    Good work Gary. Being prepared to stand up for what he believes in and dare to be different. That takes a lot of guts!

    I am not discriminating against you my friend, if you choose to be agnostic , so be it. but I do find it strange that agnostics take a stand against God.. if you think there is no God then why do you need to take a stand against Him? However that is your choice.. I am also entitled to my beliefs, as is everyone.. I believe that there is a God and He is almighty.. that is my right.. I do not discriminate against you.

    Actually as soon as something bad happens, people turn to the religious and say, "Where was your God."

  • @AdamMWall
    @AdamMWall Před 10 lety +2

    Depends how you're counting. I'm made up of many body parts, and there are many ways I may be described anthropologically - body, soul, spirit, mind, emotions, etc., but I am still one. Not five or whatever, and a husband and a wife, about whom God says "The two shall become one flesh" are each made up of flesh and spirit, but that doesn't mean that 1=4. I don't worship the man who said "your god and my god is one". Agree that our God is the one and only period. :)

    I will defend your right to your opinions... but I also have a right to what I believe in as everyone does... I choose to believe, if you dont thats your decision, But I will not abuse you or swear at you for your decision..amazing how when one person stands up for what they believe in other people who dont believe think they have the right to try to pull them down. have a good life Stookavitch.

  • @AdamMWall
    @AdamMWall Před 10 lety +1

    No one's saying that the three members of the trinity aren't in some ways independent, even though they work in unison. Who gets to set the rules for what is meant by 'one'? You, or him? No I will not agree with you on that. :)

  • @AdamMWall
    @AdamMWall Před 11 lety

    Using the 'no true Scotsman' counter-argument / 'excuse' is I think a bit of a misrepresentation of what I was saying. - I was saying that even true Christians are imperfect, and we don't claim to not be. But that there IS a difference between actual and nominal Christians. Is there not? AND that very many others also have no idea what Christ taught, so even if they may be Christians, if they act inconsistently, it can hardly be attributed to Christ. How am I going against Mark 6:5? Am glad that

  • @AbIdUlAYO

    ablett wasn't talking about god after winning a game : o but yes. what u said is pretty true now a days in sports

  • @AdamMWall
    @AdamMWall Před 11 lety +1

    Ok. Mark 6:5 isn't a prohibition against praying in public / saying in public that one prays. It's saying the reason for is not to be for show. I think if anything, Gary Ablett was a little nervous about the topic coming up, understandably given how popular it is to be public about your faith in Australia at the moment, and was just answering the questions asked of him. I agree idolatry's a nono. If you want to bank on God being as likely to be real as a fairy, that's your choice to make.

  • @AdamMWall
    @AdamMWall Před 11 lety

    But re politics, I believe strongly in freedom of speech, and so would defend your right to speak out to, influence, and lobby governments with your opinions. I believe that atheists, agnostics and people of other faiths should be able to do the same. And that so should Christians. I also believe in separation of church and state, but that this doesn't mean a Christian in parliament shouldn't have Christian opinions, any more than that an agnostic in parliament shouldn't have agnostic opinions.

    Its excellent to see people say how great it is that he talks about his faith out in the open. Why wouldn't he ? you or any other who believes in it ? Is it because you know you'll be laughed at and ridiculed? If that's the reason then you must surely know what you're doing is wrong !! He's been extremely quiet up to this point must have just reached the height of his full brainwashing !!

    Not an Ablett fan but appreciate him being bold in his beliefs. What concerns me is the number of 'haters' who always crawl in to have their say on Christian topics. Ablett Jnr is entitled to say whatever he likes, the title of the interview makes it clear what the topic is ... cannot the haters just avoid it? Obviously not enough happening in their life - going to try to attack and bully others who believe differently to what they do. Get a life and leave us to ours.

    After dying and going to heaven, Greg met St Peter at the Pearly Gates and was handed a football and was told that if he could kick it over the Pearly Gates, he would be allowed into heaven. With that, Greg launched his best drop punt which cleared the Gates easily. Just as the ball was about to land on the other side, a man shrouded in white took a mighty screamer. Greg turned to St Peter and asked, "Who was that?" St. Peter replied, "That was just God trying to be Gary Ablett."

  • @AdamMWall
    @AdamMWall Před 11 lety

    How long ago a god is first written about does not mean that they're an older or realer god/God. I think a better test for determining which God/gods is/are the ones behind good in the world is to examine the respective merits of the writings. God has promised that in the future, in Heaven, "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore..." (Revelation 21:4).

    Sorry the link didn't work for me for some reason. Also no one's saying that Jesus isn't human. 1stly, it wasn't an apple. 2ndly, Genesis, and dinosaurs being millions of years old, are not mutually exclusive. The Hebrew word for 'day' does not always mean 24 hours. Re "Those murdered in the name of god", firstly, "in the name of god" is vague because it doesn't define which god(s), + it's unfair to attribute the name of one god to another, + 2ndly very many of those said to be Christians + responsible for this, weren't actually, or were just misinformed about what the Bible says.

  • @AdamMWall
    @AdamMWall Před 11 lety

    I beg to differ re it being a 'very very minor detail'. It's the 'fruit of the knowledge of good and evil', which I take it is being the determiner of what's good and evil, when that's God's prerogative. I certainly wouldn't state that all atheists can't read, but I guess that doesn't disprove your theory, as I'm not a religious nut. I believe that Noah's arc was possible, and that Jonah did live in a fish. I left those out because they weren't relevant at the time. Whether this makes me look

  • @AdamMWall
    @AdamMWall Před 11 lety

    We don't preach anyway that every person out of ~ 2,000,000,000 human and therefore imperfect people on the planet who claim to associate themselves with Christianity, even though very many of these aren't actually Christians and very many others also have no idea what Christ taught, is at every point of their lives acting peacefully. But this has no bearing on whether we can preach this truth, though you're entitle to your opinion - that Christ has already attained peace with God for us. :)

    I hope that they don't do that too. I don't think that everything good is seen as a miracle, but only the miraculous. I know what you mean though. Why's it not smart when you really put thought into it? Why can't the claim that the bad stuff in the world is because of things other than God be true? But the Bible does claim unashamedly, even from about the third page, that God does bring calamity, but as a matter of justice and/or discipline, and as the sovereign God factor behind other factors.

    How is you and your father one? ofcourse not literally but in essence, objective etc. You are still independent of another. Jesus had body, mind, soul, spirit, emotions etc which only proofs that he was human. Husband and wife too are independant. You can not say you are body and your wife is soul of same entity(you). You both are independent. "Say, He is Allah (God) one and only, He is absolute and eternal, He beggets not nor he is begotten. There is nothing like him". Now agree with this too.

    Well that puts Christians in point of no return. As you claim Jesus was fully man then man has body soul and spirit like you n me. Adding holy ghost and father will make it 5 given that ghost does not have body n soul and father does not have body n spitit. If all have body soul n spirit then its 9=1. Confusing innit? well its stupid actually. Man said "your god and my god is one" and you worship the same man. Shame on Paganism, i mean Christianity. Our God is ONE & ONLY. PERIOD.
