  • By request I'm taking a look at The Water Pillow by Mediflow. This pillow can be adjusted by adding or removing water. There's also a short Q&A at the end. I also mistakenly called my Nutribullet blender a Ninja, which is inexcusable on my part! Here's a short update 1 year later: • 10 Previously Reviewed...

I always had stiff neck and pain and constantly was getting that sharp pain behind my shoulder blade (usually the left). I got the original micro bead pillow he sold and I think in more than 12 years now, I’ve only had that shoulder blade pain twice and the neck pain once. I replaced the pillow once in that time and now he has a new style of it out which looks interesting.

Chiropractor here...like your review. I have this pillow in my practice and the main reason I recommend it is due to the ability to adjust the firmness. I do not recommend this pillow to anyone that is a predominant stomach sleeper. Obviously this does not apply to all stomach sleepers but I feel it is a very supportive pillow overall, even when set up "soft" and for stomach sleepers it will likely create more neck pain than alleviate it. You hit the pros and cons well and I share those with my patients. I did see one comment in regards to cats...if you have them and they sleep with you, do not get this pillow. Common sense definitely applies here! :-)

      Hi, greetings!
Could you give a medical suggestion, please?
My back scalp heats up a lot, hence can't use natural cotton neither synthetic fibre not foam pillows.
I have been using cotton towels rolled up.
But they still heat up the back of scalp.
The only advantage is that, the rest of my head gets air, unlike in a pillow ,where just as the back of head sinks in, the all-around head area is in contact with the pillow & heat stays trapped; not dissipated.
Now, while I understand that water might help dissipate heat, but then, this water pillow will not help cool, because the water layer is in between 2 foam layers, which do not dissipate heat,
My query thus, is-- will gel pillows alleviate this condition?

I'm on my second water pillow in about 15 years. Once I switched to these, I never looked back. I had major neck issues that disappeared after only 3 nights with my first water pillow. The trick is getting the exact thickness that's most comfy. I've found the padding stays pretty decent for the first 3-4 years and with some fluffing, you can get another couple of years out of it if properly cared for. I lost track of the money and amount of pillows I went through trying to find one that didn't kill my neck. I'll never take that for granted again. It's rough having to sleep away from home now because that neck pain comes creeping back. I'm a side sleeper so my arm is under the pillow and is indeed cool. That's sucks in the winter though lol

I slept on a water bed for near enough twenty years, but mine was a water tube design where it was just seven or eight long vinyl tubes that had to be filled individually and laid into the foam mattress form. It was a rather unique bed design, but a pain to maintain, as the tubes would occasionally develop leaks. I've yet to find any other bed that offers the kind of deformable support that a water bed can, but I also haven't been willing to spend $3k on one of the top of the line Temper-pedic all foam mattresses.

About 20 yrs. ago, I used a water pillow I bought at the Brookstone store. I loved it! Unlike this one, the water chamber was more in the middle of the pillow, so I could flip the pillow and use either side. Also, generally, the pillow stayed cool for long enough, & I could flip it when I needed it cool again. The pillow you’re demonstrating seems a little easier to fill than the one I had. I used mine for years until it somehow got a puncture in it. I could never find another water pillow again. Definitely interested - I feel like it would provide better neck support than most pillows. Most pillows get pushed all the way down by your head so there's nothing under your neck, but this would probably displace the water to go under your neck for support.
Incidentally, waterbeds basically worked the same way as this - I had a couple back in the day and really miss them. Good ones had large "dampers" that were essentially padding to keep you from sloshing around, but the water still provided perfect support right where you needed it - it was basically self-correcting support. Air mattress beds like the Sleep Number beds are the closest thing I've found to that feeling.

I’ve used a water pillow for about 8-9 years and it’s still my favorite. As he describes in the video, the key is finding the right amount of water to get the firmness just right. The pillows usually last me 2-3 years before they need to be replaced because the cushioning eventually goes flat. I’ve never had a single leak with the 3 pillows I’ve had since I started using them.

All my life I had problems with headaches during sleep. It would last for about an hour after I got up and then be gone. About 15 years ago I tried the water pillow. That was the end of my headaches. This was awesome! The only other pillow that had ever helped was a $100.00 for a down pillow. However, that only lasted for about 2 weeks and the headaches were back. $200.00 a month for pillows is not in my budget. The water pillow keeps the headaches away for about 3 years, then I need to get a new one. In fact, I ordered one just before watching your video. I am going to try the gel toped one this time. It's back to the $100.00 price but if it lasts like the others, it's still worth it. Other than that, it is just a good quality pillow. However, if someone has problems with their pillows especially headaches, it's worth a try.

EvanJS2005 err it’s a joke and yes they do! That’s exactly what any vacuum cleaner does... also I own a V10 absolute and it is pretty cool but the battery will not last a long time.

Dysons are trash. There was a time when they made decent products, but that's long, long over. Ask pretty much anyone who works on vacuums (and doesn't have a financial stake in selling Dysons). If you want a good vacuum look at Sebo, Miele, or Numatic.

A mate picked up one of these pillows unused second hand along with a memory foam pillow to stuff inside a waterproof backpack and use as a quad bike seat. We didn’t actually know what it was when he bought it and though it was a gel pillow or something. Anyway we filled it nearly full and stuffed it in the bag with the other pillow underneath it. It lasted quite a while to be fair but it did eventually leak. Felt decent while it lasted and u can kind of feel the bladder move around when your sat on it but it’s obv not made for fully grown lads bouncing around on it. We cut it open and it’s basically a regular pillow with a soft plastic bag between the filling like what u get in a camel back

3:33 then stop, drain out air until you hear no sloshing, just like INSTRUCTIONS said, then do a fair review of how product performs.
