It’s because silicone can weight curls down. I have curly hair and I do NOT want that silicone build-up because it’s simply not healthy for my curls. The curly girl method exists for people with wavy/curly hair so if you have straight hair, it’s not going to really do anything for you. I don’t get why straight hair would need to remove silicone.

You have pretty , nice and healthy hair, the frizz wasn't a big problem it didn't need all of those "silicones" ( silicone in hair products is unhealthy by the way), you could have just deep conditioned it , used serums or neutral oil like almond oil you'd still have pretty healthy moisturized hair with no frizz , my hair is frizzier and curlier and drier than yours and I only use silicone, paraben, sulfate free conditioners, and oils and it's good and shiny and pretty and I never heat style it,my only problem is that 2 years ago most of my hair fell and it hadn't grow back yet and I tried everything none worked, I still have one product to try and then I'll give up once and for all bcz at least the curls give some fake volume to my hair that isn't really there.

It doeent matter if ur hair is damaged or not if u heat style it it makes it looks much smoother silkier . So don't compare ur air dried hair to hers. Alot of these influences just promote the next brand that promotes them and claim thats the product that gives them this air when honestly u just use sleek amd shine garnier and style ur Hair with straightener or blowdry / curler ans you'll have beautiful curls or straight gloss hair. Use drug store u don't need expensive stuff.

the thing is, I can’t tell if my hair is just straight + frizzy, or if it’s meant to have a wave pattern. Some pieces of my hair (especially in my neck) will be wavy/ curly, whereas the top part of my hair will appear straight but always so frizzy/ dry looking even though I always use masks and conditioners.

First off, you don’t have frizzy hair. Secondly, silicones cause much damage to hair it should not be used and if you use it anyway it should be shampooed once a month with a clarifying shampoo that is NOT HARSH to hair. If you use silicones please don’t use it always you will end up with horrible hair within a few years. All these terrible products in shampoos and conditioner, even in leave in conditioners are not good for you, they only end up making damage to your beautiful locks.

babes do not use products with silicones, it will just ruin your hair if you try to colour it. my mum used to be a hairdresser, and she told me a story of a girl who came in for highlights at the salon and her hair snapped off like crazy and its because she uses silicones in her hair products

Think I am going to go back to not using fancy products. I used to have beautiful hair and then some hairdresser convinced me to buy “salon” products which I continued to try different ones and my hair turned to shit. After years of that I think I will just go back to using supermarket shampoo and conditioner and do a weekly clarify. We’re all blowing through so much money to try and get hair like these unicorns who have clearly just had their hair professionally done and we never achieve it.
