    I'm coming to accept that I am suffering from severe depression and anxiety. Tired of trying to be strong and suppress it. I'm exhausted mentally, physically, and emotionally. Alcohol has become my escape and with that only comes problems and more depression. Seeing this video gives me hope. I'm going to talk with my dr about getting on this drug or something similar to it

      I was in the same boat . It sucks , Depression literally causes brain damage but it’s reversible but I know its tiring and guilt inducing . I wish you well on your journey to healing . I have to be so careful with alcohol too I’m so depressed the next day.

      My heart goes out to you. Your comment is from a year ago so I hope that you are doing well. Alcohol was my way of self-medicating and it definitely ended up making things worse. My life was a never ending cycle of chaos. January 16th 2022 I decided I need to get serious about making a change. My therapist recommended I try AA and it helped keep me sane and sober for 10 months. Unfortunately I decided because I was doing so well over the spring and summer that I didn't need to go to meetings as often. The last 3 months I didn't go at all. Fall crept in and so did my depression. I ended up relapsing this year on black Friday and crashed my car into a telephone pole. My car was totaled, I ended up with 7 citations, but I was still alive with minor injuries. I was ashamed of myself and couldn't help but think I wish the crash would have killed me. I decided to go back to meetings as well as talk to a psychiatrist about medication. I started Wellbutrin a week ago and so far I haven't experienced any negative side effects. My mood is slowly improving and I am no longer feeling suicidal. I definitely recommend using talk therapy and support groups along with medication.

    Why doesn’t anybody post the dosage that they are taking? With welbutrin, you only have two options that are commonly prescribed which is 150 and 300. If somebody just started taking 300 mg they may be getting all these side effects that they would not at the 150. So maybe in the videos, we could post the milligram or gram amount

    Great video and explanation. I’ve been looking for the right medication for over a decade for my severe anxiety (diagnosed GAD + SAD). SSRIs and buspar never helped, Klonopin helped a ton but was hell to taper off of, and for the last year I’ve been on low dose Gabapentin + propranolol as needed. This last combo helps but it still wasn’t enough, so my doctor asked if I’d like to try Wellbutrin, as I mentioned how much I struggled with the side effects of SSRIs.
    I’m only 3 days in, currently taking 75mg of the instant release twice daily. I find a get a little anxiety between the 1-3 hour mark after dosing but so far so good on the side effects. Will update this in the future with my results. For other out there experiencing heavy side effects, I’ve found dozens of user reports stating that had a much better experience with the instant release, versus the SR or XL variants. Of course it will vary from person to person, but could be worth investigating before giving up on this very unique med!

    • @thebuilder5271
      @thebuilder5271 Před 11 měsíci +2

      I have tried multiple SSRIs and none of them improved my mood. They just lowered some of the physical symptoms of anxiety which wasn’t worth it for me with the side effects. I also take propranolol as needed but it also doesn’t help with mood and just makes me tired. I’m hoping to try Wellbutrin soon and see if it’s different.

  • @TheCoolOwen

    Buproprion is great if you can find a generic that has an extended release tablet that works as well as the name brand. Some generics have been found to not work as well because their delayed release mechanism doesn’t work as well. Name brand Wellbutrin is very expensive in US, $1,500 for a 30-day supply.

    Looks like it didn't work for him , his hair hasn't grown back.(Joke). I am on ssri's I have had side affects of all four medications I have tried. Lexapro was good then totally pooped out in just 4 month so I swapped to prozac and slept 16 hours a day for 6 months now I have started setraline and I have muscle weakness and extreme fatigue. I was looking at this video for wellbutrin as it doesn't work on serotonin so maybe a alternative for me, I can't go back to the crying and never ending suicidal thoughts I had done that for 3 years solid and refused antidepressants but I know I need something and that something shouldn't be the need to jump off a cliff. I have exhausted all other ideas, I've had cognitive therapy, done meditation 🧘‍♂️, asked God for help (still waiting for a reply) exercise exacerbates my panic attacks and sensitivity drastically when I'm not on antidepressants and as I'm on antidepressants I'm so fatigued I couldn't care less about exercise. My exercise is sleeping. I was diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder, panic disorder and major depressive disorder I also went down the path of alcohol addiction as alcohol was simply the best way to eradicate thoughts as it turns out its also the best way to make the situation 10 times worse. I haven't drank for 4 years but they have been just as miserable the only gift I got from alcohol was A.A meetings and the 12 step programme which is my only uplift in life. Take away the alcohol and what have alcoholics got ? Terrible mental health. They understand me like no other earthlings can. I have a alien 👽 problem I can't expect other earthlings to understand me I need to be around likeminded aliens. Lots of people in A.A meetings are not truly alcoholics it's just that they have associated there mental health with there drinking and not been diagnosed properly for what is actually wrong with them. I believe this is the case for 50 percent of people in the rooms. Even if they got diagnosed with a mental health disorder they would keep it quiet as they know the best help is the 12 steps of A.A which can be applied to all mental health issues and should definitely be the way forward. I believe they use it for gambling addicts which proves my point.

    You live too much in your head. No offense. No offense because I've struggled with mental illness. Major depression, schizoeffective disorder, OCD, Aspergers (autistic), ADHD, Anxiety, social anxiety, agoraphobia, bipolar etc etc... the more I go thru Life and grow as a human being and as man I'm starting to understand that the psychiatrists don't know what they are talking about and it's impossible for them to know how another individual is thinking. They are not mind reader's but can only believe the symptom you tell them and even then they can't go into your mind to understand you. Psychologists do a better job than psychiatrists. Here's what I've discovered: the root cause of all human suffering is the mind!! If we didn't have a mind and if we didn't have thoughts and ideas, we wouldn't know suffering. Negative thoughts and all the mental stories that repeat in the heads of all people, is not real and is basically just dreams and imaginations. People who struggle with mental problems only struggle with it because they believed their thoughts and imaginations are real. All imaginations and all negative thoughts don't exist!! However if you believe in a dream for long enough you will eventually begin to believe in your thoughts and act them out which is like a self fulfilling Prophesy! There is nothing wrong with you, it's all in your mind!! Know this and be Free!!! 😊😊🎉🎉🎉🎉

      if this is true then why does the body have physical responses that have no source? Your perspective is interesting however it lacks compassion and nuance. It's in your head cuz it's a mental illness. So instead of having an infection in your kidney, you have an infection in your thoughts. I like medication because it gives me a choice. Im not overwhelmed by my thoughts and I am no longer a victim of the terrifying memories that resulted from abuse. PTSD is a neurological disorder that causes your brain to have an overactive adrenal system. So you're in an office doing an Excel sheet and your brain thinks you're in danger and now your heart is pumping and you are overworking those glands. So mental illness is real and being in tune with reality is what makes people strong. Not just philosophical wishful thinking.
