When I was in the military and we started deploying to the middle east beginning with Desert Storm and for years afterwards, the Casio G Shock was on most wrists in my units. They were durable, accurate and dirt cheap. The only thing that I encountered was the realization of the warning that the LCD could go black at high temperatures. I'd never seen this before being deployed to Saudi Arabia in the Summer. The watch would go black and return to normal when it cooled down. Still, it was the watch of choice for most of us.
@@JxyDxffxrent has the same happen to me in my homecountry in summer , the display digitizer starter glitching and turned black.. at 47-49*C , went back to normal when it cooled down. did you sweat a lot with the resin gshock band ? thats the #1 issue for me.. my wrist suffocates under the resin and sweat all the time and its nasty. thats why i can only wear watches with metal bracelets now
Just to be exact, this is the updated GW-M5610u-1 even though Walmart still lists it as the 5610-1. You can tell the difference by looking at the “light” text on the face. The older 5610-1 uses text “EL BACK LIGHT”
I landed in Hong Kong in the fall of '83 and bought my first G-Shock. I had it until it was lost in a house fire in 2020. I recently bought one of the new metal ones and love it.
I had the original version of this watch in Junior High. One of my favorites. I also loved being able to hit it against a brick wall without it breaking. I had several friends try the same with their watches with less than optimal results.
I own the red face (Darth Vader) model. It has been a very reliable work (construction site) and workout watch (timer and stopwatch). I also deal with people in multiple time zones around the world. I keep their time zones saved in mode 2. Even if I'm not wearing this watch I will still look at it to verify different time zones. It is not a huge watch, either. It fits great. I don't think I could ever be without this watch.
I’m wondering if anyone see that the line on bottom were is the power indicator are crooked or the module isn’t straight. Teddy what do you think? I have 2 GWM5610 one U and the other one is the normal with negative display and 1 GW5000U and I have the same problems.
@@RahulKadari1I know I saw this on CZcams. The only solution is a MIP-watch with multiband 6, tough Solar integrated, and the electronics of a non-MIP without bluetooth. And that's already on the market. That's the 5000u or 5610u😊

Interesting. Never heard of this. Thanks for your service.
On wrist today. One of my favorites

Thankyou I just wanted to mention that aswell
Bought it yesterday!!!! ❤ My only battery watch! Love it!
This one doesn't have a battery. It's solar powered.
@@razormonkey5000 so the sun charges what? Omg! 😀
Gshocks are THE beater watches like theres no way this thing gonma crack before the earth splits in half
This was my first G Shock and I bought 2 all metal Japanese G Shocks since I’m in Japan right now
Classic and iconic. Anyone who has this you know is a watch geek. 🤓😎
This is the perfect digital watch. I love wearing it.

Bought one on the back of your video Teddy, and I love it!
Almost always on my wrist. Superb watch.
Wearing one right now, I've just recommended it to my son as his next watch purchase. My default watch in a collection of 50+.

My service watch in the infantry!
The 40 years black limited edition is smoothless!
Love this watch! 👌 It’s also a great modding candidate.
This is why I own this watch and it's the only one I use almost every day.
This one gets the most wrist time on me above all my other watches
The blue back light is pretty cool and I love the orange incandecent on mine.
Got one for Christmas. Best digital I’ve had.
I got the 5610 from Amazon yesterday. It was very small on my wrist and I didn't like the lighting. I really wanted to like it, but I couldn't.
Led light much better then the green or blue lights 🫡
I always thought it was big until i tried it...
I have a black out resin and it's more practical than my full metal square.
On my weekly rotation. Must have!
Its my work watch. Had it on my wrist for years.
The real 2024 tool 🔧 🙌 watch
got it in 2020. Its really good.
I have one. It’s great!
All the best.👍🏾😉🇬🇧
On my wrist right now. Simple and clean look. Also indestructible haha
Mine was killed by an unfortunate rock strike when I fell skiing.
Great gearhead watch you can get your hands in most tight spots without it getting caught on everything.
Would you recommend other similar dates i temd to work different parts of country
Rock this everyday over my apple watch and my GAB2100-1A. Unless I don't have the RCVD notification up top.
Simply awesome 👌
Does a digital quartz watch really have a “movement” 🤔??
The watch I use to set all my other watches

I will get one.
Have it or very similar classic
A168 till i die.
Cost plz we're iam buy this product
Casio's website has them for $150 and 20% off right now.
Nah, the terrorist Casio is my pick. 😊
Simple watches..
Classic Timex Ironman is just as ‘iconic’
GBD200 might be a better recommendation.
Unfortunately, no. Reports bluetooth sucking battery empty, so standard off mode. Regardless, every 9-12 months battery change. No mip for me.
@@jdhuisen235 the only rip off I think this model have is the delay in process. Dead slow.

Radio controlled time accuracy only works if your somewhere around Colorado. That's where the signal comes from. It doesn't reach me in New England.
Mine works great in Illinois
Works great in Holland
@@jdhuisen235 I was talking America specific. I don't know where your signal comes from. But for me I'm too far from ours.
As one of the most sought collection? Definitely. But as beater watch? Buy cheaper Gshock DW5600E or Casio F91W
Apple Watch
Series 7
Lol will never understand why people like G Shock. Just an ugly digital watch
Looks are not a priority here. The watch is so damn good and capable that people happily forgo its looks.
Better than apple or garmin
Stop complaining you know you broke 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@m.andrejas2330he knows he got no money to buy one that’s why he say is ugly like his mom 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
