shows that Kadalan Vazhuthi, a worker (பணஅன்- accountant; he was also related family) of Nedunchezhiyan made stone bed to Jain monk Nanda Sirikuvan. It is the protected monuments in Tamil Nadu by the Archaeological Survey of India.

    Brahmi is a misnomer for Thamizhi, the conspiracy by the nomadic immigrants from the Steppes to the sub-continent of the native dark-skinned Dravidians, the Tamils.

May be after Jain or Buddha incoming, cave scripts started. But, communication & grammers are more older than , cave timing. Archeological clay pot, having 580BC old Tamil scripts. But it's not enaf. Tamil scripts wise visulals & examples & data &stories are more old. How excavate, solid proof? If there was any chance to be another writing style???? Tamil brahmi, later formed around 1000BC????

    You should wait for more acielogy proofs what you are. An anslogy of Prakrit is needed. In my opinion the fusion of pure pali and pure thamil is the result prakrit. Samannam has a religious way of life was existing in su
    Southern states, this practice later was identified with jaina through practicing and propogating. The delusion that everything from north to south is going to be broken in time, patients will bring true history. We don't accept Jain's brought but the practice of the Jain's and samanams were parallels in keeping with the ties that in that time frame the north and south could have been one race/ peoples . Look at ashokan coins thamil and pali share a mother daughter relationship with prakrith. Prakrit more a Northern language share relationship to to thamil due to its relationship. Because of blind scholarship towards sanskrit as root language to other languages , the source to Sanskrit is neglected, thus indian language evolution and history is still in the mist and does not correlate.

    What is Hinduism?
    +++++++++++++++
    I have long pondered on what constitutes this so called religion that is sitting on the head of my Tamizh people and have come up with some conclusions ....
    The priest from the Zoroastrian religion came to india with their Avestan language and fire rituals and later created some slogans in old Sanskrit to form the Vedas which was never written down.
    These priest learnt the principles of the Samana tradition that originated in the southern part of the sub continent namely in the Tamizh tradition and started incorporating it into their already existent vaiteegam rituals and produced the Upanishads and became vegetarians.
    For a solid philosophical footing which they needed in a highly philosophical Tamizh infused land about the 8th century Adi Sankara came up with Advaita logic that distorted the original Buddhist thoughts and produced a dichotomical nonsense which did not last the test of time.
    Later they took up the Tantric Samana Tamizh tradition and put forth the bakti religiosity. This they took also from the Christian tradition and desperately created for the Islamic onslaught. Bakti was based on erotism and appealed to the masses. The high Samana tantric philosophical basis was ruined for the newly conjectured 'Hindu' religion of the wretched puranic tales.
    This is the history of the Priestly class(Brahmins) that still retain their priesthood in the agamic temples that held sway through the bakti movement from the 10th century onwards. The consecutive non-Tamizh rulers firmly rooted the new found 'Hindu' religion with its caste system( the four varnas) that the British gave the final seal to....
