    Interesting vid Mick! I bought a new KLR 600 back in 1984ish & i commuted on it for 18 years ( 100ks per working day ) It was kick start only too. Great bike!

    Got a DR650 with the Mikuni TM42, getting 110 miles out of a 5.3gal tank... any tips?

    • @AussieKawiman
      @AussieKawiman  Před 4 lety +1

      Get a Bigger tank?? Sorry mate, I would try and lean it out a little or get someone to give it tune..Some run well others just are a pain to tune, I have one in a box at the moment was going to put it on my Tengai but with the mods and tuning issues i am going to leave it off and put it on a new KLR if I come across one... Need a good tuner,which i am not...Hope you get it sorted soon...Cheers..

    Does the new carburettor actually fit well inside the bike or does it touch other components due to its size? If so, does this cause any problems and is there a fix? Cheers mate.

    • @AussieKawiman
      @AussieKawiman  Před 3 lety +1

      It is VERY tight to get in, The first time i did it the drain screw on the base wore through as it was sitting on the started motor, I had to use a zip tie to hold it up.That fixed it. I am trying to fit one in my Tengai at the moment and i will need to cut a section of the frame out, really don't want to do that..Good luck and thanks for watching mate..

      @@AussieKawiman I see. Do you know if there’s a better or equally good carburettor for the KLR that’s actually made for it and fits?

      @@waltz9230 , no mate, These are the only ones i have used and by the looks of it only ones that work, It is ok to put in just remember to make sure it does not sit on the starter motor..

    Just heard there will not be a 2019 KLR650 in the US. just wondering if you have heard anything? Any rumors anything and yes I have the same motorcycle sickness you have. I always say "so many motorcycles so little time". Tuning that pumper is a trick.

    • @AussieKawiman
      @AussieKawiman  Před 6 lety +1

      I have heard that as well and 1 person who confirmed it was,let's say, in touch with all things Kawasaki and yes he says it is all over??? Lets hope there is a replacement...Oh an 800cc fuel injected lightweight, as well as 650 twin in a modern frame...So many configurations that would work....Watch this space...Thanks for watching and commenting..Enjoy

    I take it this effectively derestricts the bike? Can you supply the same in the new yellow? Cheers.

    • @AussieKawiman
      @AussieKawiman  Před 6 lety

      Sorry mate the yellow was only limited to 20 units on Australia and really did not sell that well. Also yes this de-restricts it just nicely..Thanks for watching, Enjoy...

    Just wondering Aussie carbi man what jetting you used on that 42 mik carb for that 650.. as I am doing this swap... I'm at around 337 meters above sea level here in midwest USA... What might you recommend for needle jet, jet needle, Main jet, Pilot jet ???
    Was thinking...
    NJ y-6
    JN--98"middle notch for e clip"
    Pilot 20
    Main 150
    Thank you ....

      @@AussieKawiman awesome mate I live down the road in bris but I'm an ex sunny coaster, I'd love to drop in and have a chat about it and see what expenses I'm in for. My klr was handed down in the family, she still goes pretty good but I'd like to give her a new lease of life and get another 10 years maybe.
