Such an inspiration. All us ‘crafters’ resemble this situation and have these same questions/issues/situations. 😂😂😂
Love your organization and yes, store your fabric next to the yarn. Don't hide the pretty fabric in the closet. Just my opinion. Love your flosstube, yarntube, and all your crafting endeavors!
Put the batting and uglier things in the elfa system and your pretty things on your shelves. It is recommended to keep yarn in a hank while storing because it does weaken the fiber.
I’m team Billy through and through! I agree to put the fabric next to the yarn BUT I have recently put much of my fabric onto the comic book boards and I am a believer!!! I cant believe how much fabric can be stored this way!
Love the yarn cupboard! I think fabrics should go behind glass on that far cabinet, and everything else should work in your closet. I love organizing my craft supplies! 😂. Really cute xstitch finish, and I love your socks!
I have most of my fabric (under three yards) on comic boards arranged in color order.
Awesome organization.
I think my mom has the same drawer system you have and the fabric really does weigh it down, but it can also hold a lot! Love the doors and visibility of the yarn!
If it were me I’d put all my pretties on the shelves and all the other stuff in the closet. I like to display my yarn and fabric where I see it all the time. My cross stitch is put away since everything is different sizes and they stick out on the shelves. I keep out my kitted stuff and wips, everything else is in my hall closet. Storage stuff put away, pretty stuff on shelves😉. Also I think you can condense your yarn a lot more and free up space for fabric. The shelves in the middle can still be the things you love to display and use for backdrop. My display is set up really pretty. It’s EVERYTHING ELSE that’s a pain in my butt. I’m so disorganized and can’t find anything😂my sister needs to come over and help me. She’s good with all of that.
I now feel like I need to start the deadly aquarium sal
I am nearly finished organizing my room/craft room/penthouse for a short person (meaning the room is on the first floor of a small house, rather than a giant room at the top of some 50 story building). 🤣 Doesn't it feel good to be able to find things again -- rather than, "where is that _____." I have everything labled, fabric sorted, WIPs organized by priority, and today my roommate is going to dust my shelves for me. Not only short I am, but partially disabled; I am not allowed on ladders. Love all your videos an enjoy watching all your accomplish.
It looks like you need a storage building for fabric like i have. My sewing room is full and i have a building with 70 tubs in it. My bad. I love fabric!!
The glass doors on the Billy bookcases look great and will keep dust off the yarn. 🧶🧶🧶
Watching you organize makes me want to organize. We shall see how that progresses. 🤭🤭🤭
You make me want to do all the things! Cross stitch, knitting, quilting, All. The. Things.
🤩🤩🤩
Oh what a beautiful finish “where flowers bloom.” I love it. Those cheerful flower colors in the border are so you! 💐
Thank you so much! 😊
Looking forward to seeing you at Stitch North again! Safe travels.
Yay see you there!
You got me all excited about the Billy doors. It turns out mine are too old so I’d have to replace mine. Now I need to decide if I want to do that or move to Kallax instead.
In the first minutes I remember waking and planning an Ikea run and then planning all it would allow me to get done after. Usually we would get home and all the kids would need to be fed, someone would have a game, etc. two weeks later the Ikea thing would still be in the car never unloaded, and yes those doors would be left leaning somewhere. A year later.... thanks for letting me live vicariously thru you and see how it can actually get done.
It all looks great, I agree with storing the fabric on the center shelf, it’s all too pretty to hide in the closet 🤩👍
I think I agree! I’ll have to work out a better spot for sure
Fun video! I love the glass doors!
Thanks so much!
Great idea to put your yarn out in the open, very inspiring! Thanks for showing the Deadly Aquarium SAL, I just bought it for my next project😊
Hope you enjoy it!
I too am obsessed with that seagull! 😂
I love how the doors look and how you organized that bookcase. It is always fun to have a kitty helper. Thanks so much Janine
Thank you! 😊
You had a busy, productive day
Your videos are so enjoyable to watch!! Nothing quite like a good craft room organization day! I started using Markup R- XP about a year ago and now won't stitch without it. It can be a little fiddly sometimes to get a pattern set up but it is well worth it and makes following a pattern so much easier!
You are such an enabler!! LOL I immediately went and ordered Where Flowers Bloom!
Your Billy Bookcase looks great!!!
I love those doors - once you are all organized, sewing will be more enjoyable because the organizing will be done.
I should try a mystery SAL- heck I should try a regular SAL
I almost bought the cross stitch buddy from market, could not justify spending the money when I had several patterns I wanted to buy. Maybe someday.
BTW you look great!!! Keep up the good work!!
The yarn is so pretty! Thanks for showing the process of organizing. I am currently in the fabric mess stage. That poor kitty is obviously neglected and never gets any attention. 😻😹🥰
She’s always so needy when she wakes up from a nap 😂😂
Huge congrats on all that straightening up. Your pretty fabric would look lovely on the shelves next to your yarn. You could always keep that one shelf though for your cross stitch pieces.
I have the Kallax units. I make the chipboard 7x11.5 inches and every piece of fabric that is 2 yds or less I wrap them like it is a fabric bolt. Less expensive and looks good. I’m not at home but I will send a picture tomorrow. Love your videos❤
I love your book shelves, especially with the doors. Your yarn cabinet looks so pretty, now you need to put your precuts on the shelves next door to the yarn. I like that pattern for the dress, I might just have to make one too. Thank you for sharing!!
I fold my fat quarters over comic book white board and set them long side vertically. Doing this and organizing the color I can enjoy them. When I am dreaming of a new quit they are easy to remove from the shelf and easy to return. Love your videos.
Thanks for lots of storage ideas! Happy stitching cheers!
Wow! Am working on reorganizing, too, and so appreciate your process. Thanks!
Classic Liz video! Loved it 😊
Yay, thank you!
Don’t you feel great!? Getting some tidying and organizing done, clears the cobwebs from my crafting brain. Looks amazing!
Beautiful finish. Love that fabric for your new start
I can’t wait to see your room all organized!!!
I love organizing!! My two cents is that you should display your pretty fabric bundles on the shelves. Reorganize some shelving for fabric storage - good luck and I look forward to seeing what you come up with ❣️❣️
Liz...loved everything you shared...congratulations on your sampler finish...safe travels and wishing you the best ❤❤
Thank you so much!
Love spending the day with you…I am feeling motivated…thanks!
Omg! I can’t wait to see a tutorial on that wrap dress!! 🩷🩷🩷
I have that blue daisy knit fabric! I made a drop waist skirt when I was in a larger size . Never wore it. I’m planning to use my seam ripper to take it apart and make a t shirt and maybe even pj bottoms. I enjoyed this video! Love organizing!
Love watching you organize. So much fun.
I loved seeing your room!!!
OMG, I absolutely love watching your videos…cross stitching, quilting, crafting and organizing…you make it look fun especially sped up 😂 you are so creative and talented and you have so many crafting skills…I love seeing you go from knitting to sewing clothes! I am very much like you and I have been trying new crafting and I love it!! So thanks again for taking the time to videotape and vlog🥰
You are a boss! Look at you putting up your glass doors! ❤ I need to organize more, okay, you motivated me to look at my shelves and see what I can do to organize them better. 😂
I enjoyed watching your organization video. I was impressed with your woodwork skills.
You got alot done!! That's usually how it goes...plan something, get distracted...but, still get alot done!! It's a WIN!! Can't wait to see more!!
Oh MY GOSH !! I missed you at Stitch North last year and managed to purchase one of your needleminders you left 😊but I will see you there this year! I hope you don’t mind if say hello
Hope you put fabric back on shelves. Looks so pretty there ! All of those odd and not so pretties in the closet. Plus that would be less weight on your closet bins. Good luck with your finish! ( I love organizing 🥰
You are a woman of many talents!! Look at you with the power tool!! Have a great time in Canada! Miss seeing you on Fridays, but know you are busy with work.
Pretty nails. Congrats on the finished product. The colors are so pretty. It is lovely. You accomplished quite a bit. As a viewer, it was very satisfying watching everything getting organized.
Loved your re-org video. I have to do the same thing in my craft room! I need to work on sorting my yarn, mostly sock yarn, and the quilting projects and cross-stitch projects! Ugh!. You gave me some great ideas but I don't have an IKEA near me. The closest one is in the Dallas area which is 2 hours away. I might end up buying bookcases from Target or Walmart!
When I came back to stitching, using my iPad for charts was a game changer! I will never go back! 😍
I truly enjoy how your independent creativity shines in this video. I was like Go Girl when you hung the glass doors. Great Job! Looking forward to the next vlog! Fabulous finish Be Well
Love the video ! Elizabeth you Impress me installing the glass doors on your book case .You are simply amazing in all that you do!
This was fun to watch!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful finish. Great organizational ideas.
Omg Liz, so many projects. You are so creative ❤
Great job putting the doors in😊 and on your cross stitch finish! So pretty ❤
❤ the video. I love it when you do your stuff really fast. I wish I could get stuff done that fast😊
Love your vlogs. So jealous oh your JoAnnes ours in College Station is terrible
My whole craft room needs an overhaul lol
Enjoy your weekend at Stitch North - I was just there for the 1st weekend; too bad would have loved to say hello.
I LOVVVVVE a good organization video!😍 I t agree that the shelves would be better for the fabric. The needlework stuff is so lightweight, it would be perfect for the Elfa system. Well done!!❤️😊
Lived this video! It has sparked ideas in me for my own craft room organization. I am doing the Deadly Aquarium SAL also but haven’t started yet. I am currently on vacay and will start it when I get back.
Great job girl!! I wish I could move that fast!! You have inspired me to do some spring cleaning in my She Shed!! Have a wonderful safe trip!!❤
Your yarn shelves came out great! I'm sure the doors were a must with your furry trio around. 🐱
Thanks Helen! Yes, I really wanted to put them behind doors, I liked having some displayed in my bedroom shelves behind me when I recorded knitting episodes but it just feels much safer to keep it tucked behind doors!
It’s going to be great having your space organized. I look forward to seeing the finished room. Quite an ambitious project considering you are getting ready for Stitch North. Where Flowers Bloom is beautiful, how nice to have it completed. Have a great time at your retreat!
The Gingher scissors are the very best!
yes!!
Nice Progress!!! Do you have Room for storage under your table/desk? I use big clear storage containers with those lids that fold into each other for fabrics and shove them under 1 section. I have my cross stitch linen & evenweaves fabrics in a floor storage trunk, and Aida on a shelf! (No judging, lol). It takes Weeks to Organize, and then remember where ya put everything. GN
Such fun! Always enjoy your videos!
OK, I really want to see how you end up storing the fabric and everything else. I have a lot of space but not when compared to my crafts! I also do paper crafting and I'm getting ready to make another huge purge and donation to some art teacher somewhere.... But fabric is a major issue for me -- if only I could be Nichol Spohr! I love her bolts! But alas, I don't have THAT much fabric (or space I suspect). Also, how do you store your stitching linen? AND, while we're at it, I'm also doing the Deadly Aquarium and I love your start!
Those are absolutely my favorite scissors too. The little gingher ones. Rushed to Joann's website and found they are on a door buster deal right now, so ordered 2 more pairs, cause I only have the one pair. Can't go wrong at 40%.
Yesss! I love them!
I love the doors on the bookcase, especially with the yarn! Great eye candy!! And, you did the doors yourself! Good Job girl!!!
Thank you so much!!
If I only had 1/10th of your talent, I would be a happy camper. A book that you might be interested in: Tilly and the Buttons: Stretch!: Make Yourself Comfortable Sewing with Knit Fabrics - March 20, 2018 by Tilly Walnes (Author), Ellie Smith. Tilly also has patterns as well.
oh thanks for the tip! I'll have to go check out her patterns!
Your yarn cabinet turned out great! The glass doors really add so much. Where did your fabric end up?? I wouldn’t mind staring at some fat quarter bundles behind you when you film, lol. 😉 Your finished stitch is very pretty! I remember when you started it. Those silks are gorgeous. Lastly, gotta say it is so trippy to see the same places I go/shop when you vlog. Very fun. 😊
Thank you!! Right now most of it is in my closet drawers but I think a lot of it is going to end up in the center bookshelf, I’ll have to tackle that in a couple of weeks once I’m back from stitch north!
Have you done a video on how you finish and frame your cross stitch designs? I have just gotten back to cross stitch after many years and would like to do the whole process.
Loooove you yarn cabinet! I totally think you should put the pretty fabric on the shelf and put the finishing supplies and less used items in the closet. !!!
Funny to watch the kitties wander in & out in fast motion. Can’t wait for your next bag tutorial - I still need to make my cinched knitting bags. Please take us along on your knit garment sewing. I made a few cotton shirts then bought a bunch of knits because I wanted to make t shirts too but got a little “scared” because sewing with knits is a bit different.
looks wonderful! would love to see how it all comes together when you do the rest!!!
Such a fun insight into your storage and organization systems and ideas. Thanks for sharing.
Wow you got a lot done! Looks pretty darn good so far. 😊 👍👏🏻👏🏻
Love, love, love your dress fabric!
I'm with you, had such big plans, started with cleaning and organizing. Then only had time to sew 2 borders on a quilt. Weekends go by too quick!
You have motivated me to organize my craft room
Your 'snooper-visor' was adorable.
I have been holding off on the Billy bookshelves but you may have sent me over the edge. 😂 Also, it has been many years since I had Kerby Lane and the salivating continued the whole video.
I think I just got “influenced “! Putting off the Deadly Aquarium because so many other projects lined up! I’ve watched Lola’s SALs for three years and haven’t gone in yet, but yeah…I’m ordering tonight! I did have a finish yesterday….justifying! lol! Thanks for always having such interesting videos!
That's an awesome finish.
Your “Where Flowers Bloom” is beautiful! See you at Stitch North!
Thank you! See you there!
I love using Markup R-XP. Have fun at your retreat.
Loved there video. It was so fun to watch.
It’s a process and a rabbit hole!
Tapefree pattern printing based in Texas for your dressmaking! They have really quick turn around and is so much easier than printing a home.
I just ordered my pattern to be printed by them, thank you for the recommendation!!
I love your vlogs!
Loved your vlog today. I have renewed my interest in knitting after watching you. I will see you next week at Stitch North, I have a little something I have made for you. See you soon. Deb
What a fun video Liz!! As for printing that dress pattern, I follow a sewist who sends the pdf pattern to a print shop to be printed. She loves it and says a huge time saver.
oooh i'm going to look that up right now!
@@elizabethanncanstitch 😉❤️
Thanks for sharing ❤
See you in Canada!!!
It seems like most people cross stitch left to right. I cross stitch right to left (like you) and I think it’s because I learned to knit first and knit stitches are created right to left. What do you think?
