    I also remember the beautiful version of drummer Cozy Powell (RIP) at the beginning of his LP "Over the top" (1979) played in the company of Gary Moore, Clem Clempson, Bernie Marsden (guitars), Jack Bruce (bass), Don Airey and Max Middleton (keyboards)... Excellent Musicians for Great Music.

    Van der Graaf Generator and Bigelf. Two of my favourite bands of all time.

    Trash1 has an all-acoustic version that's hipper than any cover version of this tune. Thanks Brad!

    @4fulsealteam YES!!!
    "Theme one" is written by George Martin the 5th Beatles in 1967, for the BBC RADIO 1 program! :)
    George Martin's son is a producer too (he worked with his father for the Beatles "LOVE" album).

    Not half mates as Fluff Freeman used to say.... This is an excellent version of George Martin's Theme One - No matter which version you listen to, whether it be George Martin's original, this version or the others out there, its a great piece

    Always loved this song. But something tells me BigElf were turned onto it via VDGG's version rather than George Martin's. I love the VDGG version also.
    Saw BigElf here on the Progressive Nation tour with Zappa Plays Zappa/Dream Theater last summer. They have a really cool retro 70's sound/look. I like pretty much all their music, with the exception of the Atomic Rooster cover 'Death Walks Behind You'...they should've passed on that one IMO.
