Meant to leave a comment a while back. Loving these pod casts. Ive been making bait for around 8 years now - I run a small bait making business on the side of my day job as I was fed up with shop bought shelfies - so much so, I couldnt even tell you what baits are on the market these days...listening to these guys is amazing - things they are saying is also stuff Ive found out for myself in the last 8 years too - so it really gives me confidence in what Im doing and then some! Seriously keep up the great content!!!
I want to watch Dennis McFetric baiting up on a pit we were both fishing. He was spreading his freebies far and wide over an area at the size of a tennis court. Years later I mentioned it to him...and he replied.
" Yes my catapult was crap back then". 😂

@John baker has been saying this for years!!!! How many times on a 48hr session are the first 24 biteless??? Freebies absolutely dripping in oils etc are almost deafening to a carp and when these massively overflavoured freebies work is when it leaks off!!! It works on places like linear because if they didn't eat your bait they'd starve!!!!!! Bait companies push all these oils,food liquids to take your money!!!! If they improved your bait so much why isn't it already in the bag of boilies????? Stopped using all liquids this year on my tricky syndicate and my catch rate went up despite fishing a lot less than last year!!!!
Fantastic as always and what a mine of knowledge john is, so much food for thought but the every 5 mins Ad breaks spoilt it badly

As usual great podcast, really enjoyed it. Sam, quick question: You mentioned cinnamon leaf EO being very good. Think in previous podcasts, John Baker and Bill Cottam rated Cinnamon bark as the better of the two. Your findings have been different?
Bill also prefers cinnamon leaf, we spoke about this in the podcast I did with him. I don’t think John Baker has done all that much on EO’s to be completely honest with you, at least that’s the impression I got when chatting to him about EOs a few years back. Both leaf and bark versions are good but the leaf version is clearly the winner. Each to their own though!

When can we hear part 2 ?
Time and time again people watch a quick promo vid and think that by adding this liquid or that powder it will make the bait 10 fold better .... It's not the case FFS ..... The stronger the bait , the stronger the signals .... More overpowering
I make my own bait and use the lowest level possible .... Mostly without any flavours added just using natural flavouring a like liver powder and garlic
