PLEASE do a comparison of brushing first then flossing VS flossing then brushing VS Both simultaneously VS The SAME with a good waterflosser and other good sonic toothbrush. Given the high price of this particular combo machine of choice, the results may be helpful if the separate results are better or on par seeing as machines that have both as different attachments (or buying separate) are cheaper.

Thank you for a more systematic “scientific” review of these brushes! This is really what I was looking for. Not some dentist trying these toothbrushes for the first time and just giving their opinion based on how they liked using the brush and the claims the brush co. Make! This was awesome! I really love my sonicare it makes me feel like my teeth are super clean but I want to try this dye test at home now! I’m weird I brush like 4-6 minutes so maybe I am getting everything with the sonic care since I do it for longer? I will report back! Other wise I may switch to burst which would suck cuz I already have a Costco pack of sonic care heads I just got :(

I like my sonicare & haven’t had any dental issues since using it regularly.. in fact I totally forgot about this and ended up buying a second cheaper sonic care. It’s also worthy to note the cheaper one the brush head is different as is the power behind it. So not all sonic cares are built equally! Idk if anyone has tested them side by side with the dye or not but I can tell the difference between them for sure

I have always been an Oral-B user and I tried Sonicare also in the past I happen prefer the Oral-B. that said I did switch after watching this video too the burst toothbrush. I will say the burst felt really good I was really liking using it and I thought it was doing a fantastic job, that is until I went to the dentist. I've known them for years and they commented that my teeth have not ever had this much plaque and asked if I changed anything in the way I was brushing and I told him I'd change toothbrushes. 6 months goes by and I'm having another Dental cleaning and exam and the same thing they're saying I have really heavy plaque in certain areas which is never been the case prior to changing toothbrushes. I decided this might be the toothbrush so I changed to the Oral-B IO and my mouth really felt great using that. I just feel like I get some more thorough clean. now I will say this between the old or will be I was using and the new IO 9 it's fantastic. there's no comparison between the old one and this one. but in 6 months I will know because if I do not get a bad review at the dentist and then I'll know the world will be was much better. I'll update in 5 months

Thanks for this toothbrush review, I got one of those recommended toothbrushes at the dentist office and i was pretty leery of having to pay $160 for a toothbrush that i could get cheaper with the same or better results. I've actually been using charcoal toothbrushes for years and they've done fairly well for me (i've been luckily so far to not have my teeth nor mouth as bad as it could be). Turns out, though, i apparently have gum issues and will need an more in depth option due to my old dentist doing quite horrible keeping mine in tip top shape.

So you are saying that the charcoal in the bristles actually does something? It's not just some gimmick? That's cool! I will consider the Burst. My old electric toothbrush is dying and will only last for 1 minute before the battery is completely drained. It's a cheap no-name brand that I got from Amazon 2 and a half years ago.
Also, different brushes say they have different vibrations per minute. The one I have now does 31,000 VPM, the Burst does 33,000. I have found electric toothbrushes that do 40,000 VPM. How much does any of that matter? Well, thanks for the info!

Im guessing its the brush head thats the problem not the sonicare itself. Burst might have a better shaped brush head for your specific teeth gaps or style of brushing. Can experiment with different heads.
Dont brush lazily because it only takes 2 minutes and dont skip over problematic spots that you know about. In my exp it only takes an extra second there to clean the odd spots.
Manual brushes have nothing on these sub sonic ones as they clean under the gums too. Its a perfect gift for someone who uses manual brush.

Hello :) Is the Burst toothbrush okay for sensitive teeth and gums that are prone to bleeding?

I understand that the sonicare is recommended and not Oral B for example because the former is not abrasive and works on principle of cavitation bubbles whereas latter does physical scrubbing making it potentially worse.
