Reason for the chickens:
I was conducting a test with creepers, and they kept entering the boats. I filled all of them with invincible chickens to fill the spots.
Reason for the shaders:
The shaders lower my fps, which affects how fast the client side Tweakaroo autoclicker works. The original value for Avogaado’s thing with shaders on was 9 seconds slower. The reason I'm not using a server side autoclicker like Carpet mod (specifically for my design), is that having it client side allows me to hoe dirt that I’m explicitly not registered in front of on a specific game tick by the server. If I was travelling more than 1 block per tick (which I was), I’d miss a ton more dirt on my machine.
Texture Pack Details:
Vanilla Tweaks(This affects mainly everything involved with 3D-ifying components and see through scaffolding and the Dark Mode GUI), Ph1lza’s Diamond Netherite Highlights Pack, some random netherite elytra pack you can probably find by googling.
Shader Details: I use Complimentary Reimagined, on the mod Iris Shaders. Complimentary Shaders is similar and also great.

just saw the video, great work! an idea though, couldn't you make a piston bolt that applies regen + instant health to the player and put the player through the block that is hoing? the extra health makes it not suffocate (though it would be funny that the machine killed you). I dont know if you can hoe a block that you are suffocating in/inside of, but maybe worth a try? cheers
I'm a bit tired, so not sure if this works, but why can't you just move the player faster? Or maybe hoe at an angle? I wonder if there's an angle where you could hoe more than 5 pieces per tick. If there is I bet you could slightly go faster.
@juanma4978 while your idea might work, it wont be fast enough because you will hoe only the block your are inside of, the strategy with the aligning is faster because you get access to rows of dirt instead of 1 at a time

Idea to be faster: essentially this same design, only "two" of them side by side so that you are moved across between them, but an entity "boost" in the middle that also triggers a reset of the dirt. This way you almost never slow down and are constantly in front of new dirt.

Dude, you lowered a sub-1 minute record by 20%, which is pretty huge.
Any other more "useful" Minecraft contraption still has the sole purpose of entertaining the player. Therefore, I deem this a very useful Minecraft build.
This reminds me of the one guy who played the same mario kart track for 6-12 hours a day, every day for six years, just to eventually pull off this unlikely sequence that would save him 0.3 seconds on the track, making him the world record holder instead of him being tied for first with 30 other ppl. Absolutely pointless, but very fascinating.
Being an efficient engineer is finding that 80% solution quickly that will become a truly great 99% solution one day lol

Have you heard about the new oneshot strategy used for set seed speedruns?
It makes use of the dragon’s knockback to make the player get launched at light speed and because the damage from shooting a bow depends on how fast the arrow is going, if you’re going super fast at the time of the bow getting shot, that also makes the arrow go super fast and powerful enough to kill the ender dragon in one arrow.
You see, there is a point in the dragon’s hitbox, the ‘tickle spot’, which is the center of the dragon’s knockback. The amount of knockback you get is depending on how far you are from the tickle spot. The formula is complicated but basically it’s something like the speed the dragon is going divided by the distance from the tickle spot. So if you’re really close the knockback gets exponentially bigger, and if you’re exactly on that point when the dragon starts moving, that is, zero away from the point, you’ll get almost infinite knockback, because anything divided by zero is infinite.
So maybe you could try something like this to get you moving, and therefore, using hoe durability, even faster. There’s probably a bunch of reasons why this won’t work but maybe it’s worth looking into. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
you'd also need infinite fps, as the auoclicker clicks once per tick, but that makes it possible to theorically break a netherite hoe in a single tick

Sick idea
Just one nerdy correction, when dividing things as the denominator gets closer to zero, it approaches infinity. Anything divided by zero is undefined. If you graph Y=1/X, you can see it forms a clear asymptote.
I theorize that one of two things would happen if you were to attempt to perfectly align at the exact center of the dragons knock back. Firstly it may be impossible to be at the exact center because of how hit boxes work meaning you can’t be at that perfect divided by zero point. The other possible thing is that you can be at that exact divided by zero point, and nothing would happen because the game because the game has no direction to add velocity so nothing happens
I feel like you could adapt the moving rows idea to go even faster by staggering the rows so that you hoe along a diagonal, since that will let you reach more blocks within the same distance

Seems like you are still missing a lot of dirt blocks tho, so it might be worth looking for a mod that has faster clicks or optimize the machine to allow for optimal dirt tillage. Still, I'm interested to see how long it will take until the ultimatum will be met. Very nicely done!

I feel like introducing mods just completely shatters the point of doing a challenge like this. Like, with mods the answer is 1 tick, with my custom utility function that depletes durability

idk how these work very well, but wouldn't it in theory be better if the player was at a 45 degree angle? especially for avogaado's design. if you could move the dirt fast enough, it would in theory put twice as many dirt blocks in front of the player
“Hoe-ing speed”. Hopefully that becomes an actual metric for these kinds of machines.
My favorite thing about all redstone videos is that redstoners are extremely wholesome and supportive of each other, always shouting out other people builds and videos, in an unending circle of praising.
It's something (actually basically the only thing) that I find in common with every redstone creators I watch.

my problem is that it uses mods. which changes the record type imo. at that point you could just mod in a breaking enchantment/curse.
I mean a client side mod for clicking really fast isn't the same as changing the way the game actually functions, but I see the point. technically if you're using client side mods, you could create one that also just aimbots all the dirt reachable in an area, which would be probably at least triple the speed if you use the same method of moving back and forth

if you did avogado's setup but set up pistons to supply like a 2*5 wide area of dirt, you could look a little diagonally so your view intersects more blocks

I think you could have the player facing diagonally to hoe more, over than being a straight line. As I believe you can hit more than 5 blocks when facing at an angle.
So zero-ticking a zig-zag diagonal might be faster? Maybe?

I don't know if it matters but you can put a saddled pig in the minecrart piston bolt and sit on the pig.

As far as I know, viewbobbing doesnt actually change what block youre hovering over. Good idea though
I saw a video just 5 minutes after watching yours and avocados seeing that a diamond hoe (or a wooden hoe with efficency 5 haste 2) can instamine moss blocks. I tried doing this with the piston bolt system but didn't quite get it to work. Im no minecraft expert, i downloaded the tweakaroo mod to increase my CPS but maybe you know something i don't. I think using a faster way of transportation with an instamining hoe is a great contender since the facing orientation also doesn't matter. You could go in a straight line and break blocks ontop of you for example.
Its actually only possible to break 20 blocks per second. Unfortunatley, hoeing is going to be the superior method when it comes to wasting durability
If you could glitch the player into the first block somehow, you could make the rows 6 long instead of 5 and hoe more dirt.

Since we have a hoe burning machine, is it possible to build a machine that makes the player eat as much food as possible to get incredibly high statistics for item use? I have difficulty in getting player saturation down as well as balancing damage sources with healing.
Now the next step is to go for diagonal hoe-ing, so that you can hoe more than 5 dirt per tick

A bit of a shot in the dark, but can you get the right height if you are in a pistonbolt riding a camel/strider etc that is riding the minecart?
I actually tested them and a strider in a mine cart is at the right height, so I think it would be worth a shot. A camel is too high and too wide so would suffocate if the blocks are too close, thus you would lose out on potential blocks/tick anyway, same with horses and donkeys. Interestingly using the ride command a creeper is also the right height XD but I think using commands goes against the spirit of the challenge.
@@MrMoon-hy6pn I love that you tested riding a creeper. The funniest thing is I don't think you could complete the challenge since you have to be in survival. Unless you did no ai.
@@jared_per why thank you :). Also you can actually ride the creeper in survival without it blowing up, its eyeline just needs to be obstructed from the players eyeline somehow like with a slab or trap door so it’s totally possible.

I don’t get how that guy’s machine could break your record if it relied on mods. You could just as easily add an infinite reach mod and build a gigantic contraption which would technically take your record back, but that would just be unfair.
I used the exact same autoclicker he used in the very first design. There are certain mods that are generally considered to be acceptable as "vanilla". Tweakaroo is one of them.

Ik there's a difference between the mods used, since the one in the video simply does what Minecraft technically already allows to happen, but I still think it's kinda weird.

Doesn't it kinda invalidate the whole thing to use mods? If you're allowed to use mods then anything goes and I can just make a modded block that takes all durability whenever a tool interacts with it to break a netherite hoe in one tick.
Sure, it's a very exaggerated example, but you get my point. If we use mods to allow faster right clicks to push the game beyond what's possible per tick in vanilla, then where do we draw the line?
As such I don't really think using mods counts. It takes away from the challenge of coming up with technology within the game as you can just outsource any problems you might have to some mods that fix them.
At the very least, any actual category obviously should specify what version has to be used and if allowed, which mods have to be used.
Without mods, the fastest design is the first one. Its not allowed by vanilla to click faster than 20 times a second. There are a few mods that are largely considered by the technical community to be "vanilla". Tweakaroo is one of them, and it allows for the category to have any depth at all, which in my opinion is best

Again, as I said, if we call it a category, then the mods yall consider vanilla need to be specifically listed in the rules of the category.
My point was simply that you need to draw a line somewhere, otherwise I can easily break your record by using complete nonsense mods that would be obvious cheating.

If you’re allowing commands to give you dolphin’s grace, you could also give yourself something that increases your reach distance to till more dirt per row
dolphins grace can be achieved in survival.

this is kinda cheating but, if you set tickrate to low, you can hoe in all 4 directions, giving you effectively 4x the speed maybe even more as you may be able to get 15 h/3t instead of 10 h/3t
