- This Zangief Street Fighter 6 guide is aimed at helping you understand how to approach playing Zangief. Some of the things here I have changed up, like instead of fhp in to slk(7frame) its better to go fhp in to dfmp(7frame and confirmable).
I will upload a seperate guide for how to deal with fireballs and optimal comboes and punishes.

Some MU stuff I found that I want to add: Honda headbutt can be punished with charged st HP but your reactions gotta be on point. Blanka ball and Honda butt slam punish with Lariat. Jump cancel SPD is hard read but great against throw loops. Great guide. Definitely helps understanding his gameplan better.

Fireballs
When to use shp charged(examples as you mention + Mariss forward moving specials except gladius and ex that breaks armor. Ken dragonslash, drive impact when burned out etc

Thanks for the tips. Just thought I'd pitch in one of my own: Even at higher levels of play, LK into OD Siberian Express is still a great setup for conditioning opponents. They will be forced to choose to either mash or jump out of it in and you can use that to your advantage because LK isn't a high commitment. So even against opponents with good reactions I'm getting a lot of use just using LK to make them scared. LK being such a obvious telegraph can actually help with the delicious mind games! :)

I should make character specific guides soon I guess. Only Sim tip I have is that you can whiffpunish his cmp which is his strongest contender for DRSHP
Which controller do you use for Zangief ? And do you use a stick or dpad?
If you use a controller stick then how do you cancel the drive rush from crouching light and medium buttons, as for light and medium crouching button you need to double tap forward twice like crazy fast.
I use a custom arcade stick from SaveYourGames Milano, it has small buttons for LMH and 2 big buttons for parry and drive impact :)
Crouching drive rushes can be tough, I think its important to focus on getting two clean forward inputs after the button press.
fighting Rashid and JP are the worst :( but Zangief is my main and favorite
I can’t get my brain to do the 360 Airgrab, it’s always too late once I. Price they are airborn. I wish I could do jumping tick grabs or atleast catch people out of the air with a tick grab :(

Dude you find a way to use the power stomps? (Down+Down+MK,MK,MK)
You can use power stomps on the back drop aka back grab. The first stomp is plus and cancelable I believe however the recovery is long. 2nd stomp is negative but recovery is fast. The 3rd stomp even on hit is negative however you can confirm aka lariat. The stomps are not that good since they don't link well at all. It's a move made to catch people off guard once or twice but not reliably.

Hi there I was wondering which version spds are best to get ppl as they drive rush at you?
If you want to spd a driverush I think light will be most consistant as it has more range and will require less precicion. Its not too easy to spd drive rushes though, but def nice to have.
@@veggeysf ahh I see thank you it's pretty good to do it when your low on drive meter then it's becomes optimal for sure, also have you seen koboyan signature style of zangief he likes to drive rush and then reset with headbutt it's really strong. Ppl who fear the spd if they jump or back dash they get clipped by headbutt then if they block it your still plus
