I thought my van was ready to get junked, i changed the spark plug and wires, the fuel inyectors and the coil ordered everything on ebay for a fraction of what Autoze sells them for and it drives like new
    Its amazing

True Ignition coil pack like this don't throw codes sometime. I ended up buying sparkplugs then nothing change so I bought ignition coils then it works.

2007 Dodge Caravan I got new spark plug wires wires and one coil replaced. I did have an overheat and a radiator problem which had to be replaced. Being told now I have two bad cylinders. Wondered if any of you had any ideas. I'm not very mechanical myself. Thank you

No biggie, you just need a spark Plug tester that allows you to adjust the length of the spark pulse your viewing which shows you the intensity, they are not that expensive and have a small plastic knob that allows you to adjust the eletrodes on the tester to varing lengths of spark, they are marked according to secondary voltage so you know if your getting 20kv or say 40 kv. Old engines you just needed the spark verification, newer engines need intensity as they run higher compression and leaner fuel.
    Great video.

That’s good info. I’ve worked on my own vehicles for a long time, but I wouldn’t have thought about intensity. I would have figured that the spark tester was manufactured recently, so it likely would have some kind of circuitry that either shows spark is “ok” or “no spark”. I would have been wrong.

    Hello, thanks for video
My 2002 Chrysler town & county “IGN SW” fuse burns out often, (sometimes every 10-30 minutes, sometimes every 2 weeks) could it be the ignition coil fault?

2004 T&C 3.8L. P0306. Van idles rough, gets good mpg (23-24 hwy). Changed plugs. Changed wires. Changed coil packs. Replaced injector. Compression good.
mechanic looked at it and says it was something with the valves or valve springs. I can't pay for an overhaul. Wondering how it can be a valve issue since compression tests good? It's been two years and about 20K miles.

Good question. I've seen this before on other vehicles where the exhaust valve isn't opening enough to clear the cylinder for fresh air and fuel. The compression will look good which can throw you off. Here's a link to a video I did about a Ford Fusion.

What is that probe you used to evaluate the coil pack? In the video you call it a probe, but what is it exactly?

Lot of crappy ignition packs out there for this model van especially on ebay being sold as new.

Mine is running rough and I I can drive slow but cannot overdrive at all soon I push the gas too overdrive it’s not going you can be the ignition coil

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  Před měsícem

@@mxjuan234 It's possible. If the van has a misfire it can cause the transmission to not shift correctly.

Use an HEI ignition tester, it will show strength of spark.

Good evening sir hope your day is going good! I was looking up p0300 in the factory manual online and I'm trying to comprehend test 3 in the book where it says, turn the ignition off, disconnect the ignition coil harness connector, disconnect the fuel injector harness connector, ignition on, engine not running., With the DRB3, actuate the ASD relay., using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, probe the (A142) ASD Relay Output circuit at the Ignition Coil harness connector and Fuel Injector harness connector., Does the test light illuminate brightly? Yes👉Go To 4
    No👉Repair the excessive
    resistance or short to ground
in the (A142) ASD Relay Output
    circuit.
    Perform POWER TRAIN
    VERIFICATION TEST VER-5.
Are you able to help me
    comprehend that test sir?
