Sweet! Can't wait to rig up my recon. I've got that paddle and tackle box and they rock! I'm sticking with the helix drive for exercise but I can see how the torqeedo would open up more fishing spots to me so maybe in the future. With the pedal drive the stock rudder is useless in current so you definitely need a beaver tail style rudder for rivers and salt water. I'm 6'1 250lbs and I can stand up and fish on this yak it's incredible. Tight lines!
Well done! Thanks for this video Coy. I would only request that you showed how you had a side view of the deployed motor so we could see where you set the level for your river fishing. I think I may have mine too low. I'm also using a rock guard.
I will get it for you. I see you commented on my FB post (Coy Lehman Fishin). Get you there.
@@coylehman Thanks - I tried converting to a straight pull with a single luff to direct/center and got reminded why I went to the side rout. All good though. I just couldn't get as much total lift. In the meantime looking to lift my motor higher on this hull. Seems I might have set it too low given that the head of the motor is so far away. I can probably run it higher.
Love the wildy team
Thanks for the run through! Great setup! What cup holder is that?
It's a Scotty brand.
If you added a keel protector on the bottom what places would you put them?
On your front anchoring system has the anchor rope worn into the kayak? Do you see any wear on the rear grommet on your up and down ropes. This is a really nice set up.
No, it actually doesn't. I've used the same setup for several seasons on the Radar kayak too. It doesn't show any wear. Thank you!
Holy shit. 1500 for a added pedal drive..
Damn get it companies gotta make a profit but there’s enough people who wanna get into the yak world that companies could make a this yak with pedal drive for a grand and still have a huge profit margin. Amazing yak tho I will say.
The price is low for the market. The Recon 120HD comes complete with a pedal drive at a lower price point than nearly all other brands
@@coylehman true . This wasn’t specifically directed at Wildeness . It’s the entire market. Everyone of em are entirely way overpriced for what they are. These companies make these for pennies. In the end it’s plastic and is extremely expensive especially lost at the bottom of a river or lake when a seam bursts or pops leak from wear and tear.
Where did you get/ how did you make that transducer rig? And the bottle holder
Thanks for commenting.
I made the pedal drive cover / transducer setup from 1/4 marine board I ordered on Amazon. The cup holder is a Scotty brand cup holder I mounted to it.
@@coylehman Oh nice thanks man! That setup is really nice. I have the recon 120 and have been wondering what to do with that center console too. I have the Lowrance tripleshot transducer and have been trying to figure out how to mount it in that center console without tearing it up when it's been moving around so this might be the way to go! Any chance you could do a detailed video about that transducer install?
Do you know if Torqueedo sells just the lift line hardware? I also need something to lock the line and hold the motor up. Thanks man!
