Lalo has the patience of Gus, charm of Saul, tactical skills and the ability to investigate like Mike, ruthlessness of Tuco and intelligence of Walter White all in one package. What a great character

Hector Salamanca represents the king (especially after his stroke) they are the leader of the other pieces. They are can’t defend themselves and are dependant on the other pieces for protection so it’s a good thing the other pieces want to protect them. The twins are like Bishops they wear different colours and one twin covers what the other cannot. Tuco is a Rook (castle) they are intimidating, powerful and hard to kill. Lalo is a queen, they can be sneaky, is incredibly powerful and has a lot of moves and tricks up their sleeves. Edit: not all of these labels are created by me and Lalo is sometimes referred to as a knight.

I have come to realize this may be a good thing. Original Game of Thrones fans enjoyed 5 seasons of an epic show. But as soon as it got Michael Jackson level popular, the writing went to s h i t and I think it's because the writers were forced to consider fan expectations because of how massive the fan base became.
Breaking Bad was a final season done to perfection and I think part of the reason is because the fan base didn't get so big that fan expectations ever became a consideration to Vince and the writers so they just focused on crafting the best story.
BCS is also in that sweet spot of popularity.
