  • Welcome to my two hundred and seventy third video on my work with OO gauge.
This video will feature two Keyser kits for 7-plank end-door LMS open wagons. I will be building the kits, decorating the finished wagons, and running them on my Hornby 2-rail layout. Spoiler alert: these kits were difficult and time-consuming to build, with one being in worse condition and requiring much more corrective work than the other. If you watch this whole video, of course, you'll be able to see all of the details.
As always, if you have any questions about anything that I say or show in this video, or you would like more information about anything, please post in the comments below, and I will try to respond.

Hi Ken. Well, I have to applaud your tenacity! I would have given up a long time ago. It was just Sod's Law that you started with the worst of the two kits as you would have gained some insight (perhaps) had you started with the second kit. I looked up Keyser, but as the members of the family passed away, the fate of the company was rather vague. Anyway, your end result is, as you say, not perfect, but not bad.

Wow, Looks like K’s have (or had) serious quality control issues 😮
For the diagonal stripes, maybe masking and spray paint would’ve been easier? Just a thought…
