One Woodturning to Rule Them All !

I used maple and curly maple veneer. Took 53 hours to make.
I originally wanted to make the outside curved, like a true ring, but I couldn't make the veneer compliant enough. That's why in a few shots, you can see the exterior is curved.
I'm also not super happy about my staining job. It was my first time using one.
Maybe one day I will make version two, with a more uniform grain and if possible no visible glue seems.

Before you write your comment saying the inscriptions are upside down, go rewatch the freaking films. Or do a simple google image search if you don't have 10 hours to spare.
To the rest of you with your kind comments, I can't respond to everyone but THANK YOU. I appreciate it.

I still dont get why people say the writings are upside down, I've seen the films, and even if you don't have the free time to watch them, a simple search here on CZcams can show you the scene with the ring on it and the engravings on this wonderful lamp are same when Sauron was wearing it and when Frodo was holding it up.
Either way, love the design, love the dedication in making it, just love the whole thing.

My desire for this lamp is creepily fitting. The choice of stain is perfect, love the slow light up, too. Really nice work - looks like it would have been fun to build.

The ways you position the camera for maximum effect and the artistry in editing is truly - well, the words escape me - wonderful, fun, imaginative, amazing, incredible - none of this is enough! You are an artist in so much more than woodworking!!!
