Im sad watching this because it is not the original way of dancing taddo (Courtship dance) and talip (victory dance) of the Isnags from Apayao Province. Even the costumes are not original, everything here is adulterated.

Maybe there should be cultural dance teachers from all over the country teaching the original traditional dances, otherwise, these cultural dances would be lost forever. I don't think these dancers are from Apayao, and their trainor is also not from Apayao. I heard that compared to other regions in the Cordilleras, many in Apayao do not pass on their dances to the younger generation as the latter are no longer interested. That is sad.

It’s true that they didn’t show a very accurate portrayal but this could be the start for them to be better. Since our isnag culture is rarely ever portrayed or represented, I think it would be natural for them not be as accurate.
      may mai say haha

@@J11_boohoo No ma'am/ sir. Kaya nga po, they should not perform if they do not know to avoid this.. kaya nga po kino condemn na po natin para wag na nila gawin next time kasi this is Cultural Misappropriation lalo nat hindi siguro sila Isnag.. kung ang purpose is to promote the dance, why don't they invite Isnag People to perfome the dance. Our Cultural Community is not perfect thus, kailangan nating iprotect ang ating identity as Indigenous Peoples.. Hope you did not get me wrong, Isnag ka pamandin, sana kinokondena mo rin ang mga ganyang sitwasyon to correct it. Anyway, I am from the Yapayao of Ilocos Norte, friends to many Isnag People and hindi ganyang ang Isnag Talip..

@@jesliemanuel6371 after further consideration, alright I agree with you
This is unrelated, but I find the isnags of ilocos norte very interesting, I am an isnag from Kabugao Apayao
Question, how much of my isnag did you understand? Ymandaya is quite different in pronounciation to my Kabugao-Ymallod isnag
And do the isnags of ilocos norte speak isnag as their primary language or do they speak mostly Ilocano? Where I am from, it is rare to gear ilocano, it is mostly just isnag in Kabugao
