Yeah trust is huge. That’s why I started with Costco, then online and local shops. I struggle with, but would like to, sell person to person but there’s so many scammers!
I was thinking of investing in one of those quality machines that test. If metal is received by mail, it’s too late at that point for testing to help. But would be a nice appliance for in-person trading. 👍
Pocket pinger and a scale maybe a micrometer and Google for specs think you could do it. I might feel more comfortable with smaller transactions peer to peer prolly wouldn't throw down a thou to a same person private sales.
I don't usually check the spot price of silver. I'm more focused on rearranging my precious metals in my safe. so I can have more space for gold and silver.
My strategy when buying. silver is buying what I can afford. cause in the long run it all adds up.
I check 6x per day. Wife hates hearing spot price and my weather report!

Same but I just like watching numbers I watch all the indexes commodities cryptos and dollar to other currency exchanges. Even though I own no cryptos or much of the markets I watch I like numbers and like following them.

One thing I have observed in my stacking journey is that refiners want and prefer is the purest silver available. The .999 and above are easier to refine less waste according to refiners I have seen interview by YT stackers. If there is a sudden rush of people selling silver including true junk silver, you may get less and wait longer since they will process the silver that is the easiest and cheapest to refine.

Buddy, I keep my phone screen on Kitco and prop it up on my nightstand so when I wake up I can see the spot price. When I'm at work, I have Kitco on my computer screen. LOL. I'm ODC about recording every single ounce of gold and silver and cost averages. Great video.

I used to check the spot price more often but I've had to chill out lately. Mostly I look when I have the cash to buy what I want now. It makes me less crazy 😅

I also check the spot prices a few times a day IF I'm thinking about buying some very soon...but if the cash is low...not so much. I have no thoughts about selling....my little stack is just another part of my savings account. It's something that's meant to be passed on for my family to do whatever with. Check my math. In the year 2000 spot was $4.35 per oz. 24 years later the spot price is $30. 6x’s the price. So in 24 years the price should be at least $180 per oz. Discuss….

If you go by the ratio it should already be in the triple digits because there's no reason silver should be more than 1/30th let alone 1/20th the price of gold
True, if you go by math only. Other factors could cause it to vary considerably from $180fiat/oz. The current fiat system probably won’t exist 24 years from now. Silver could return to what it actually is, real money, and the marketplace determine what it will buy. 👍

I was stacking before the internet, but even when spot price was available 24/7, I didn't dwell on it.
My wallet told me when to buy when I was shy of my stacking goals.
I often ask myself if I'm a stacker or a hoarder.
I generally only think about the number of ounces, though I do re-calculate my total ounces and their dollar value every 90 days. I'm looking to have many thousands of ounces of Silver and hundreds of ounces of Gold, so I'm pretty far away from my ultimate goals. I am not worried about selling at all. I hope I never have to sell my metals, but if I do, I have no fear that I won't be able to sell. Keep stacking!
I’m guilty of checking spot obsessively even though I’ve never sold an ounce of silver since I started stacking 30 years ago. I do have a hand written ledger of all my silver. My plan is to leave it to grandkids or if things get too crazy it may be a lifeline. Good video Speg

Beautiful toning on some of those pieces Speg... I hope I can keep a portion of my stack until 2030-32 (I'll be surprised if I make it, I'm old already). A portion is a portion, but when I see printed paper starting to hyperinflate the next couple of years then any hard asset is better than paper imo. (SA said they will not renew the Petro dollar as of June 10th... they are BRICS now.) Just be careful as it's still considered "illegal" to trade your Constitutional right of gold and silver for goods according to some states. You might win on Constitutional grounds, but it will cost you lawyers and time.) If I were to make a "trade" I would make them specify they want my silver for any verbal contract, so that it is like trading my bike/or bar of silver for whatever.

I used to do the same thing but over the years but now I don't pay attention to none of it I just keep stacking.
With my silver stacking goal completed...I have now switched to buying 1970's and 1980's one oz silver art bars with designs I like. Bought 2 really rare ones today from Silver Steve Austin. Vintage Baby!
I bought some gol and silver in 2020. Mostly because my sister and her husband were excited about it. I usually invested in the stock market. So now I have about 20 gold coins and 52 silver 10 oz bars. Looking back on what I paid for it it doesn’t seem to have increased in value that much. My stocks performed much better.
Do you ever get Local Coin Shop dealers trying to sell you poor quality coins. My LCS kept selling me damaged coins and I would return and would say no way I just bought that from the mint. He would go check and say your right and give me better silver. It seems like time I go samething happens again. When I buy online it never happens.

Do you keep track of what you paid for everything? At the end of the day you don’t know what your profit is unless you add everything up you paid and divide it by how many ounces you have.
If you think about it. You can bracket the market by offering lower than the box stores but slightly above the spot. The buyer gets a good deal below the Big Box store markup, and you get a slight profit. Differently a win-win situation for all involved. Hmm if you are around this coming Saturday. I will try and put that theory into practice Ha ha ha.

I have 134 ounces of silver - 10 - 5 - 1 ounce bars - You have to look at it as a long tern investment of at least 5 years - Holding 20 - 25 years until you retire is great - But don't go crazy with thousands of onces of silver - The big bullion dealers will tell you silver is going to $ 1000. dollars per once in the next 10 years - I hope your smarter that. There are thousands of tons of silver out there and we will NOT run out of Silver.

Shit is hilarious you folks really don’t understand why you would have silver in the first place. So many folks think they are going to get rich tomorrow but silver will just prevent you from being poor.
It's simple.... when you know it's gonna be a market crash... because this is economy is a house of cards... I stack cash for the crash.... been doing this since 08... patience is key, and I come out with more in the end.
