Holland America Buffet Dinner & Late Night Snack on MS Eurodam (4K)

- See what food Holland America has available at its Lido Market buffet for dinner & late night snack, specifically aboard the signature class cruise ship MS Eurodam. Most of the dishes were very good and made with care and finesse.
Some of the best food from dinner included:
* Rosemary Garlic Lamb Chops
* Shrimp Cocktail
* New York Steak with Garlic Butter
* Prime Rib with Yorkshire Pudding
* Coconut Mille Feuille
* Baked Lobster Macroni Cheese
* Caribbean Rum Cake
From the late night snack buffet, our favorites were:
* Fried Macaroni & Cheese Balls (yes- you heard that right)
* Mini Pork Katsu
* Chicken Almond Tenders
* Stir Fried Beef and Broccoli
* Porchetta Sandwich
* Coffee Cheesecake
On this particular cruise, we did not see broiled lobster tail at the buffet, unlike when we were at the MS Amsterdam on a 14 day Alaska cruise:

There was a special seafood night that had an exciting ceviche bar and many other seafood dishes.
The only downside to the Holland America buffet dinner- it closes too early at 8:30 PM. Late night snack does commence for an hour starting at 10:30 PM, but hey you're on a cruise and those are 2 whole prime time hours without buffet food, lol. One other thing that can be improved is the beverage service- on Princess Cruises, Holland America's sister brand, crew member will bring you drinks at the buffet restaurant.

Recently on Eurodam. When buffet closed at the Lido at 8pm, the Main Dining Room served until 9pm. Also on the same deck as the Lido Market Buffet, NY Pizza which also served some salads and a few desserts remained open until 1130pm. You have no excuse to go hungry, plenty of opportunities to eat. Late night buffet 1030 pm until around 1115.

I'm kinda hungry! Let's have a virtual dinner! Aside from the salad bar, I'll have the lamb (chops/shanks) along with some vegetables! I may not be dessert person (except in specialty restaurants) but I love my rolls and cheese plate!

Yep, I went there! I had lots of salads, natchoe plates, cheese burgers, steaks. crab cakes, sushi, lamb shanks, vegetarian options,, rolls and cheese. The duck was nice too! I was dissapointed in the vegetable stir-stirs (4 mushy green beans!) The stir-fries were already overcooked and reheated!

The late-night offerings seem pretty substantial with a nice variety. I don't think any of the other cruise lines I've looked at keep their buffet open late. Maybe Norwegian had a few tiny bits out after dinner when I went before the pandemic.
It will be interesting to see how food on princess compares to HA.
After watching your videos, I am thinking of bringing my Dijon mustard and mint jelly (for the lamb). Did you notice these condiments in the buffet?
Lamb was served with mint jelly in MDR. The chefs are very accommodating when you ask politely.
With all that available, who needs the dining room?
There are HAL crew members at the buffet who serve drinks, both alcoholic and non.
Yeah we noticed that they do now that for the lunch & dinner buffet during our recent cruise on the Veendam. They didn't do it for the late night snack but no biggie.
TravelTouristVideos I was on the Eurodam in Dec 17 for a western cruise and they definitely had the servers making the rounds. I will agree it is hit and miss.
We were Eurodam during that time as well- perhaps we were on the same cruise! Really enjoyed the ship, service & food overall of the Eurodam.
TravelTouristVideos I was on the Dec 3 sailing. And the food was every bit as good as you make it out to be. I think they’ve upped their game vs a few years ago.
All looked absolutely delicious; however, who needs all that food before you go to bed??? A bit much!
For sure- for us we usually would only do this once a cruise!

Late night snack is a waste IMO. Let the crew have some rest. Plus you eat from 6am-9pm (NCL). How much more do you need to eat? Such gluttony
I’m not sure I get it. If you ate that much, that late, then how would you fit in a delicious breakfast? Maybe some skip breakfast??

But what if you were busy on an excursion or doing something else and didn't get to eat dinner at an early time. Having the buffet available would be great. Some cruise ships close their buffet at 8 pm.
I noticed recently that the entertainers and select officers would come to the late night buffet. It was a pleasure to talk to them and learn from them. I usually enjoy just a cup of coffee and a cookie or ice cream for dessert.
