Thank you for this topic my Sister in spirit. I actually relate to what you are talking about. Last year December (2022) I lost my mind and went psychotic. I was admitted for 3 weeks. I was out of my mind for 2 weeks and came back to mind on the third week of my hospitalization. The doctor said I have schizophrenia and I look at him as I was like ai bo udlala lo, i do not have that. Somehow I knew what was happening to me and I still do remember most of the things that I was seeing happening to me in my mind while in that state, and now everything is starting to making sense, I am now being shown why I had to go through that state. I am more in tune with myself than before. So yes it is true it's good not to quickly jump into conclusions with your diagnosis especially when it comes to this topic. For me I say if it is not a calling and just genuinely a mental illness you will know, and if it is a calling you will still know and most of the time when it is a calling uvele ugule uzazi ukuthi you have a calling cos icalling iziveza from usemncane ukhula uzazi ukuthi you have you have a calling.
I learned this the hard way. I can't spend alot of time around people ,I feel drained by constant interactions I met a traditional healer that told me that whenever I feel that way, my ancestors are trying to talk to me . I walk into empty rooms or places or meet people and instantly get vibes or sensations that just shift my mood completely .. It's a weird but I love it

at times it's not denying, it's a matter of not being aware or not knowing, cause like you said Gogo Spiritually inclined persons go through unexplainable things... some people are raised in families where African Spirituality is not understood or practiced.

Sounds like me to the T. I quit antidepressants but the older I get things have become worse. 😰 Trauma after trauma after trauma. Everything such a struggle. My whole life seems like an initiation of some kind. Exhausted.
Thank you gogo i needed to hear this expaciouly were you taking about the school part i left school at grade 9 just stand up in class and walked out and i got so much panic attacks in class like shaking couldn't get the words out properly talking too fast now i see that same thing in my son hes very slow at school they kept him in grade 2 case his too slow and not sleeping still always like his fighting with someone.

Something in me did not believe I was sick, deep down I knew it was something bigger than me but I could not explain it. I became sensitive to smells, drawn to nature, attracted "amahlanya" and had endless visions. Now I am proud of my experience because in a string of events, something led me to you. My sister was misdiagnosed with bipolar n only to find out she has a calling... Problem is we don't know whether if she stops taking the treatment,she'll be fine.. I yawn I think it depends with the environment I'm in or with people around me...they say I have a calling... Problem is I don't experience any dreams to confirm that n I'm worried if this is possible or not...please help
