Assuming the "engine" is strong enough, how well will a VTX climb? Is it competitive with a typical high end road bike? I'm hoping to conquer Whiteface Mountain in upstate New York next spring (2020). I don't expect to win, but I'd like to be competitive. I did it in 2019 with a Felt DD70 fat bike just to say it could be done. That was a slog! Now I'd like to compete against the Roadies with a recumbent. I have years of experience on one and think it might be possible. Thoughts?
I got a good idea. Instead of paying a significant amount of money to make pro films ,why not give to buyers ,of the VTX especially those who want it for speed.....a go pro camera for free if they agree to film there use of it for You Tube ,for a period of time ??????? I think that would be much cheaper and far more advertisement for you????? You should reward me for this great idea,I own a VTX ,2015 and I love ,love ,love it?????????

Much as I'd LOVE one of these.... the everyday practicalities of using one rule out me ever having one. So close to the ground, breathing in copious amounts of traffic fumes, not forgetting being squashed like an ant by half asleep car drivers or lorrys treating you like a speed bump, forget it!
Lovely though the video was, totally empty roads don't exist - except in these promo videos do they?
On top of that, why bother wearing a crash hat but not using a Hi-Viz flag on a good height pole? You wouldn't survive an hour under real traffic conditions.
And then there's the price. Anything half decent is going to be upwards of £3,500 I suspect. Add to that insurance, IF you can even get a recumbent insured...
Peter Vick I ride mine on the road in copious amounts of traffic in Ft Worth, TX. It has and continues to be a pure joy. At 59 and riding at all levels and in most environments, I can say it’s all about attitude. If you believe all of the bad could happen then it will most likely be an unpleasant riding experience. Yes, something bad could and one day will happen (and it may not be on the trike/bike). Or, you can realize that when it’s your time to go, maybe you’ll have pleasure of leaving doing something you enjoy:) Cheers!
@@Jesusisthe1way I honestly cannot remember ever writing that comment. Very strange as in actual fact I purchased a new ICE Sprint X Tour in April 2019 and LOVE IT!
Sadly I've been unable to use it (yet) this year, due to being shut in through the Coronavirus, but am looking forward to getting back out on it soon.
