Easy Classical Guitar Volume 1 : Classical [Full performance + PDF]

This collection of thirty pieces from the classical period features a carefully selected set of repertoire: both musical and approachable.
The works vary from Grade 1 to Grade 3 in difficulty, and while they are not for the absolute beginner classical guitarist, they fall under the ‘easy’ category, featuring few barres and mostly first-position playing. If you are looking for a complete beginner’s guide to playing the classical guitar and learning how to read music notation, I would suggest using the Cornerstone Method for Classical Guitar Grade 1.
I have organized the pieces into ten different sets so that you can combine several short works into one larger performance should you wish to do so.

I completely agree with the above comment. I have been playing guitar on and off for 40 years, but I wanted to return to classical guitar, which I started with at the age of 14, and start afresh. For the returner, this is such a good help, with many well-known and well-loved pieces that I used to play 40 years ago in my first year (and last year) of classical guitar lessons. SINCERE APOLOGIES! I hit the wrong (downging) thumb on my first attempt to rate this video - and that despite my recent hard work on R-hand coordination! I hope I've managed to correct in time.
I think this collection of relatively simple pieces, beautifully played to show their full potential, is a wonderful idea. As just a grade 2-3 player I cannot look at a score and 'hear' what it may sound like ... and when I start to play it I soon discover the difficulties awaiting me but still cannot imagine the possible rewards if I put in the necessary work. After both seeing and hearing the piece, played and filmed so well, I can far better assess the possibilities for me (How much do I enjoy it? Is it too difficult for me at my stage?). Several of the pieces I have come across before and it's a pleasure to meet them again but the Aguado Ejercicio 8 I'm hearing for the first time and it's a revelation - I must stop typing and download the score immediately! Classical Guitar Corner is brilliant.

Beautifully played pieces by the virtuoso Simon Powis! Thanks for these lovely recordings. Perhaps the word "Easy" should be removed from the description. Perhaps others find them easy to play, but I find even the simpler pieces very difficult to play. I can only play the simpler arrangements poorly. The more complex ones, I can't play at all.
