Pure magic😍
Takes me back to hearing Tim Hart, guesting with the Steeleye Span tour, soloing this song. So sad, but the song goes on.
Nice to see , Liam back on the drums . I guess most remember him for his Time with Gerry Rafferty in the Chipping Norton studios .
Fantastic! I saw Steeleye Span open for Jethro Tull in the 70s and they were fantastic, still are. Thanks for keeping the music alive.
Wonderful stuff
This voice takes me back to younger days of college and listening to Steeleye Span LPs over and over again.
Listen to the original by the author Martin Carthy on LP landfill
Beautiful, lovely performance!
So looking forward to the day when we can see them perform again.
You still got it
Lovely
The ups and downs , was another favourite of mine .
Love this song, can`t wait to see them live again, hopefully in May at Buxton Opera House all being well
You're amazing and we love you!
Having been on one of their singing workshops at Stones Barn, oh that I could sing like that.
Fantastic. 😍
magnificent!
Amazing 😻
I have noticed that the lyrics vary slightly depending on who is performing this wonderful song
As with any song people cover... Everyone puts their own stamp on it. Whether it's lyrics, particular musical arrangements, etc. Not that uncommon.
@@MGmirkin And that is the way that it should be as far as I am concerned. I have played in two gigging bands and also jammed with quite a few musicians over the years and it always discouraged me when the emphasis within the band was to replicate exactly (if possible) another artist's recording of any given song. My personal favourite version of 'The January Man' is probably Mike Harding's version.
great song, but do listen to the Christy Moore version
Mike Harding's studio version is my absolute favourite 😃 The guitar sounds amazing !
@@TheHumbuckerboy Oh abso bloomin' lutely! He is such a talented man.
