Vanilla is to be added until the ancestors whisper “ it is good”
That's the truth with seasoning lol
Truuuth!
Yess! With seasoning also! 🙌
Haha!
💯
Banana bread.... "2 tsp baking powder."
Adds Baking Soda.
Reasons we love this channel.
I noticed that too -- had to check the linked recipe to be sure she meant baking soda. (And of course, she did. :)
A 36-minute Christine video?!? Yes, please! 😁
My husband laughed when I said “ oh no”! out loud, when you said 2 tsp of baking powder, and put in baking soda...lol.
I was going to say the same. Should it be the baking soda?
I was going to ask the same thing about the baking soda.... LOL 😆 🤣 😂
I noticed that too and came here to comment on it haha! But I haven’t looked at the recipe to see if it was supposed to be baking soda.
When I was a kid, I never knew that cheesecake was baked. My mom only made the Jell-O No-bake cheesecake 😄
Same!
It’s not always baked - at least in the U.K. I have even seen baked cheesecakes referred to as American cheesecakes but I don’t think we tend towards baked or non baked really - at least not that I’m aware of 😁 I’m sure other U.K. peeps will correct me if I’m wrong.
Love a homemake cheesecake. My daughter never wanted regular cake for her birthday so homemade cheesecake it was. Every year a different one.
It's been many years but after watching your video cheesecake 😋it is.
That's the only kind I've ever made--and a long time ago since I'm now in my 70s.
Me too
Love the format of this video Christine! You've stepped your game up and we've noticed!
Glad you think so!
By the way, your banana bread recipe works great with the Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free 1-to-1 flour blend. In case anyone was wondering :)
Omg thank you!!!
Fantastic!! Thanks
We’ve found that the Bob’s Red Mill is our favorite for gf.
I second that! I do use less flour that called for, but that seems to be the case with most recipes that i substitute gf flour. I have also done it with coconut oil to replace the butter because I am also dairy free. This is a great recipe that has been our favorite for years. I remember being shocked that she uses the identical recipe that my friend gave me 18 years ago.
Fantastic. This I am baking right now! Thanks
"oh mom" 😄you know it's good when you hear those words!!!
My 3.5 year old calls the banana “strings” banana boogers 😂
That child is correct: I also call them “banana boogers”! 😂
That’s the best description I have heard for those foul little strings 😂
When I make bread I usually cut off one end to eat right after the loaves come out of the oven. My husband thought I was doing it because you have to let the steam out of the loaf or something.
The end pieces are my fave!! My son doesn't like them so he always saves them for me. I heard someone else call them the hoe pieces because everyone touches it but nobody wants them! 🤣 🤦♀️
@@ofee88 In my kids were young it was a fight to get to the end pieces first. I always ended up with two loaves of banana bread with no ends! But they never lasted long enough to dry out, so all's well that ends well!
The chewy ends are my fave too!! ❤️ But losing the steam is actually why you DON’T want to cut it until it’s room temp, makes the bread dry. Waiting is the hardest part of baking bread!!! (or cheesecake! lol)
You do measure vanilla, Christine. You measure it with your heart. 💚
I put that in one of my recipes about mini choco chips. Lol
P
Llplllllllll
P
Next time with the banana cake, put some brown sugar and butter in the bottom of your cake pan with the bananas and coconut, then top with the vanilla cake. It will be like pineapple upside down cake but bananas. You could also add some crushed pineapple to make it super tropical.
I love your editing style... Throwing in those iconic TV moments in-between... I really enjoyed this video with Andrew bombing some of your shots. I laughed out loud 😂
Here's a tip: I always peel my tired bananas and quarter them before popping them in the freezer. That way I can use them easily for either smoothies or banana bread and I don't have to fiddle with a greasy black banana peel. 😊
I learned a tip from Bigger Bolder Baking keep your butter wrappers to grease your pans.
Yeah! Kim from the Wads does that :)
@@TonyRed549 lol there is nothing wrong using them i do that to my aunt who never baked she blabbred that out loud likeits a bad thing doing that imperial margerine sticks used to be foil like and parkay is kinda expensive now dont get that now more like bluebonnet nowor the store brand
and ireally like to butter or grease the muffintin rather than using those apers the new oven is much hotter now not like the walloven from the 60s i was used to using before kitchen was updated or that canned sprayi used to love to bake but now i just dontnow
Been doing that for over 50 years! It's what my mum did going back to the 1950's. Also if you use margarine but grease the pan with a butter or its wrapper it gives a butter flavour to the bake.
@@gillharvey8136 thankyou
my neighbor is a huge baker and she brings over stuff pretty often 😂 love your neighbors ❤️
I love meal prep videos! Also the thumbnail is GOLD!
Yay! Thank you!
"FOR ALL YOU SPATULA NEEDS!" I swear I watch these videos as much for the great tips as for the prefect references to pop culture I love. We have the same humor :'D
I sometimes take a chicken from the store, cut the backbone out (save in the freezer for stock), and then flip it over. I press down until the breast bone snaps and it starts to flatten. Put it in a 9 x 13 pan or on a cookie sheet, cover with plastic wrap. Put a large plate on top, and a foil covered brick (I bought a brick just for this) on that. Pop in the fridge overnight. That's how I learned to make spatchcock chicken. Takes a little more effort, but much cheaper.
The little baby measuring cup for tablespoons is amazing!
I may have “borrowed” it from my mom 😂
Unless you wash them- they have chicken poop on them.
Andrew is almost an exact replica of Dave 🤣
The second I saw his face in the cheesecake clip I was like "mini dave?!"
I’m with your kids…as soon as brown spots start occurring on bananas, they become bread🤣
Totally me as well
Same
That's when they are actually ripe and have the most flavor!!
@@hoosiergirl1 can’t stand the mushy texture and I don’t like them too sweet. They make great bread though🙃
I only eat them once they start to have brown spots otherwise they taste unripe to me.
I add ingredients directly to the pan. I pour in half the amount of batter then add a layer of blueberries, raspberries, fresh banana slices, dark chocolate chips/coconut flakes/almond slices (like a mounds bar), chocolate chips/pecans, chocolate chips, and then add the rest of the batter. I top with a little bit of the ingredients to identify the loaves as I tend to make a dozen mini loaves in a go.
I had to share. I went to get ground beef on sale for 3.99 lb. I found clearance ground beef for 2.57 lb. thank you so much ch Christine for all of your help tips and tricks. I’m learning so much!!!
That is awesome!
I laughed at the UHF Spatula City throwback, it's been so long since I've seen that movie...
LOL...Andrew just made the video!! So cute! Thanks for all the cooking inspo and tips, Love your channel so much!
😊 thank you
This is so nice to chill to after work on Friday! Now I’m hungry!
😋
Did you know that if you use the empty eggshell to remove the shell fragment, it's easier to get the shell out of the bowl?
Using the empty shell is every unhealthy. There is bird poop and many gross items on that shell and who would want that in their food
@@pamelal939 they are washed eggs. Not dirty.
@@pamelal939 lol and egg shells are very porous. So if theres so many germs you need to be concerned, it's already permeated into the egg anyway
I laughed so hard at your son because that's exactly what my son would do and how hed react lol love it lol "but you started talking and i was in your shot" lol 💜💜
I love the huge meal preps! Please do more! 💗💗
Your "Thank you" after talking about your roommates complimenting you after making the banana bread in college reminded me of my best friend. It just hit me that that's why i gravitated to your videos when i first found your channel... you are the absolute best!
I finally got the loaf pans from IKEA-didn't have the red just plain but work so much better for me.
If it helps with the cake, I usually have to put parchment paper lining the bottom to get my cakes to release from a pan
The kids screaming with you while mixing was Hilarious!!!!
I love all of your movie clips 😂😂
That cheesecake looks so yummy. I just finished cooking boneless chicken thighs in my Instant Pot. Thanks to you I now own one. Wow, juicy and delicious in just 12 minutes. Didn't even heat my house up. Now I have chicken for multiple uses. Yippie!😋 Always a fan. 🤠
The Fact u dont messure anything as a frugal mom is so lovley i have a friend who mesearues everything even eggs per person there is 100gramm pP per meal that has eggs in it and things like that and putts water with juice half and half or even more water shares 1 can of soda as a tread for 4-5 persons and countes snacking per day and days per week 3 out of 7 days are snack days and counts toilettpaper sheets per person per month thats the top of the iceberg for me
Sounds like she has some serious issues🙄
OMG, I’m number 6 posting……. I love your channel Christine! Thanks for bringing us such great stuff!
🎉🕺🏻
Thanks so much for continuing to share content that is so genuine, fun and brings the joy that I think we all need more of!!
You’re authentically you and it comes across each and every time!
You’re awesome girl!!
❤️😁
Thank you so much!!
@@FrugalFitMom You’re so welcome!!
I hope you have an amazing weekend! 😁
Hi Christine. A couple things, first, I love your blender cut-aways. Hilarious! Also, I have now adapted my fave Christine saying in my kitchen, "It'll be fine". Love your videos and when your family appears in your videos. You're all delightful!
Oh thank you!
You said baking powder but used baking soda. I also like banana bread with no chips. But I love nuts and a streusal on top!
Hello Christine I finally figured out how to send you a comment or ask you a question so first off thank you for helping me realize I too can make food like I see on you tube. I never miss a video of yours. I will watch for something from you telling me that I am on the right track and lastly hello from Nova Scotia Canada.
All those breads, lemon cheesecake, and that CHICKEN!!!! My mouth is watering. It ALL looks so good!!!😛 Lemon is my favorite thing to put in cheesecake. I ALWAYS put it in any sweets with cream cheese! I love to add caramel too. ♥️💥🌈🦋🎉🌸
Your kids are great, btw. i love you adding them into your videos!
Your boys were cracking me up in this video 😂😂
If you dip the bottom of your cake pan in hot water it will usually release the cake from the pan.
Fun video! Going to try Emily's bread recipe. Texture is beautiful!
Good afternoon! I recently found your channel, and already started using your tips & have already saved a lot! Love your content & vibrant, energetic vibe!🥳
I LOVE MEAL PREP VIDEOS FROM YOU! 🤩
You are such an inspiration everytime you upload. 💛 You have taught me so much!!!
Love your meal prep videos🙃🙃🙃
Your channel is my favorite!!!
Yum! This is the first time I’ve seen something close to Mom’s lemon squares. The main difference is a smaller layer, and Lucky Leaf lemon pie filling topping. The entire family’s favorite dessert!
…smaller cheesecake layer.
Loved the Big fat Greek wedding reference it's definitely one of my favorite movies
Best way to start a Friday!!!
I always remove the banana peels before freezing so that they’re ready to use when inspiration strikes! I keep them in a reusable Tupperware to reduce waste
I’m only here for the Andrew cameos. 🤣
I love watching you cook! You make it look fun and easy🙂
I absolutely love your meal prep videos 💕
Thank you!
This gives me such inspiration to clean out my pantry!
Your mixer is so cool!
All the added clips were great! 😂
The food looks amazing!
Pantry meal prep is my FAVORITE! ❤❤❤
Dark chocolate chunks in banana bread are the solution to the chocolate competing with the banana problem. The. Best.
Hey, on those "old bananas," mash them up, make up your typical pancake mix. Fold in 1-1.5 mashed bananas per cup of dry pancake mix, add 1 tsp vanilla and cook. You are welcome in advance. They are good hot, cold, with syrup, without, freeze well and are amazing!
You can also do this to waffle mix too!
Emily's bread looks amazing!
I love this content. It motivates me to use up what's in the pantry.
That chicken looked amazing. Andrew cracked me up. I really enjoy your videos and a slice of your family life.
I'm a huge fan :) - you do a great job! thanks for making me smile :)
The "spatula city" reference.....it made my day!
These look awesome!!!
love the way you cook - I also ad lib when I cook
New to your channel, started watching yesterday. Since then, I've been watching and taking notes.
Love, you, love your videos. When you added baking powder, it was actually baking soda. LOL
I'm watching this video with my husband. He pauses the video at the cheesecake and says, "Ma'am, that is a tablespoon."
I LOVE that you don’t measure vanilla!( except with your heart, of course!) 🥰🤩🥳
I love your channel you so down to earth I love it. Keep up the excellent work. High five all the way from South africa
The cheesecake recipe looks awesome. Definitely trying this out.
You’re kitchen is always so clean! Also that cheesecake looks delicious 🤤
When transferring out of your food processor, hold it with your finger underneath the bowl, inside the hole where the blade is. Your finger holds the blade in while you dump the ingredients out.
Your kids are so funny! Love the energy in your videos! Inspires me to also do meal prep 😋
Thanks so much 😊
When baking a batter of any kind; butter and flour the bottom of the pan. It'll help a lot when you want to remove it. They make baking sprays that have flour and grease in it as well if you want to do less work. Lining the bottom of the pan with parchment paper first before that would also help. I used to bake a lot with my Gran growing up. I learned a lot. Even learned to make a fake apple pie that has no apples at all in it.
Wow, that bread looks amazing!
I've said it before it bears repeating, you and the Kiddo's are hilarious I love watching you all
Try adding frozen cranberries to the Banana Bread! Such a treat!
The photo(video)bomb was the best!!❤. That spatch chicken can be done w a regular chicken/small turkey and is worth the work.
LOL I love Dave! Bring him on to tell his punny jokes! Lol
I’m in UHF’s Spatula City scene!! They filmed it In my home town when I was in the 8th grade!! I was so excited when I saw that clip!!
Good morning Christine! Love these videos!! Yes! Never too much vanilla or cinnamon! And I got the Wilton long skinny bread pans and love them for everything.
I love your mixer
great recipes. the spottier the banana, the healthier it is as it produces some kind of substance I can't remember just now, but the shiny new ones don't have it
Lol omg the boys and you screaming . I can’t even . 😂
Christine mix a mashed banana into you cake mix in place of the oil. Then add drained crushed pineapple and cool whip over cake and maraschino cherries on top as garnish should you have them. We call this a banana split cake. I think Ill add the coconut next time make this Tada! Now you can also eat it, no raw bananas
In the description box? What's that? I thought it was the Doobly Doo! 😂
Great Video! Love from germany
OMG, Now I gotta go eat! Yum!!!
Thanks
That bread! Wowwww. Looks perfect.
It was cool to see a cheesecake made with out a spring form pan (I don't have one of those lol). I was not expecting the Salt n Pepa reference/clip 🤣. The family eating the "prep pasta" is hilarious. Hmm I've never heard of wiping off marinade before cooking.
Those recipes looked amazing!!!!
They are!
Got lucky in Alabama! Our small Walmart was remodeling and reducing prices on items they will no longer stock…. $3 Rao’s. I was able to get a dozen jars!!!! Plus $1 for some of Walmart’s specialty sauces. Big cheers for a stocked pantry!
I have a similar banana bread recipe. The only thing different is I use brown sugar. The last time I made it I added some peanut butter chips and cranberries. It was amazing.
