Since posting this, the sun has come out and water levels have come down. I wouldn't be fearful of driving on the road from Pigeon Forge to Gatlinburg (The Spur). But I this is a reminder to never drive distracted, especially in rain. I don't know any driver that could have avoid the tree falling. Thankfully everyone behind the car involved was paying attention and able to stop quickly!
@@annreynolds2834 I haven't been by there to confirm it has opened back up, but I would assume they worked hard to get the road clear by now. They know this road is important to keep open and are quick to resolve issues.
Cookout is good but mainly because the prices are reasonable. Chattanooga area has 3 of them now. The shakes are the best part. Everything else is average but at a great price point. Crazy you caught that tree falling !
We were in Pigeon Forge until 7/15-7/20. The weather was terrible the day we left but it was nice while we were there. Your videos helped us tremendously on our vacation. Thank you so much for all you do. We appreciate you
Pretty cool to see this water level. I have been going to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge for almost 50 years. I’ve never got to witness this water level. However, I have been blessed with the opportunity to experience a foot of snow in Gatlinburg (downtown)! It was so beautiful. I will never forget it.
I work in the old mill district. We had to keep checking on the water running beside of the store and restaurant. If it had gotten worse they would have to close since it runs under the building. Cookout is great! We had them where I use to live. The milkshakes and bbq plate is very good. TY for braving the rain and stopping to see if that vehicle was ok.
Thankfully it didn't get worse Cathi! We look forward to giving a try when they open! I was very careful & safe as I went out and did what I would hope others would do for my wife & kids if they were in an accident.
Thanks for sharing this video. Man, that was a close call with that tree falling. Glad no one was hurt. Those rivers are really angry since all that rain. Y’all be careful out there. We have seen it bad there with heavy rains, but can’t remember it ever being that bad. Thankfully no one was injured with that tree falling. Thanks For Sharing
We were on The Island that day, their lower parking lot was under water as well. We passed the tree accident on our way back to the hotel in Gatlinburg just in time it looks like with the road closing. Be safe everyone. Get outside and have fun!!

@AdventureIsOutThere Thank you for letting us know!!! Our anniversary is Tuesday and we came there for our honeymoon and every anniversary since!!! We love it!!!
Thanks for sharing Ryan. A bit to much rain, but I like the look of Gatling and Pigeon Forge with some rain. I think it has rained at least one day each visit in the spring.
Thank you for the update me and my family are supposed to come in August.. Goodness pigeon Forge is like my 2nd home so is Gatlinburg.. Yikes my goodness on the tree coming down thank goodness nobody was hurt. I was there last February with my hubby.
Wow!! That was close!. So thankful to the Lord that everyone was OK. We were driving through the national park on the little river road in the rain one time and a big rock slid off of the mountain beside us and onto the road right in front of us. We were so thankful that it did not hit us. We went to the Sugarlands Visitors center and told a ranger about it, and they closed that road down. Thank you for sharing this with us. It was very interesting and informative as always. Keep pushing the plow my brother.
Thanks Smoky Mountain Man! I told the man involved that thankful it came down in front of the car and not on top of it. There have been other instances where people have ended up much worse on the spur from a tree landing on their car! Hope you have a great weekend!
