Appreciate it! We loved DeMeco as a Texan, he became our defensive team captain as a rookie and killed it as a MLB calling all the audibles and reading the offense and relaying to those not seeing it instantly and changing on the fly, especially against Manning's audible play calling. Together at MLB - DeMeco Ryans & Brian Cushing were absolute monsters together, i wouldn't doubt it if he brings Cush as a LB coach to help. DeMeco has an insanely high football IQ & we are super excited to lock him up for at least 6 years. He has already brought in the best edge rusher the draft had, plus our new franchise QB.

They shoulda just drafted Anderson & kept their 1st in next year’s draft which is the strongest class in at least 20 years. What’s worrying about Stroud is his intelligence which gets more & more apparent the more you listen to him talk.

I don’t think there is enough excitement about CJ. CJ gone be the main piece that turns this thing around for us and you can tell from the tone in the calls ownership wanted Stroud and coach and GM wanted Anderson.
I’m so proud of the front office and our team! We went out and made a big move to get our guys! I have a lot of hope for the team’s future! I haven’t been this excited or proud to be a Texan in a while!

Casario...DeMeco and Slowik gave CJ a TON of great route runners in both FA and the draft...They also gave him good protection pieces so he can stay on his feet and flourish!!!
This is part of that "SWARM" mentality they are building here on defense...but we have built that mentality on the offensive side of the ball as well!!
CJ is accurate....His quiver of great "route running" receivers are gonna get open at 10-15 yards and he will be able to easily get the ball into their hands....Yards after catch is our receiver's specialty....Every receiver on our roster is good at it.
CJ's proven backfield and our perceived "slot receiver" style core will get moved around to carve up defenses across the middle with great route running and will also eat the clock with our hard hitting running backs....moving the chains and getting first downs in the process....
I also think we will see the occasional deep out and up big "highlight reel" play to take advantage of broken coverage.
Cuz who doesn't like highlight reels!!!! 🤠
My only worry is if Cj can get along with Slowik, he has trust issues and idk maybe I’m over thinking bc of what happened with yk who 😒
@@lumineer_3 I think he is going to realize Slowik's system will be a quick release / stay upright Kub/Shan thing that will help him play clean and move the ball down the field resulting in touchdowns.

The WR from Houston is a speedster with great route running and great hands. If he played in the big 12 he would have been a first rounder.

Seahawks fan here, but speaking as a football fan in general it's insane how well this has aged. Pretty much a complete 180 of the last couple of seasons and it's been mad entertaining to watch so far! You guys have a great thing going on at the minute 💪

I can just see from the expressions and reactions that the coaching and gm wanted Will Anderson and the ownership wanted CJ Stroud. Nonetheless both are going to be dawgs and I can’t wait to see their success!
One extremely undertook aspect of having Will Anderson is how much he’s going to push Stroud and be there for him mentally as they go through this together. Stroud has great potential to bring us championships and the pressure he will have will be enormous.
I would’ve given up more if I needed to, to secure Will Anderson. Not even because of his incredible football talent, but mainly because of the elite leadership he will bring to both sides of the ball for the next 13 years+.
We are just getting started with the Era Of Good Vibes here in Houston and I can’t wait to go on this journey with these incredible coaches and players!

So excited for this season
It's kind of sad that only our rookie QB has no real mentor in the locker room. The only vet is Case, and his style of play is polar opposite to Stroud's. Anderson has a raft of Alabama guys to make him feel at home. Dell IS at home. But C.J. is on an island. I hope it makes him draw closer to his coaches and makes him focus on his game, but I feel sorry for him. I'm sure he'll develop relationships here. He seems like somebody who values relationships more than some. It could be a hard and lonely start for him at the very beginning though.

Will Anderson is different dude’s a hofer no doubt
There are 4-5 premium positions that are hard to secure elite talents in the NFL: QB, Edge, LT, CB, WR. Outside of WR the Texans have the cornerstone pieces in place already with the move to take Will Anderson and CJ Stroud early in the first round. They have a franchise LT, an elite EDGE defendr, a dominant CB, and their Franchise QB. Houston still has has picks in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, two 4ths and 9 overall picks plus the most projected cap room in the NFL as per Over the cap in 2024 (currently 150 mil...although that will change as the team may extend a couple of players)....so bottom line is that teams that give up that much capital in a draft usually have a bare cupboard the next year or so, but not the Texans. Texans can add 2-3 of big time FAs next season with all that cap room and not many existing vets with a contract beyond 2004...so no huge dead cap hits coming their way and the ability to extend anyone who plays well this season like say, TE Dalton Shultz, or RT Titus Howard.
I mean they picked up the biggest at sleeper in the entire draft in tank Dell most production outta any wr in the entire draft not even jsn had back to back 1300+ yard seasons and back to back seasons 17,12 tds if he was bigger he’da been the first wr1

The Texans just changed the game. Caserrio got his guy in Stroud. I was so glad Carolina took Young. He could be great but he's 5'10".... But they swing for the fences. Will Anderson could have been the first pick if there wasnt a QB needy team. Chicago messed up. They should have kept that top pick and took Anderson.
