    @Dan H, When changing out control arms in the future, remember to leave them hand tight at the mounting locations then proceed to torque them down with the vehicles weight sitting on the ground. That way there us no presprung movement preventing articulation in the future or premature wear on the new bushings. This is especially helpful when using poly bushings to prevent unnecessary squeaking.

    Increasing length of front lower control arms from stock, will increase caster reducing death wobble and adding stability on highway (think Mercedes, higher caster, more stability at highway speeds). Did that at Alignment shop I worked at, on a lifted 4x4, all of the sudden I was the guy for lifted vehicles, and all I wanted to do was work on Mercedes...LOL. Ratchet straps, gotta love'em

    You worked a little harder then you needed too. You can remove the old control arms without remove the tire nor lifting the Jeep up. The only time I needed to lift the Jeep up was to align the mounting holes with the new control arms. You can do this instead of trying to fight a ratchet strap.

    Wow another example of Jeep quality engineering. What were they thinking with those stupid oval rubber bushings. I bought my first Jeep, a 2003 Grand Cherokee because it was already setup to tow behind the motor home. Now I know why it was so cheap. Yesterday when I pulled the wheel to do brakes I saw that the rubber bushings were loose in the front and rear suspension. At 150,000 miles the suspension is shot and all the control arm bushings are shot. Thanks for the video at least I know how easy it is to replace everything.

    • @ProjectDanH
      @ProjectDanH  Před 2 lety +1

      Rubber bushings are standard in the automotive industry, they provide a very comfortable ride and deaden vibration. unfortunately they wear out over time.
