What I dunno is why the fuck he didn't invite Lucina, the person who actually killed Grima, Yarne, the guy who can turn into a fucking beast, Gerome, the guy with the last dragon on the realm, or Nah, the girl who can (alike Corrin and Kana) TURN INTO A FUCKING DRAGON.
Final Frontier Because again, the development team were blinded by the popularity poll... I guess. They thought it'd be nice to explain why this trio came to the world of _Fates_ via DLC, when it could've been explained in the actual game instead.
...Heck, their excuse for not involving Lilith in Revelation is 100% dumb.
Final Frontier If you think about it, Lissa, Olivia, and Cordelia were the characters that most people were going to marry (According to the staff) the only other people I think that could qualify would be Gerome and Brady (but even then, would he be a Sage or a War Priest? He was pretty split in my play through) Lucina has already had enough plot devoted to her, so that's out of the question, I don't think Cynthia would be included because of people's hate towards Sumia, Yarne and Nah wouldn't be included because we already have 6 characters who can turn into animals (8 if you include both Corrins and both Kanas), Morgan wouldn't be included due to varying classes, skills, and hair colour (she doesn't have a canon hair colour, unlike Owain, Inigo, and Severa), Kjelle and Laurent is COMPLETELY forgettable, and Noire's debatable

When I play Revelation, I'm so _not_ marrying anyone of these three to Corrin. I don't want them to stay in the land of Hoshido and Nohr, even if these are the trio who came from the Outrealm Gate.

I actually remember playing the DLC map in Awakening. It's the Mila Tree. So it's not actually a Valla map, it exists in that continent west of Ylisse.

Honestly, I'd be down for these three just continuing to show up sporadically.

A bit more generally, I wouldn't mind if they picked a few underused characters from whatever game and let them be in the next game. The Caledori/Rhajat/Asugi ambiguous reincarnation method works fine, but has less room for continuing their story.
For instance, I think Sophie and Shiro could be good characters, given more of a chance, and less Deeprealms baggage.
Three Houses actually used pretty much every student, but Petra and Ashe could have a little more screentime. It would be pretty funny if Balthus fled his debtors to another universe. And Flayn and Seteth could do with more focus , and with their lifespan and the lore, could conceivably show up most places reasonably.

@@Corvus_Clemmons Yeah, unless they specifically wanted to tie all the Fire Emblem worlds together more tangibly than just the Dragon's Gate, Seteth and Flayn probably won't happen. And this far removed from Awakening and Fates I'm not holding out hope for Owain's return either. If Nintendo still had a dedicated handheld line I could see FE having a set of smaller-scale games on it that would be more fitting for the kind of game with references like that.
For those saying that Anankos should've invited all of the kids of Awakening, we have to remember that Anankos was trying to be subtle with his choice. After all, he had to choose the bravest, most skillful, whilst not choosing the ones that are not subtle at all (Lucina with Falchion, Morgan with Grima's blood, Nah with being a manakete and Yarne being a taguel). Even after that, Selena, Owain and Inigo were still put into question about their origins, something that would've been extremely difficult to hide with other children.
i feel laurent and maybe Noire could of joined too. hell have then join hoshido would give them opposition of former friends. then they are at least not too important.
Either that, or at least have had a fourth Awakening child to serve as Elise's retainer, then there could have been an Awakening kid for each Nohr royal.

The dlc that made it seem like these 3 had a reason to be in fates but only revealed that they basically did jack shit to complete their mission in killing anankos
They had to be secretive. In revelations, before they went into the Bottomless Canyon, Laslow hinted/questioned if Corrin knows something. They were tasked to find Anankos's son and help gather all the legendary weapons. They weren't able to find out his name before they were ambushed.

I just love how the music of Fates gives off this, I dunno, overwhelming feeling. Like it screams "These characters aren't to be messed with, so you better be scared of this music". I can't really find the right words to describe it, however this one gives off a twisted but kind (or just kindly twisted lol) tone to it.
Point is, the music makes me think of the characters of Fates and it just makes them ten times the big deal they already are.
My thoughts exactly. It was because of this track and the DLC chapters that I included the Awakening trio in my team for Revelation. It felt sacrilege not to at that point.

Owain has the ability to reclass to Swordmaster in C/R, I just wish they'd have given him his Awakening Myrm/Swordmaster clothes back. The colors are there but the Hoshidan costume looks out of place on him.

@@juansolerXD Honestly, if this game were on the switch or something, then depending on the route you take, people could wear certain costumes for certain classes.
If a Nohrian were using a Hoshidan class in Conquest then their costume could be a Nohrian variation. But if a Nohrian were in Birthright, they'd just be wearing the Hoshidan outfit. And vise versa for Hoshidans.
And if you play Revelations, you could just choose the version of whatever class. Like in Three Houses.

My favorite part about this song is that after listening to the second, faster portion, the original feels almost relaxed in comparison. But opening the video, it still has that fast paced and manic feel, so when the first drop hits Im like "oh HELL yea I forgot how hard this goes!!"

You ever think about how if any other game gave you just 3 characters to beat the DLC maps with it'd be absolute madness, but Fates managed to pull it off thanks to all the mechanics it had in place to make that shit work and be alot fairer than expected when you actually pull it off.

@@MorphRed If you're playing pretty fast and aren't nabbing every single thing then you usually can clear the map fairly quickly overall, provided you make good use of your tools and the Dual Strike/Pair Up to break through enemies on your way to Arete. Then again I suppose it's down to your own personal pace of play, since not everyone tries to do things in a neo-LTC style al the time, haha.
This DLC was great and the music was awesome, too. I really fell in love with it. I'm still kind of salty that DLC songs aren't included in the Records Hall's Sound test. :/ Oh well, this is why CZcams was invented (maybe). Thanks for uploading!

Severa is such a tank for this map. I let her eat up most of the attacks and she easily survived. Once again, she was the best of the three.
Severa with Inigo as back up while Owain was on levin sword duty was a godsend.
This is also used in Fire Emblem Heroes, specifically the paralogue involving Young Azura as well as the Tempest Trial associated with it.

Frederick probably either sacrificed himself for his child (Brady...) or for Chrom/Lissa. But it makes little sense that any unit in Awakening could annihilate an entire army ALONE, but couldn't beat up some more risen.
+Dante Reyna these guys are from Awakening's good ending, after defeating Grima. Anankos went and looked for them to Ylisse. But their final wish was to save their original world, not the one they are at during Hidden Truths (which is the world you saved in Awakening)
+Dante Reyna Intelligent Systems has and never will confirm any canon pairings. Depending on who his child is Frederick has different deaths. For example if he is the father of Owain it is said he died taking an arrow for Owain. Also yeah, Chrom's Shepherds are extremely experienced and powerful but in the end they are just human, they were either eventually overwhelmed by the endless hordes of Risen or died protecting someone else

Myrms sucked in Awakening aside from Lon'qu early game and for the skills. They weren't particularly good in any game aside from FE6 and 10. Not bad in any of them though aside from Awakening so there's that.

The notes at the beginning have the awakening motif, the piano sounds and such, mixed in with fates main theme notes. The rest of the song feels like traveling to a whole new world which... It's basically what they did.
If you hear carefully, you can hear a piece of ID Sorrow there and I remember hearing a piece from Fates but I forgot what was it and I can't hear it again lol

Storywise I can't give an answer, but I know that a lot of people, including some within Intelligent Systems itself liked the three so much that they wanted them in another game, so they had to think of a reason to "import" them into Fates from Awakening
Intelligent Systems held a poll as to which of the Awakening children the fans would like to see in Fates. Inigo, Severa and Owain won, so they were put in.

The returning characters are simply the most popular ones of the japanese audience.

This music made me kind of emotional when I played the DLC, I'd already finished Fates and Awakening and I realised that once those two maps were over then there's nothing more to play after that....

When we are considering children that could have been added to this game it makes sense for it to be these 3. Laurent and Kjelle are just way too forgettable. Noire is too shy and not brave enough for this task. She has her talisman, but she seems way to scared to venture in a completely different world. Taguel doesn't live in the world of Fates, Yarne would be too out of place. Morgan is not like the other kids, and we would have to pick between male or female. ( Since male robin is canon, I guess female Morgan would be added.) Nah, which is one of the more popular and memorable children, storywise makes no sense. She is a dragon and no other Manaketes are in the game except Corrin and Kana. She also is suspected to be a Divine one as well, which makes it even more out of place. Apparently, in her world, she takes on the role of the voice because Tiki is worshipped like a Goddess. She is supposed to remind people to not follow Grima. While I do see her as being a retainer to Elise, and even having a child similar to Nowi or Tiki, it makes no sense.
Cynthia would have been perfect as Elise's retainer. She and Elise would get along spendidly, and Cynthia x Arthur is a match made in Heaven. :D

They're the top child units in the Awakening Poll held years ago. Along with Lucina. They're the Top 4. Could be a factor too.
@@guypointinghishead5468 It's definitely the main reason. Considering that the most popular adult units in Awakening below Chrom and Robin (Tharja, Gaius and Cordelia) were introduced as child units in Fates, it's a safe bet that popularity was the primary factor on deciding who would be included.
A shame too, cause I would've liked to see some of the other Awakening children appear as retainers for the Hoshidan royals- would've been heartbreaking to have Selena go up against Noire, for instance.
