To clean silver that has gone black, pour a little milk on the cloth & then wrap it all around the silver item & leave at least two hours & then use the cloth to rub the item all over.

Best way to get spots off glasses, etc. is to soak 10 or 15 minutes in hot water with a splash of vinegar, then rinse and dry. Or load up the dishwasher and run a short load with a good splash of vinegar, no soap. Wipe with a towel.
For anything silver clean and make sure it's dry. Wrap or make packet of aluminum foil touching all surfaces and edges folded to keep the air out. It will have little to no tarnish when you unwrap.

Toothpaste is abrasive on plastic lenses. Don't use.
A drop of Dawn dishwashing liquid mixed with a little vinegar and a dash of salt will leave your metal faucets sparkling clean! No need for the beer+!

The stuff she used to clean the spectacles was a mixture of vaseline and toothpaste. Although toothpaste is a great cleaner, i seriously would not recommend anyone using it on their spectacles, especially expensive ones!

A tablespoon of salt, a tablespoon of baking soda and boiled water. Wait an hour.
She could've done it in hand with an old, soft toothbrush and a squidge of toothpaste, just scrub gently, then rinse with water - cold is fine - then dry carefully with toilet roll paper or a cotton cloth.

When I wash glasses, I do them just like my other dishes, but then I rinse them with clean water. I don't need any salt, vinegar & water mixes.
Cigarettes in with garlic EEEEWWWW. And in the fridge?
Why would you need all that garlic peeled at once?
Vaseline & toothpaste to clean your spectacles?
It could leave them scratched!!

Per l'odore di aglio insaponi poi con le mani sfrega sulla cannula in acciaio del rubinetto della cucina... O compra una saponetta di acciaio..... Basta anche sfregare il bordo del lavello di acciaio e le tue mani dopo il risciaquo niente odori!
