  • Quite simply the most astonishing super yacht I've ever had the pleasure of touring. This is superyacht as performance art. Rather than just building something with the most amount of rooms, the ethos of this superyacht was to build something that makes you go 'WOW' when you walk on board, and then does it again when the captain hits the throttles!

      Goodness I agree. The decor looks like a turd floating in piss. Who picked these colors? Full of tiny cramped useless areas with nauseating irregular passageways and stairs everywhere. Like just buy a Palmer Johnson it'll do 28 knots all day long, and not at 2000 Liters per hour either! It'll do it looking a lot better too.

      All the time i was watching the video i was wondering if the designer began by designing low end knocking-shops in the '70's. I would be ashamed to invite anyone onboard if I was "given" that boat. So many of these expensive boats seem to be designed with a lack of taste in mind, which is a pity.

      Creaking floors or walking / standing on steel hard surfaces all day?
      The creaking comes from allowing a bit of flex to make the flooring softer on your feet.
      That bit or artwork "brainwashing" wouldn't survive my first encounter with it partially asleep. All those different patterns on the walls would have me looking for a paint brush and bucket of paint. Oh, that's flat black bottom paint? Oh-well, at least the walls aren't an eyesore now.

    Roberto , thanks for the TOUR ! ..... I was the build engineer for the first owner , just a couple of corrections , THUNDER achieved 42.9 Knots on sea trails [ not sure where the other 9 knots went.... ] Her fuel consumption more in the order of 2300 litres per hour at WOT 50% load. I would think if Jon Bannenberg could see the interior today , he would do back flips in his coffin .However , a very challenging build and meet all the owners objectives [ except for his fuel bill at the end of the first season ] I agree with you, incredible attention to detail , taste and style is a personal given right .

    While I can appreciate the craftsmanship on this boat, the decor and design are the most hideous I have seen on a boat or anything else, no amount of silver- and gold flake can change that.
    The video itself was top-notch of course (I might as well stop mentioning that in future video's because that has become the norm :-) )

    I'd be spending all my time out on deck on that boat. The interior made me feel queasy and claustrophobic just looking at it, particularly in the owner and guest quarters. There's no accounting for taste I guess. Fantastic video and tour as ever Nick. Hope you're keeping well in these strange times.

    • @TheNefastor
      @TheNefastor Před 4 lety +2

      About the claustrophobia : sometimes I feel it too, but I wonder if it's just the camera. I mean you've seen how high the ceiling is ? Surely this must feel vast "in person" ?

      @ignatiuscheese6807 Před 4 lety +2

      @@TheNefastor I watch a lot of these boat tours and this is the first time I've felt that. I'm pretty sure it was just the decor for me. Something about the bulging lines of some of the walls maybe along with the colour scheme. The state room with the huge headroom shown didn't give me the same feeling. The colours are a little more muted in there with some straight edges in sight.

    Lot's of people complaining about the extravagant interior. I'd say it's also not my taste, but on the other hand, if I had the money to buy stuff like this, I could see myself getting a bit extravagant in my interior design ideas. All of the yachts in this price range have expensive, high quality interior, but it's essentially the same for all of them, and having something so unique to myself can have a certain appeal, too. I would color my yacht in bright orange and other people would probably consider it an attack on the senses, but it would be special and mine alone.
    Thanks for the tour, Nick, the interior was really quite an adventure. 😉

    Thanks Nick, a brilliant walkthrough as usual. I love the fact there are things out there like this; so over the top in every single way. If you have the money.....then exercise that obtuse sense of style. We would all do it if we could, in our own way. My only issue is that Roberto felt the need to put his emblem on almost literally everything in the guest spaces. It reminded me of Cat from Red Dwarf going round the ship spraying everything..."That's mine, this is mine, all this is mine!". As I say, Nick, great review, thank you. Roberto, you may just need to calm down the labelling a tad. Cheers.
