- Solving India's Traffic Problem 👏👏
Based in Bengaluru, Quick Ride wants to reduce 1 Million cars on Indian roads, every day.
And to do this, they have a simple solution, ‘Carpooling’.
Along with a car, Quick Ride also allows you to pool a bike with someone.
Investors too love this idea, and till now they have poured over 15 Million dollars (123 Crore Rs) into the startup.

It's always a safety issue to get into stranger's car
Background verification before letting anyone use the app could solve this problem.
I am the danger
@@saadatmanzoor4440no no way, it’s still a very very big deal. You never know that person might become a stalker, might keep eye on your conversations. No
@@Kathakathan11why can't the same be said about uber or any other services who has ur phone number and location?
@@Kathakathan11 Then what about public transportation? What about your college or office? Like is there any logic in your proposition?
It isnt just about pooling per se. I have consumed this service in 2017, and what ended up happening is that I used to get into a car with like minded people belonging to the same industry. It actually helped me grow my network!
You consumed what?

Use public transport instead.
Public transport is not effective in cities like Pune. This app has helped so many of us to commute to office.
yes, why share an ac car when you can sweat in crowded bus smelling some one's armpit.
@nitiz5871 Then, why to sit with strangers touching us? Better to travel in own vehicle
Better, why to even use a car...
Just walk to where you want to go
Or even more better....DONT LEAVE YOUR HOME!!!!!!
But the bus conductor doesn't return the change after taking our money
Research found that the cause of traffic jams is vehicles. Thanks for the info
Private cars not vehicles listen properly then go hating around
They were awarded a million dollars grant to determine that.... 😂
10 years before took lift from light commercial goods vehicle and advised the driver that seen many purchasing car in city & puzzled🤔 "Why the hell did I purchase a car?".
Nope. Does not work.
Major reason is idiots on the street who does not want to follow rules up to an extent no of vehicles too but major is idiots.
I used Quick ride a lot in early 2020, but after lockdowns and work from home I never carpooled. But carpooling is definitely more comfortable than public transport
Can't we use Public Transport instead like local train, metro, buses etc??
If you're traveling from point A to B
And using public transport u need to take 2 things like bus and metro.
Then this app is cool man.
Delhi Mumbai yes, banglore no
Delhi k bus m koi loda dedea, Chuche daba lega, or koi kuch nhi kr payga, Itni bheed hoti h
So no thanks.
There are not enough public transports and have you seen how people travel in city buses ?? Squeezed not even having enough space to breath , that's the reason people don't like travelling in public buses , second thing metro , metro lines should be build all over the city but it's not available everywhere in Indian cities thus the problem !
Welcome to Bengaluru
Tbh , We have share auto.
Because the frequency of using auto is high in India whereas it won’t apply in this case. Therefore, car pooling won’t be a successful strategy for cab service providers especially for Uber and Ola. They had tried it once.
I haven’t found one in Bangalore 😿 one of the reasons why I miss Chennai 😢
Not for a 50 70km with the comfort of a car.!!
Which app provide this service
@@harishvijendranyou don't have to miss Chennai, you can go back there leave blr
Sounds good Indians are kind of people who can adjust at any condition sharing a car is genius idea
illegal idea😂😂
I have taken Quick ride. This comes with verified profiles for both rider and the owner. It was better than public transport (no need to switch busses nor do I need to stand). Also the cost was affordable.
More than safety issue, Uber and Ola both have tried it. People don't want to wait or go with someone they don't know.
Sallu bhai be like: aa jao tumhe mai drop kar deta hoon 😂😂
After that, Bhai gaadi ke andar aur tum gaadi ke neeche...too much fun😂
😮 Selmon chicha will drop us directly to God 😅😅😅
I used it several times back in 2019. One of my friend got a permanent ride on it referred by me ofcourse
😂😂
Carpooling was always there. Safety and convenience is a big issue in India
Traffic isn’t the problems, lack of infrastructure is.
Not infrastructure but too many vehicles in the road is the problem
People are problem too
Only problem is people but we will not acknowledge it.
I've seen in Noida, there was long jam and in most of the cars there was single person.
BRO EVEN IN DELHI AND BANGLARU INFRASTURCTURE IS BETTER BUT THE CARS ARE TO MUCH
It was a huge success from 2017-2019 in Chennai with people from nearby office locations and pickups on the way.. we made friends gangs with riders and ride owners.. I heard it is still a good working model there..
In india car is status symbol bro
They dont even let strangers in /people dont hop into random cars
thts what car pooling solves. If you dont want to share your car, dont join the app simple
@@ayush4565 you didn't understand my comment
Only people who work in corporate world would do this! It isn't going to effective in semi urban areas
@@imnoone8532exactly people like their privacy so this isn't the right solution
Increase metro and buses it will be solved automatically
Tech bros just discovered public transport
I once carpooled on a BMW X5. The people you meet there put up a good conversation.
Another reason is that only Bangalore ,Hyderabad ,Pune are equipped with MNCs and Indian startups . So overcrowding is creating problems. Cities like chandigarh ,lucknow , Ahmedabad ,jaipur ,Kolkata ,nagpur should have new startups . But that's also difficult . Also other problems are that lots of familes have more than 2 cars just because they have money . This create problems of traffic and parking . Metro connection should be expanded
Man I pitched this idea to an equity fund managers in my college day back in 2019 same idea and people made fun of me back than said it's too complex
I regret not pursuing this my own
😭😭😭
It's been done since 2014 and all of those just fall apart
Where are you from?
@@vanshagarwal4493 Bhopal
Yea dont worry man. Uber Ola too had ride share. Safety, logistics and math don’t workout just yet.
Bhai SPONSORED bhi bata dete. I have been using car pooling apps since 2018 😂 And NO, it was not the one you mentioned
Car pooling is very necessary for office people. Unnecessary traffic is caused by multiple cars having just one person to commute.
I have done car and bike pooling many times and it saves money but it will take time as well.
India has 1/10th the number of cars in China or US. Still India suffers from huge jam. This means Infrastructure needs improvement
Its not just infrastructure. Main culprit is also the population density. Even the densely populated cities of US such as NY suffer from traffic jams. On the other hand tier 2 cities of our contry even with moderate infrastructure dont see one. All boils down to population density. Our metros are over crowded. Population needs to spread out to smaller cities and towns. I have lived in cities of all 3 tiers. Life is much better in tier 2 and tier 3 cities.
There are more than 30-40 metro cities in china and usa like Columbus ,Atlanta ,Memphis , Portland ,Denver ,houston in usa and jinjiang ,chogging ,xingxiang , Guanzhou ,Hangzhou etc in china whereas
We have only 7 cities which are Pune ,Hyderabad ,Bangalore ,delhi ncr ,mumbai ,Kolkata and Chennai only
So only these 7 cities have big chunks of population working in corporate sector . Whereas in usa and China people are distributed in 50 cities working in MNCs . Also cities like delhi ,Pune ,Bangalore have so many colleges that again increase the use of ola and uber by college students . infrastructure is also problem because cities in usa and China have wide roads but the main problem is only population density in our 7 metro cities specially Bangalore ,Pune and delhi
China has amazing public transit, usa too has traffic issues despite lower density and too much road transportation
Seriously! Only 7% of Indians own a car vs 91% of US.
If we even have to hit 14%, Effectively doubling cars on Bangalore roads, can you image the situation. Might as well walk from Hebbal to Silk Board jn.
And dont even get me started on the busses and trucks. They’ll never be able to navigate the traffic.
Urban cities are good and needed. Its easier to exchange value when goods services and expertise is available in the geographic area.
Think of it like the shopping mall. Its easier to go to a mall and get multiple items, clothes , eat food and watch a movie all in one evening.
Could you image getting all those things done if its spread out.
The solution as you guys rightly mentioned could be pockets of self sustained circular economies.
Ola can just roll out an update and boom💥
Ola share uber all do then already?
They had share. And discontinued it.
I Personally feel this is one of the best startups for India rn, because as India is growing and people are slowly getting out of poverty and having some income to dispose of the first thing would be to get their own car (which everyone dreams of) but if we make the idea of less traffic and public transport more popular it would be way beneficial for the country. I am 22 rn and I always think if I make it big in the future the one thing I'll try to change is the traffic problem in our country so I'm really happy to see this already has started
Say I go from my home to office every single day in my own car by myself. So I put the same on this app. And there are 2 people by my same neighborhood who goes to offices at or place near to my office so I can take them with me everyday and in return they can give me some money which can reduce or completely eliminate my monthly fuel or even maintenance expense. This is a very good concept
Lmao, what's the difference between this and uber 😂. Moreover rich people won't share their cars and unemployed people will buy cars for earning thus making the situation worse.
Fares ₹
That's the biggest one. You'll always find car pooling atleast 30% cheaper compared to taxis.
On top of that the one you're pooling with is not your hired driver hence no privileges which comes with having a driver.
My office used to be 9km in Pune. Uber auto used to cost me 140-160rs per ride. Normal shared auto costed me 30rs but had to walk like 10 min each side and average cost of quick ride was 45rs per ride because the owner would take 3-4 people according to the seats available in their car. So, the fares are 4 times less than a Uber. You must be really stupid to compare this with Uber.
I don't know where you are from but your mentality is very poor. People in Banglore and Pune use this method to commute to office. Well to so people shared rides with people like me who didn't had the means to buy a car.
@@manish007142the issue here is that its not reliable. I cannot count on someone’s side hustle as a reliable way to get to work. The uncertainty becomes a headache especially because the owners of the car are not liable.
Good public transportation is the best solution. Use electricity instead of oil to reduce the cost. Take blusmart for example. They can offer cheap and reliable rides bcz they use EVs and the drivers dont cancel.
Blusmart is not public transport per say but acts in the similar way. Just that we pay upfront and not routed through the taxes we pay to govnt.
The host has spoken. The waffle house will rise up
Indians don't even eat Waffle,
It tastes bland and horrible anyway,
Along with this public transport need to be improved a lot and encourage people to use the same. For this number of services need to be increased based upon the rush..
Very nice initiative.. reduces the traffic by opting car pooling and convenience on your fingertips with great comfort in the car.
I'm your this app. For more than 4yrs. As bita user i started. Now there drastic change the user interface superb app. And idea
Safety is vulnerable through this , managing infrastructure should be the answer for traffic jam
Sharing is not always possible bcz of our urgencies and works.Would like to see how the founders will make it successful.I hope this will be successful.
I don't know whether this start up will solve traffic issue but nowadays i m seeing CZcams is solving all unemployed earning issue
It was started long back 2016, I used to go office through this quick ride car pooling. It's very convenient to use
Yes, I had registered in quickRide and provided few rides with my car back in 2019
Multiple times, very simple concept solving very critical problem
In Mumbai most of us use Sride which is popular among car pool community. The concept is really great. All the profile's are verified so there is no any security concern. It helps to grow our professional network as well. Overall a good idea. I am actively using it for past couple of months and its a big relief from the hectic & over crowded railway & bus travel. Although app lags a bit but that can be improved over the time.
How do people come up with such brilliant ideas? Genius
Pool ideas😂
reason for traffic in bengaluru is due to heavy vehicles occupying most of the roads and they move insanely slow. great initiative but not many will use it
Yes
I took Quick Ride in Bangalore for multiple times and I found it amazing.
Also building walkable infrastructure with good public transport (trams, subways, bus, rideshare)
Improve the public transport in cities, make them affordable, and promote public transport. This is the only solution to reduce the traffic and pollution.
Yes I used in Bengaluru ... Waiting to use in Hyderabad
Quick ride really good idea. I was using before Covid. But due to Covid new idea generated which is WFH :)
9 years back usa had uber share so nothing out of blue... but Indian auto mobile companies totally against it ... traffic vs car sales
Yes, all the possible ways must be tried. It's better to move from the Ownership economy to the rental/service economy but along with that there must also be certain restrictions from the government for new car buyers like what we have in Singapore and Japan. It's not necessary to be implemented in all around the country but major cities where there is lots of congestion.
Expanding infrastructure and motorable roads is even more simple
The problem is, with road conditions, tiny roads, and horrendously designed intersections, traffic will always flow badly
I've got a better idea, let's make this car bigger and also run frequently according to a system. That way its more reliable, safer and more efficient all the while reducing emissions down to a single vehicle (you might feel like it sounds familiar to some other thing but its just your feeling)
We have so many essentials stored in our car for everyday use. And safety security cleanliness music comfort are the extra benefits.
In other words, you are not stuck in traffic, you are the traffic
Before corona I used to use quick ride daily.. It was very good experience.. People were very nice and sometimes they used to drop me nearby home ttaking long routes..
This in my opinion would increase the number of cars on the road as every car owner would want to be the one main person with whom others would carpool.
No startup can actually improve traffic . Its upto the government to guve alternatives to Cars , such as public transport busses , Trains , and bicycle lanes .
Yes Always a Ride Share and it makes so much sense !!
Please bring it to Chennai and make it a safe journey too.
I have been a happy quick ride user since 2021.
Car pooling is old concept in the world but for india it's new
They never sent me my money after car pooling😂😂😂😂 since then I've removed it
People can join your ride only if they have money in the quick ride wallet and it gets credited to the car owner's wallet as soon as the ride ends. So no issues there.
If 95% of Indian cars are parked, doesn’t it mean that not everyone uses their cars.
Issuance of driving licence without proper examinations is also a vital reason behind traffic jams in India, doesn’t matter if people are taking public buses/etc or pooling. As because, improper knowledge/sense of driving on roads also causes unnecessary crowds. Government must work on correcting corrupt RTOs.
I think restrictions of heavy vehicles, decongestion of city by moving companies outer to city should be the prime focus. People love to take there own vehicles for there comfort.
I have taken many rides . During half of my pregnancy journey i have used Quick ride which was much better than taxi. People were so cool and i was completely enjoying this for couple of years before covid. Made couple of good friends too
I have taken Quickride or S-ride in some states, the people who drive these car are not cab drivers but they are the people working in the same company as yours or working in close vicinity to your office. They have to verify their profile by using their company e-mail so it's usually safer than cab/auto service, saves time and is affordable too. But the problem nowadays I see is that the local autos and cab drivers are trying to shut these car pooling apps down and many a times they harass common people because these services harm their business.
Have been using it for a while now. Very satisfied.
I am a bangalorean. I use quick ride to go and get back to office. The app has background verification process where a ride giver or ride taker has to update their work email id. The verification is done and that's how we know if we are safe or not. Before COVID there used to be uber pool and ola share option. Quick ride is very much similar but veryuch safer as you know that the person works in a certain organization. It's very affordable compared to cab.
I have taken almost 500 rides on quick ride till 2022. But recently after Jan 2023 no one is accepting or allowing me for rides so I stopped using the app and bought a bike for myself
Saved a lot of money…Made some good friends….good app
I used Quick Ride between 2018-19 mostly, very less as someone who need to pool and mostly as the person providing option for pooling. Although it was bikepool instead of carpool but the people who I used to pool with, said it's really convenient and doesn't matters if it's a four-wheeler or two-wheeler. Infact it wasn't easy to get carpool as people were mostly regulars and they didn't post their ride on Quick Ride simply because it was full beforehand.
The idea is very very noble but people found a way to bypass the platform charge. For Pune and Mumbai, it even provided intercity carpooling, something BlaBlaCar is famous for.
Same problem with traffic and education. Less traffic and less colleges for more people. Govt needs to take an initiative
I have used Quick Ride, and yes it's so practical! I don't like driving, and the person I shared the ride with was a good driver. You get to network also
NCR has Uber shuttle and Shuttl operating private buses. That is even more effective than car pooling in terms of reducing traffic congestion.
I have used quick ride for daily commute to office and it’s really cool
Gov should do free public transport in heavy traffic cities
Ok bro , this was like taking a cab , but to solve this , the general public should use the public transportation as it grows the revenue and more profit for government and also reduce the carbon emissions as well 😎😎🙏
Using since 5 months great concept
This app is helpful . Yes costly compared to public transport but cheaper than uber/Ola.
Here in Bengaluru , the car owner started becoming like taxi driver.. most of the people (mostly ladies ) does not even give any respect to car owner and show same attitude they show towards ola or uber and take it for granted.
And then when you opt as a passenger the car guy often does not show up on time and says excuse that he left his/her home late.
Auto/tok tok drivers who have been driving share seat for decades: *"I'm four parallel universes ahead of you"*
This works in metro cities only. I will never give up the comfort of using my car, stopping it wherever I want for a cup of tea and resuming my journey. Private cars are not going anywhere. Build infrastructure like China or Dubai.
New way of starting a business 😁
During office days I also used this app it is good.
Bengaluru needs them
I used this app very frequently when I worked in Bangalore
Best option is to improve public transportation first 🙏
wow, innovative idea : Car Pooling, exists since long. Many have tried, but car pooling is not becoming mainstream for multiple reasons.
😂😂...Delhi NCR People Doing This From Last Many Years.....
This will help to small percent .. but only solution is to decentralisation new tech park proposal.. it's like u keep bringing more goods to ur hall and say hall space is too less .. either stop buy more goods or start decentralisation of goods to bed room kitchen and living room but again there is limitations of quantity of goods which can be fitted in 2 bhk..
It's one of the best solution.
Abundant professional public transport on all routes is the solution. But politicians and the powerful want their pound of flesh in that too.
Yeah my mom always told me to get into a random stranger car just so that I can save the planet 😅
I have used Quickride. Got to say I loved it.. you get to socialize with other people too along the way to the office. And it's way cheaper than cabs and obviously faster than public transport.
Main reason behind a lot of cars is the desire to show status once you have money.
I have used Blablacar in 2015 for cr pooling from Pune to Nagpur. It was a good experience overal
There was something call Uber/ola pool around 2018-19.
I am a Native of Bangalore, Never heard of this process locally in here...
Public transport and infrastructure should be improved. There is traffic problem in Hyderabad as well, and it is already getting worse than Bengaluru.
No doubt .private cars are traffic jamars. But must be parking place to cars with in the area
