  • In this video I make another Traditional South African special treat for the braai.
To be honest this was my very first attempt to make skilpadjies. And I must say I could not find a lot of information about them on the internet, so I just experimented with them the spices I have used came out to perfection. But you can add some extra spice to your liking. Skilpadjies is a great addition to a Braai/BBQ
    The Spices I have used
    These are all teaspoon measures.
    2x Garlic spice
    1x Ground Corriander
    1x Ground Cloves
    1 ½ x Black Pepper
    1 ½ x Coarse Salt
    4x Worcestershire sauce
    400g of Lamb Liver
    700g Caul Fat ‘Net Vet’
I really hope that you enjoyed this video and that you make a ton of skilpadjies in the days to come.

OMW these are just sooooo amazingly delicious! Definitely one of the best dishes we South African have invented for a braai! I love liver in general and skilpaadjies just takes liver to a whole new level! I love them, and they are just not the same if you don't do them on a braai!

Anders meng by 'n skaap hart of 2, of 1 beeshart. Dan so 25% soft shin.

I was introduced to this amazing dish by the owner of my guesthouse while I was in Johannesburg. We went on a safari to Pilansburg and had a midday braai complete with anything you could want. I’m not a fan I’m general of liver but these on the grill are absolutely amazing!

As a South African, I am embarrassed to say that I have never tried this. Not sure if I would :) but was very interesting to see the whole process. Thanks man!
