Is the Model X worth $79,990?

- Not too long ago the top trim Model X was $150,000 and after driving one I realized it isn't worth anywhere near that. But is it worth $79,990?

Some good info from my accountant: The $7,500 credit is available for businesses as well and there is currently not an income limitation. However, the credit is also limited by business use. That is, if you only use it 50% for business, you get 50% of the credit. This is all tracked by mileage.
This is a very important information. Thank you!
For 2024 a new proposal by the US Department of Treasury would let car dealers offer the EV tax break to consumers at the point of sale ( regardless of their federal tax liability ).
you get $25k if your business buys it due to the weight, nothing to do with it being an EV. Also, I have 3 kids, the 3rd row is great for car seats, and the falcon wing doors are a life saver getting the kids in and out of car seats.
Rivian what never
LOL Rivian… hopefully they are still around.
"Good evening, pigs." Best intro to a video ever. :D
Agreed
*cops have left the chat*
I just pulled the trigger and got a demo with 900 miles for $76,240...last month. Transferred FSD from my Model 3. This was a no brainier for me. Loving it.💪
Elon is going to pull the trigger on you and drop the prices again making your new buy worth even less.
Well done - sounds like a brilliant purchase, enjoy, be happy!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉
The free FSD transfer was a big reason why I traded in my late 2020 X for a '23. You got a great deal!
but why? The only reason model x can be this cheap now is because this is the only way to get the $7500 credit. It's meaningless to drop the price of a high end model further more. @@XX-166
What? Transferable FSD from old Tesla model any?! Let me know :)
4.5 years in with my X, and I still absolutely love it. But the one you'll get is even better than mine.
Brilliant ❤❤❤❤❤
Yes it is, I traded in my 3-yr-old X for the '23, and the improvement is HUGE.
@@andrewcochran4389 yes absolutely the only thing that would make me regret trading in my 2019 is the fact that I still have stocks for turn signals and windshield wiper control, no cabin camera, and apparently the new model X is missing the sensors in the passenger and driver door for opening up wide when your hands are full and you want to just sit inside the car without having to finagle the door open.
I’ve owned the MX since 2018. 77k miles on it, still doesn’t need brakes yet. No issues with the falcon wing doors…. drives like a dream. Mine came with a sun screen that fits over the upper part of the windshield. I have the blue w/ cream interior with ummm some kinda wood trim, still looks beautiful. I had several issues: battery coolant heater went out (under warranty). Air conditioning went out (out of warranty $1800ish?)1 flat tire…. battery degradation is only 3% (according to Tessie app.) I have unlimited lifetime free supercharging… just a note too… when i got mine battery and motor warranty was 8yr unlimited mile warranty. I’m planning on keeping it until at least 2026 (estimated mileage will be 120k).
This is just brilliant to hear - nice purchase!! 🎉🎉🎉
The only thing you should be worried about is the life of the motors and battery pack -- they're not cheap when out of warranty.
@@KevinNguyen-zn4vv This is true but with only 3% degradation on the battery in 5yrs i would guess the battery may last past 300,000 miles. As for the motors I still have 3yrs left on that warranty.
How has the inner tire wear?
Drove MY and MX a week ago; both impressive technology on wheels that have no rivals when you consider supercharger network. MX had impressive acceleration but seemed like, and drove like a minivan (float and roll). The thought of having to order with black seats in order to qualify for tax deduction sticker cap was a no go, as the white seats give the interior package airy appeal. Can't imagine black seats in Arizona sun. Falcon doors cool in some ways, cumbersome in others, considering most people's garage ceiling heights. The space is impressive. Ordered MY due to drivability, handling, additional $2 grand off, much lower insurance rate.
Hey man love your content and love how real you are with the reviews and overall opinions that most other reviewers tend to not say. As far as what car to get that is an EV with a growing family, I would also check out the EV9 that is coming out. Kia has the warranty you are looking for, more space than the model X and a fully loaded one will be below 80k. Also since Kia and Hyundai announced the switch to the NACS port next year , it will be good to have access to a reliable charging network that Tesla has. The Rivian R1S also is a great option if you want to spend more money. Just an opinion! Keep killing it.
Thanks man I appreciate it
Gjeebs is hilarious never a dull moment!
Yes! The room and comfort is top notch!
The Rivian R1S starts at $78,000 and apparently you can get a loaded Volvo EX90 for right under 80 grand. While the Model X is a compelling vehicle if I was personally in the market I highly doubt I'd go for one.
Then you will hate anything except Tesla when you go out on a trip. Then it will be a 78k$ pain in the a$$....unfortunatelly
IMHO if that's a concern just get a gas car
At this point, having bought a Y performance last year and thinking I'd get the 7500 tax credit, which I did NOT, I would opt for X or the Rivian too. My son works for Rivian and has the R1S - awesome vehicle. You definitely don't get the the Tesla infrastructure such as supercharging, but they are now starting to allow other EV's to use the Tesla superchargers. On another note, while as impressive as the Rivian is, their quality is not that great either. His has been in the shop for repairs many times, all under 10k miles. A/C quit - took almost 3 weeks to get fixed. Then the headliner had to be replaced, as well as the acrylic trim on the roof and hatch. It's also now starting to make some funky noises. Since he's a Rivian employee he get's a loner vehicle, but if it's a customer who needs a repair, you're sol while it gets repaired.
Hope you feel better. I thought about ordering the X (after my test drive) but here are my issues: Car insurance would double over the Y. Worried about having to replace the large windshield. And when driving in Texas I noticed I was warmer with that larger windshield over my head. Now if they could just put the air shocks in the Y. But it is still cool to own. I guess I'm just too rational. You quit a great medical job to be a you tuber. Go for it!
I priced out insurance on the X. It was just a little bit more than the Y for me. Even with the Plaid. I was surprised.
I’ve had my X for 4 years and I have only had to replace the windshield once. With my other cars almost yearly, so I just added glass coverage for super cheap to my insurance and I didn’t have to pay for it. The windshield is heavily slopped so the rocks have just deflected off. The one that cracked it looked like a baseball. 😅
The Model Y has an even bigger glass roof and will be much hotter than the X.
I’ve driven x/s’s for over 7 years- aka before model Y existed. I think best bang for your buck is the Y but the air suspension and 0 problems in 7 years is why I’d suggest the X, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THATS HALF THE COST OF WHAT MINE WAS
Just ordered the MX, it’ll be my first Tesla. It’s the replacement for my minivan which got total. MX’s falcon door would be much easier for me to drop off the kids to school.
Nice intro and overall review! Yeah MYP does all I need, though I was thinking of what the Model X offers in comparison. Gonna stick with MYP!
I have been debating myself with what to get next as a Model 3 owner with 3 kids. The kids are getting older, but I would like around a 350 mile range as well. Waiting for that Cybertruck lol
That X is cool, and it getting the taxe break is so awesome for that car. We are a 2023 model Y at the start of May and absolutely love it. I never think about gas prices or maintenance.
If you think there will be no maintenance you’re fooling yourself. No gas or oil yes but you’ll see what maintenance is.
@@XX-166The only maintenance I’ve done is tires and windshield wiper fluid after 36k miles.
@@MervinGutierrez time awaits you….
@@XX-166you’ve already lost the argument. He said that it’s been 36k miles.
@@gild651 nice try girl.. bigger failure.. you do wear his public relations skirt well
Every thought of yours is SPOT ON !
Don't forget free over-the-air updates. And FSD if you opt to have that as well.
‘Little tikes’ I loled for like 10 minutes 😂
I’m rooting for you to get it. I’m debating getting one and would love to get your opinion of it long term.
Those are really cool and that’s great that they get the tax incentive. We got a model Y early May and love it so much never think about gas or maintenance
Wonderful, enjoy! ❤❤❤
Would like to see you testing this out in the garage. How the falcon doors function in that space.
Go for it! X is on another level for not that much more, relatively.
So true. Safety, performance, space, technology ❤❤❤
Base to base it's basically 44k for a Y and 80k for an X. That's like an 80% increase. Do you feel like an X provides 180% the value of a Y? I'm honestly asking because I'm in the market. I just am not sure the space, ride quality and cool doors are worth that much to me, especially being able to probably get a refresh 2021 S LR for the same price as a new MYP in Feb.
Dude I didn’t know baby number 2 was on the way already! Congratulations! I e got a third on the way and am thinking about the X with the bench to upgrade from my MY. We already got the Wagoneer so this one won’t really be for hauling as much
Great Video Ben!!!
Thank you!
I had put in a $1000 deposit on a Fisker Ocean Extreme and had been waiting on that car for a year but when i saw that the MX price had been dropped low enough I decided to forfeit my deposit and go for the MX. I also have a kid coming early next year year and I couldn't ignore the saftey that comes with this vehicle. In a perfect world i would get the EX90 but thats at least a year out so this is the best choice for me in this moment. Good luck with you decision and congrats on growing your family. Thanks for the video!
Niiiiiice!!! Best of luck and enjoy! The safety of these cars is absolutely phenomenal ❤❤❤
We got the X Plaid. Love the falcon wing doors to kid the kid in and out. The 6 seat layout is the best in my opinion- balance of easy ingress/egress and people carrying capacity.
Problem with 6 seater is seats don't go down. Hate that about it
@@qman66 true but there’s still quite a bit of space. What I found more useful in my Y was the ability to use the roof rack for really long item (16ft lumber or sheets of plywood cut in half) as well as a roof top cargo box. Still trying to figure out how to jury-rig something on top of the X.
I like that the rear seats are sitting on pedestals & aren't flush to the floor. They should do that with the front seats, too.
You did not mention that as soon as you put ONE option on it, it doesn’t qualify for the tax credit anymore if you’re filing personally.
With that said, you can only get a 5 seater in black interior to qualify for the tax credit.
Let us know how the demo goes with car seats - loading kids and what not! Strollers etc. that’s the reason I’m also considering upgrading from the MY too.
So do you like the Rivian r1s or Tesla model x more?
Congratulations on baby #2 my man.
I got Berlin made TMY and I was considering TMX as well, but then I realized that there will be no proper front parking assistant with this big ship. Tesla vision is currently not reliable. And I doubt it ever will be without camera in front bumper (as new model 3? not sure there).
I have the plaid. Just because it’s fast has perfect performance and software it’s close to $90.000. Real deal should worth 60
Its crazy its 100k in Europe ( 1 euro = 1.1 US dollar)
I did the same thing, glad to see the Y go, I have a cyber on order and did order early so waiting to see what happens with that. Then it’s either back to Range Rover or the Riv. Model X was a consideration but 79k I don’t think it’s worth it. I had a Range Rover snd that was great. Didn’t have any issues with it but it more money. The X does not look that great to me, it’s just ok. Tech is sweet so I hope cyber is priced well otherwise it’s onto another brand. I do know someone with the Riv suv and they love it. Cool thing is there is plenty of choices. Good luck with what you decide on.
Yes clearly it is. It was just 120k. I leased a 23 MSLR. Feels so much better than my Y. Love it. But I considered the X. I just love those doors! Get it!
The Rivian R1S is so much better! I was in the same boat as you debating about these two vehicles. We ended up with the Rivian and couldn't be happier. So much more space and a true 7 seater SUV.
Rivian is so ugly looking
@@andrewhoang8611 really? It’s way better looking than Tesla. Tesla looks like an egg
@@jambaman916 and Rivian looks like what? Like a dumb robot😂
@@andrewhoang8611 Dang you got us Rivian owners there...
Nice! I went to that Texas Roadhouse when I went to Tempe
6’2” with flexibility issues, so MX is so much more comfortable than MY for me and smoother quieter ride with great audio, albeit 35k more.
They got a red 2023 model x 15k miles for 45,000$ it's salvage tho is it worth it ?
Does the round steering wheel block much of the front display? Do you prefer the yoke or the round steering wheel?
I prefer the round wheel
Go for it! A bargain at this price! Space is better than the Y and the price is just crazy now! Get the 6-seater as it is spacious with those middle seats that are just bloody cool and the back seats can be placed flat to open a giant boot!
Have to get the base 5 seat option, as adding either the 6 or 7 seater adds to the cost, which then puts the Model X above that $80k price cap for the tax credit.
I love it! The white on white is what I would get
I think you hit the nail on the head comparing a 100k+ vehicle to an 80k (roughly) vehicle. I believe the value is now there when it originally wasn't. Not too far of a stretch from a MYP, at least what I paid. Almost zero maintenance, the unrivaled tech, additional room, etc makes it a no-brainer. Coupled with the tax credit and if the payment fits your budget it almost makes no sense NOT to get it. You would open yourself up for more YT content as well. With the 3 and Y so 'mainstream', everyone wants to give their opinion on their experiences and everyone's content just starts to run together and becomes a blur. The 3 and Y content has been hashed, re-hashed to where I just don't watch it anymore. The caveat is that now the X is more attainable that there will be more video content from other new owners. As I am typing this I am now realizing how the MY is SUCH a great value in terms of comparison to the X and to be able to own this amazing tech at an affordable prices still astounds me.
Idk why I'm watching this video. I would never get an EV but the humor kept me here.
haha glad to hear that
Nice video as usual. Very timely for me because my almost 3 yr old 2021 model Y has 153k miles and I am pondering the purchase of a model X also since the price drop. Or do I wait until January and let use the rebate as part of my down payment?!
Rebate as a down payment is a way better option if you can wait
Get it! The technology, all bells and whistles make up for the interior material quality!
I don't think the interior quality is bad at all, I think it's great
We are in the exact same situation, should we or shouldn’t we. We paid the $250 fee just in case the prices went up. When the falcon doors are opened with the garage door up, how does it fit?
The doors open as much as possible without hitting anything.
I would suggest checking out the R1S as well
Glad to hear the family is expanding.
Just do the X….man.
You fit the bill to a tee for a typical Tesla owner
I've watched several videos of Model Xs having their rear doors damaged from driving off before they are completely closed. As Tesla is a technology-led company, can't they install a system to prevent this very expensive mishap?
It warns you if you leave them open.
After buying this exact same model x coming from a 2018 RWD model 3 hands down it’s worth the price. I fkn love my x. Albeit justifiably so with potentially another little one soon as a model 3 would not be able to fit 2 car seats comfortably with how far I needed the driver seat back. There is so much more space and nicer feeling ride than my 3. The doors can be finicky though so take caution of that. With the tax incentive this hands down beats anything on the road for 73k after the tax credit. Rivian can’t touch this for the price and charging infrastructure Tesla already has and idc that they’ll “get access” to some of the chargers in 2024.
Tesla’s advantage is charging facility, I would get a Lucid Gravity instead and hoping that their charging facility improves overtime, in the meantime i’d be charging at home most of the time
Hope you’re feeling better soon!
Feeling a lot better now, thank you
I like the model x; however, after almost 6 months of debate I wasn’t convinced by fancy doors and an extra screen (and less efficiency). I chose the Y.
"...something that could go wrong with these doors" :D
I think the sweet spot is the 3-row version but the added 'upgraded' would put the car over the federal incentive. Could it replace my MYP? Considering I paid near 70K for one at the peak of 2022, sure but I've yet to find a X within my circle of friends and family where the falcon doors work as intended. There's always something wrong.
The backs of the seats on my MX 2023 are leather wrapped though.
This has been my dilemma. Considering after the tax credit a MX is the same price I paid for my MYP it almost seems like a no brainer. The issue comes with being under water on the MYP after all the price reductions. So either keep the Y, trade it in and pay the negative equity off, or have both. 🤦🏻♂️
I’ve had both, totally not worth it right now bro!
Ranger Rover maintenance is crazy expensive. Don't dare break something. A neighbor had to replace the front bumper assembly; $9000.
Biggest maintenance thing I’ve had with my X is the front end suspension. It’s been replaced multiple times. If I bought another I’d get the extended warranty. Very very few other repairs. It’s just too powerful for the weight I think.
Is your X an older one? Before 2020?
@@abdulquadriolawin6585 it is a 2019 Raven addition. Got it right when they came out in mid 2019.
Model x and f150 lightning cost around same which one well u get?
Model X
With Lucid Gravity now starting at just under $80,000 per CEO (mostly likely either $79,995 or $79,990) It is a formidable competitor to Tesla's Model X (which I also own one). I must admit that the Lucid has better 3rd row headroom due to a higher roof line all the way to the location of spoiler. The Model X (as with any other Teslas) is more of the shape of a jelly bean. And the front seats on the frunk for the Lucid Gravity is really a big plus for picnic and family gathering. Also, the Lucid Gravity should beat Tesla in range for all the different trims which are comparable to those of Model X. It will be interesting. I, for one, is not very content with Tesla's quality. Now, there is a formidable option which is also from a very high-end brand (although somewhat new) - Lucid.
I have a model x would be nice if you did a comparison with an r1s thinking of switching to rivian
Wait until Rivian puts the NACS (North American Charging Standard) connector so that their EV's can natively use superchargers without the need for an adapter. Rivian signed on with using Tesla's connector so that they can use most of the superchargers Tesla has built out, and continues to build.
Are you going to try the CX90 Phev?
i was locked in as soon as i heard "good evening pigs" , pig checking in
Go for it!!!
I never understand the rwason everybody hates the wood grain interior accents. That's the reason I wouldn't get a white interior (3/Y). The cream interior for s/x is calling tho.
I am also hesitating between model y, model x and kia ev9. So i am waiting for the new model y to see. Until then I will try to review/drive also others ev. Because you never know what on the market comes
"I had to say that for liability purposes" - Bazinga Gjeebs
Do you like the white over the Ultra Red?
No I like Ultra red better
yes, the price is great but I don't need to pay for that wings. I wish they made a cheaper trim model X with regular doors. Just a thought.
You never said how you close the front door with your hand on something in the front ? Also get some Thera flu instead of NyQuil it will be better for your cold:)
Model S Plaid on sale for 95k? Only 15K more.... hmm.....Feel better man, love your vids.
haha too much for me right now I am thinking Audi e-tron to try for a little
The new X has noise cancelling tech that your Y might not have. My new X is much much quieter than my 2020 X. The falcon wing doors are great for getting in and out with kids & packages. The X sound system is amazing. I paid $98K for my '23 X and don't feel cheated at all.
Yea my Y for sure does not have that. I love how the X rides and the sound system is incredible
Hi Did you buy one ?
I’ve gone round and round with all of the competitors. Rivian drives firm like a truck fyi. Hard to bet Model X with new pricing. Agreed no way it worth over 100k. They got the price right but knowing Elon price can get jacked up over night.
I've never sat in a Model X, but I own a Model Y Long Range. If you've got money to burn, why not get it? But I personally don't think it's worth $30K more than a Model Y. It's a second faster, has 10 miles more range, has the gull wing doors (which can be seen as a positive or a negative. I see it as neither). I believe the frunk auto opens and closes, while you have to manually do so on the Model Y. The front screen tilts (big whoop). The battery is 19kWh bigger, which is a lot, but the extra performance means you only get 10 more miles of range. To me, it's a car that should be $12K more, not $30k.
If you're trying to decide between the X and the Rivian R1S, I'd say the Rivian is more functional, with a more traditional roof slope, which makes adding a roof rack easier. But let's be honest: nobody uses an SUV to actually do SUV stuff these days. Worst case scenario, you get a trailer if you need to move stuff around! I personally see the Rivian as better other than one huge thing and that's the charging network. Even with Rivian getting access to the Tesla super charging network, it doesn't get access to all chargers. If you do a lot of road tripping, I'd get the X.

You thinking 5 seat or larger?
5 seat is what I would go with
I can tell you with three kids you will need that third row. They should make the 7 seater below 80k it would sell like hotcakes. With the tax credit
@@scotthall1381 that would sell like hot cakes. You serve a great point.
If getting it to replace your Model Y, I'd say no, it's not worth the tradeoff. But if you're getting it for Jamie to replace her current vehicle, then it's probably worth it for the crash safety ratings alone. I'm sure that will be weighing on your mind a lot more than if you were a single guy, as cars can be replaced, but people can't.
🔥🔥 didn’t know about overnight test drives 🧐
Oh boy look at me I have rear wing doors.. lol lol lol
Way to go Mr wizard
I'll put an order in if you do!
The X is sweet and i dont see them like
That around my way i see tons of Ys.
I see Ss here and there but nothing like the Ys. Yea i like X alot
Model Y is a lot cheaper, hence more people can afford them.
@@Geckogold I see I alot of Bmw 7 series and Mercedes S-Class on the road and they are not affordable like that..
Assume this is a $100K vehicle because something or a couple things will go bad outside the warranty and bite you for $20K in repairs - almost all of it labor. But that's still cheaper than a EQS SUV or IX which are going to cost you $30K in repairs. It's possible one might escape the repairs but people shopping for a Model Y or Mach E need to consider the much higher costs when repairing the air bladders or the falcon doors and things like that.
The worst thing about my MX is, like Gjeebs said, it doesn't feel like a $100K vehicle. The EQS and BMW and Audi products have much more comfortable seating. But Tesla didn't put the money into the seats, the put it into the safety cage, the batteries, the charging network, the infotainment UI, the more reliable designs (octovalve is more reliable cooling but the falcon doors are obviously much more problematic than conventional doors). As far as space, speed, ease of use and reliability the Tesla beats them. I wish they had a King Roland edition (the dad in Spaceballs) with a more luxurious interior.
Actually the seats in my X are the best I've ever had. I'm 67 and can go 500 miles without a cramp or pain.
It seems that the only Model X cars that qualify now for the $7,500 tax incentive are showroom demos. If I could get the air suspension on the Model Y - it would be a sale today.
You have to have better fit and finish to go along with that air suspension
imho, you should get a Model S plaid for $90K 🙂
Yeah if you want the 6 seat interior it's sort of a no Brainer... on a side note I found out insurance between a plaid and lr was only about 5/month difference. Not too bad.
@@sethssdCool.
Tesla insurance?
Nah state Farm. It is 50% more than the model y though for reference /6 months
It’s nice but just not necessary since you already have the Y
I say stretch and go for the R1S. You already have a Tesla and have done a ton of videos on it. Interest in the X is very low as far as CZcams goes. Diversify and get the R1S. This is coming from another Tesla fan and owner.
The service possibilities aren’t there with the Rivian yet.
Yeah. I like Volvos but I wouldn't want to get a lot of Volvos or Volvo and Polestar which are very similar. Going for a different make shows the relative strengths and weaknesses of each brand and gives a comparative perspective.
With Fed tax help, way less than similar size suv EVs (Polestar 3, Kia ev6, gravity, R1S, Volvo) and can get one quicker plus Tesla s/w is the best in the industry.
As I understand it, in order to stay under $80K and get the tax incentive, you can only get black seats, regular back doors, standard wheels, and round steering wheel. You can still pick exterior color.
Please explain what you mean by regular back doors lol
I think he meant regular back seats (5seat option)
Non gull wing@@Gjeebs
FYI, they are Falcon wings, and they are standard equipment, not an option. @@donnmckinnon
Sorry, I was very wrong about the doors. They still come with "Falcon Wings". An article I read a month or so ago said that they could lower the price considerably more if they put in standard doors. Thanks for the correction.@@Annette_Hons
I'm in literally your shoes. When Tesla was 100k Rivian was a clear winner. But I had reservation for Rivian R1S for over a year now... And the car is not even close to be delivered. And tesla dropped the prices dramatically. Now it's a no brainer. On top of that if you buy with business it's additional -$29k. So suddenly model X cost you similar price to Model Y...
HOLD OFF!!!!! I’d be willing to bet that the S and X will see another price drop soon. The super slow new car sales months, December/January, are coming up soon. Maybe then you could option the white interior and still stay under the $80k threshold for the tax credit.
I agree I think more price cuts are coming

No maintenance?? The full parking lot at my local tesla service center says differently. Tesla does in fact still need to use all the same kinda stuff other suvs have like suspension, brakes, etc. Turns out those can break, and they arent made of tesla unicorn dust.
Are you sure those arent vehicles waiting to be picked up by new owners? Deliveries.
Obviously tires, brakes and suspension will always need servicing! But how about oil changes, transmission fluid change, timing belt, serpentine belt, spark plugs, coil packs, coolant flush, air intake filter? These are all maintenance items that even the most reliable gas car need. That’s what he means by no maintenance when you compare EVs to ICE cars!
@@Killyang Timing belt every 100K plus miles, same for transmission fluid change. Spark plugs every 70-85K and so forth. A lot of issues on cars are sensors needing replacement, onboard monitoring related crap.
The Model X, was and still is to large extend a great vehicle, however its engineering and construction is circa 2012. The model Y and the latest Model 3 Highland are on a completely different level with all the tech improvements since 2012/14. I looked at the Model X ~ 5 months ago, however I purchased the Model Y Perf as I felt it was more relevant in terms the latest tech. In my view Tesla have been price cutting the Model S & X because they are not selling like they used to, the Market is telling Tesla, modernize these two vehicles with the tech that you have on the Model Y/3.
Model S and X both had substantial refresh in 2021.
Model X was not available for sale for 8 months.
Exactly what tech does the model y have that the model x doesn’t have?
Question how do you qualify for tax rebate ? Isn’t your income over the max limit ? Honestly if you can afford an X how does anyone not make over the federal limit ?
The income limit is $150k for singles and 300k for married couples.
Yes thank you. You shouldn’t be buying an $80,000 + car (don’t forget to add $$ for sales tax) if you make $300,000. Or less.
Very good question, who can afford a $80k new car deserves $7500 tax credit, while two hard worker making $300k combined could not. These rule makers were using toes instead of brains for thinking.
Tax credit on the R1S is $3500, as long as it is below $80,000. A LOT more room for a growing family. Fit and finish much better than the X.
Funny how those who waited forever for a rivian, got them and sold them in less then a year due to having a lot of common issues being a brand new start up automaker. Wait a few years for a rivian until they get the kinks worked out
So....Are you pulling the trigger on the X or R1S? lol My wife hates Tesla and prefers the Rivian but man 25k does make a difference.
Leaning more toward the X. I am also considering a used etron for 35k lol
I hear ya. I’m looking at a used quad motoe (27 miles) R1S for 93k.
