When we lived in Louisiana and the Fam of Origin was in Chicago and they expected us home for the holidays, we always got sick each year changing climates and flying. You poor thing. When we had kids, I refused to do it. I missed our family terribly for the holidays, but I watched my bros do it with their kids and they all got ear infections and were so sick every holiday. It didn't seem worth it. I love visiting people in the summer and fall. Thanks for filming through it all. You'll be well soon and think of the knitting you'll get done!

You made a Covid ornament! You will probably always remember it. Hope you and hubby feel better soon!
On the single crochet before the color change, pull the new color through the last two loops on your hook, so the next sc already has the color on the hook and that loop will be on the top of the correct stitch. Hope this helps

Oh Liz, sorry you got the crud. No fun - ever!!! I was laughing internally as I watched you crochet. WHY? Because, that is how I am with crochet!!! Which is why I prefer knitting. With knitting, I know how to "read" my stitches, so I can find mistakes and correct them. Not with crochet. I can barely figure out when a row ends and a new one begins. I like to crochet, but I have not figured out how to read the stitches. I'm loving your Ruby and Roses advent. I went over to her website. She is quite a talented, young lady! So sorry you got sick. Maybe getting Covid now will keep you from getting sick again at Christmas and through to your anniversary, though. I've been enjoying watching as you open each of your advent bags/boxes. I don't knit but I love the yarn. I also really enjoyed seeing the various places you visited in South Bend. My son lived there for 2 years and I didn't see as much as you showed in your vlog. The only thing I recognized was the bridge! Hope you are doing better by now and that your hubby is recovering well. Truthfully, sick Liz was kind of fun to watch. Your ornament turned out really well. It was round shaped exactly like it was supposed to. I call that a win. Looking forward to more vlogmas!

Can I suggest attaching a stitch marker to the last loop when pausing a crochet project. It prevents any unravelling.
I’ve had COVID about three times, and I was sick to my stomach also. Little tip, when using Etoile, use some thread conditioner. Get better soon. Merry Christmas!

I live in Arizona and every time I go back to Indiana to visit relatives I get sick. Last year it was covid, usually it's a cold that turns into bronchitis. And I wear a mask every time I travel. Hope you and your husband get well soon.

Hope you and Rob feel well for Christmas and to start the New Year! When you shared your crocheted ornament I thought the cats will love that! 🥰 I understand your feelings about getting sick on the plane. I’d never had a problem with motion sickness until a flight from Alaska with a lot of turbulence. Thankfully there were barf bags available. Then on a ferry crossing from Belgium to England… my friend and I were fine until all around us started barfing. We’re both RNs so we were trying to assist our fellow passengers but it was like it was contagious. You feel so weak and awful. We were helping each other disembark and had some very drunk guys take our backpacks and link arms with us and get us to customs. The storm closed things down and we ended up sleeping on the floor of the ferry building… at least you got home and now can recover. 🪡
Oh no!! Yeah turbulence doesn't upset my stomach, just my mind 😂 but that covid sure did a number on my stomach!

I had Covid the beginning of November, I'm still coughing. I didn't vomit but had sharp stomach pains. Doctor said Covid does weird things. I like your crochet ornament.
I am so sorry you got sick! I had vomited when I had COVID. Luckily I had some medication to help that. My stomach was not right for days. You three cats were trying to help your husband feel better. So cute! Give yourself a break. At least you were able to do something while feeling sick. Hope everyone is better with your next vlogmas videos.

I think you just need to shape the crocheted ornament with your hands to make it rounder. Ribbons would be pretty hanging from the top.. My crocheted pieces always need to be adjusted, usually too big. Definitely adjust before you get too far.

Oh no, sorry you & your husband both got sick with Covid! I got it In September, followed by a bad sinus infection. It took weeks to start feeling human again! Rest, & drink plenty of fluids. Feel better soon!

Traveling with COVID is the worst. I had to fly back from Amsterdam so sick and coughing and then came home and tested positive. Feel better ❤

I feel your pain. We flew out to visit family and within hours of the flight I started to have a headache, fatigue, body aches. I took a COVID test and sure enough, it was positive. We packed everything back up and drove home. Now we are spending our vacation time in quarantine.

You should label your crocheted ornament as a Holiday Rorschach Test.. At times i thought I saw reindeer. As a grouping the ornaments could make nice bowl fillers. Time will tell.

Omg. I couldn’t believe you were at my house of stitches. I love that place. I live several hrs away, but it is my go to. I like the way you can look at patterns, know the prices. It only takes a few days to get your order. You are one talent lady. Really appreciate all your sharing.
So sorry you have the dreaded Covid and had such a bad trip home! Love the Ruby and Roses yarn! Had never heard of them. I discovered Andrea Mowry of Drea Renee Knits’ pattern, The Traveler Shawl. Pulled some of my fingering weight skeins that I haven’t used. Looks like a very adaptable pattern for knitting up those skeins I bought with no plan. Just liked them when I bought them. She has a nice yarn utube. Get better and come stitch with the Friday group. We had 18 there at the Christmas party. Took up half of the restaurant!

I think you need to stand back further and look at your ornament. I think the color also makes a difference but I see the pattern like in the sample. The color makes a big difference. Yours looks incredible. Continue on and also feel better.
I’m so sorry you came down with Covid. I had similar symptoms. I didn’t throw up but was nauseous .i also thought I was coming down with a cold. I love the yarn. Almost wish I could knit. I am doing an advent box this year. Usually it has been with quilting but this year I am doing cross stitch stuff. Next year I’ll be doing a quilt box again. Have you ever heard of Soft Squares? I’m very impressed. Not my box watching someone else’s unfolding theirs. Hope you are up to your bouncy self again real soon.
