- Talking About Meal Planning * Showing You My Cookbooks & Planner * Rambling & Blah, Blah, Blah *
Hi Friends!
This video is kind of a long, soft-spoken (and very unscripted!) ramble, talking about meal planning, especially as I prepare for guests next week! I do my best to be organized, but also stay flexible.
And of course, there is a lot of talking to “zone out” to if you just want to hear the blah, blah, blah of my voice. 😊

I'm terminally ill and on hospice. I have to move into a facility. I have a lot of stress. Dying isn't easy. A lot of people leave you because they can't handle it. You help me so much. You have no idea. You help so many people.
I’m so sorry to hear. Hospice nurses are amazing angels on earth. I hope they help put you at ease. 🙏 I’m glad you have Jeannie too ❤️
Dear friend - life is like Velcro. We pull away slowly - or quickly - detaching, ripping really, from this world as we head to what’s next. All of us. Some of us know it, others don’t.
I bid you so much peace and love. Any way I can help, even a little bit, is beyond an honor, my friend.
Such Kind Thoughts 💭 Jeannie B❤
Blessings and good thoughts your way 🙏❤️
Reading your comment breaks my heart. There was a point in my life when I didn't know if I would make it. The isolation and constant worrying. Just when I made peace with it, I was cleared of the threat. I wish you peace and love. I'm praying for you 🙏❤️
Curling up in bed. But my mind is going a million miles a second. Now I can take a deep breath and listen to your soft, soothing voice. Thank you!
I love seeing you here, my dear Olivia. I think of you so much! ♥️♥️♥️
@@JeannieBASMR Words escape me so I'll just say, Thank you!
Every time I watch your videos I'm not only suuuuuper relaxed, I'm also inspired to live a better life. Always such a delight :)
Love that!
I've never had a mum, she passed away when I was 4 days old... Although, I was brought up by wonderful grandparents and dad. .. I think ive found my CZcams mum.. ( you) you are soooo relaxing to listen to. .. and you do give me a mum vibe !!
Oh, Rosella - that is so sweet. I’m so glad you had your grandparents. And I’m happy to be your CZcams mum! 🥰
Such a wonderful surprise to see this pop up in my feed as I’m about to go to sleep. Nothing like a little “blah blah blah” to help relax and ensure tomorrow is a great day! Thanks, as always, Jeannie for the soothing content!
Sweet dreams! Hopefully the rambling helps you doze off! 😁
Hi Jeannie really cheeky of me but you could rename yourself Jeannie BB ASMR. For the blah blah. Lol. 😆😹
@@laniey381 😁🤣
Of course I watched the entire thing silly!🥰 You are just too cute lol. Hope you're able to get out of jury duty when your friends are visiting.🙏🏼
Anyways, I've posted quite a few videos so far, but the algorithm still hasn't found me as of yet. It's starting to get me down & has me wondering if I'm just wasting my time, as nobody seems to be interested still. It's already been like a month now!😭
@@ibwendybASMR I know it’s frustrating in the beginning. I was at 60 on month 2, then started jumping after that. Hang in there.
And I hope I am not called for jury duty! Too much going on!
♥️♥️♥️♥️
I could see how much you enjoyed this video, and you were such a natural at it - talking about something that you love to do and are so passionate about which is nurturing your family and planning/putting meals together and just eating! I feel the same way. I enjoyed watching this video. I feel almost like I’m going to be part of your German visitors so hopefully they’ll be lots of videos and stories about your adventures and things that happened while they were there. I’m looking forward to that. See you again soon!
♥️🥰
I could watch this kind of video all day long! I live in West Yorkshire, England and I call the evening meal 'tea'. It's more of a northern England thing I believe 😊
I live in west yorks too 😱
Im in the UK and we sometimes call our dinner our tea. Also you can have dinner around 5 or 6pm then have tea or supper later around 9. Like toast and a cuppa. Something light :)
Ok - makes sense!
That's right, I love a good tea and supper. No other country can do that like us. 🇬🇧❤
I am so glad you listened to your grandson and you make ASMR.I love the videos you make you help slow my nighttime overthinking down ✨✨
I keep telling him how grateful I am for his suggestion! 🥰
I’m glad they help you a bit…even through my tech struggles. 😋
I just found your channel yesterday, thanks to our shared love for books. I lost my only grandparent, my grandma in 2015 due to Ovarian Cancer. She was a beautiful, elegant intelligent and interesting woman. I didn't get to spend as much time with her. You remind me of her. How much she loved cooking, learning, reading and looking beautiful. I now believe people who love us never really leave us. They always exist and show up in things and places and people you never could think of. Thank you.
This was such a lovely message to read, Alavi. Thank you for sharing this personal story with me! 🥰
Your channel brings such comfort and calmness to me. Always makes me day!
So glad to read this! Thank you!
I love that the cookbooks teach etiquette as well as cooking, even though the times are different now that’s still fascinating 😌
Yes - good point. They really encompasses a lot. The older book I showed had all kinds of household tips - medical things, how to do laundry, making soaps, etc. Great book if we ever have to be off the grid.
Ms. Jeannie thank you I love this video. Love to hear the stories, reminds me of asking my grandparents and parents their stories and traditions. Be blessed 😊
Going through the toughest time in my life right now and putting this video on was like a warm hug, it brought me to tears. Thank you for caring so much to make these videos. 40 minutes of peaceful distraction about such a cosy and calming subject. Sending love to you, Jeannie xx
Aw, hugs to you, luv! ♥️
Jeannie B has that affect. Sending you good vibes and prayers. Hope things get better for you soon StripesAndHearts xoxoxoxo
This is incredible!! I love old recipes, my mom has some super delicious recipes from my grandmother before I was here.
I love that you have the recipes books from a long time ago. It’s incredible to see all the history in here and passing down traditions!
Thank you for this amazing video! Makes need feel at home again! ❤️❤️
Thank you for this, Rachel!
Perfect timing. Getting ready for bed and this popped up! Thank you!
Yay! Sweet dreams, dear Jean! 😍
I think now we all need a video of at least one of your amazing recipes!! You had me dreaming about all of them, also gave quite a few ideas for my own meal prep! Thank u for this
Coming up, luv! Soon! 🥰
My new favorite! You’re so genuine and sweet! I love the authenticity ❤
Thank you, dear Emily!! 🥰
Thank you Jeannie 🙏🏼❤️🩹 your voice is so soothing and helps ease anxiety of having Long Covid in my 5th month now. Thank you so much for everything you do. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🎄✨
Auntie Nee Nee, every time you drop a video it feels like you're right on time. As a man who enjoys cooking, I love the fact that you're sharing some of your cooking recipes with us. Besides, I need some of them in my house. Especially that homemade marinara sauce. I can still smell it from the smartphone screen. Again, thank you for taking time with us. Have a safe trip overseas and teach that man of the house how to cook. Even if he gotta be a microwave chef, he's gotta start off somewhere. 😂
Hello, love! Thank you for your message that makes me smile - always! I'm good with the hubby not cooking. We each have our strengths, so...he can stick to the outside things and I'll stick to the inside things! Lol! XOX
In Scotland - they might call your dinner 'tea'. "What are ye hae'n fur yur tea?" Upper classes / English folk might say "supper". That's posh.
Very interesting! I grew up with “dinner” so “dinner” it will be! Lol! I know if I offer”tea” my husband will expect a cup of earl grey! 😄
I love listening to you. It reminds me of the mom I wished I had growing up🥰
Hugs, darling! XOX
Yay!! A new video to fall asleep to after a particularly stressful day. Thank you so much! ❤️
You’re a nurse? Thank YOU for what you do!! Please rest well! ♥️♥️♥️
I’m so glad that Maria recommend your channel. I’ve been really enjoying your videos. ❤
🥰 Love our girl Maria!
Yay!! Hi Jeannie!!!! Thank you for doing this.
Hello Jeannie, loved your bla bla video quite interesting to know the facts during the 1950's way of style of cooking. Its lovely to see that you had kept your mother inlaws instructions in your folder very heartwarming and also not to forget your mothers 1950's cookbook and the memories that you recall when your mother cooked for you and the family.
Australian's say dinner and is around between 5pm to 7:30pm and the latest is 8pm. Depends which state. There is morning tea say around 10am to 11am. Afternoon tea around 3pm. This is mainly having a break from work for 15 min (only if the business that you work at encourage their employees to stop work for 10 to 15 min) or you have guests that pop around (to your home) and stay for an hour or so and have a cuppa tea or coffee with biscuits or have some cake or so.
Thanks for sharing!
Jeannie, you remind me of my Mom at times, and it’s so comforting for me. I lost her 10 years ago, and she has never met her granddaughter. What a loss. You are so calming, relaxing, classy, and sweet. I’m so happy I found you! ❤
This means a lot to me. Thank you.
Jeannie, you’re adorable!! I love your personality, your character. Your channel is so refreshing and down to earth.💗 Thank you for being you!!
Thank you for this! You made my day! 🥰
Lovely video Jeannie!
I'm from Scotland, I usually say "tea". You'll hear a lot of grannies saying "you hud yer tea, hen?" 😂
Aw, I love that!
I'm also from Scotland. We would generally use "tea" in our family too. However, if we were going out for the evening meal, we'd say we're "going out for dinner", not "going out for tea". Confusingly, my Dad sometimes calls lunch "dinner", which I think he got from his parents. I've heard some other Scottish people using that too, but it's not very common. I don't really ever hear Scottish people using "supper" to describe the evening meal, though it does get used to describe certain kinds of food, e.g., a "fish supper", and I think that may be exclusively a Scottish thing.
Btw Jeannie I love your channel!
All So True Bonnie 🏴 😂
Love your channel, so glad I found you. Don't ever let negative comments get to you because your content is amazing!
Thank you!
I could watch this for days. Talking about cookbooks and recipes... love it! BTW I'm from New England and grew up saying supper (or "suppah", lol). Dinner was what you had after church on Sundays.
Love it! Thank you!
Cooking and serving meals to others is my love language also. Your videos are very soothing. Thank you.
Awesome! Thank you!
Your videos have been such a help to me while I have been sick and struggling to sleep. I listen to you all night. Missing sleep and being sick always brings me a lot of anxiety, but having your voice in my ears helps keep me comforted. Thanks for all you do. Never underestimate your impact!
I hope your visit goes well. ❤️
Sending you peace, dear Miss Molls! Thank you for sharing this with me! XOXO 💗💗💗
Ahhhh that kitchen again 😍😍😍 thanks for the good night chat... Love ya Mama J!
Your kitchen is stunning!!!! You are stunning! Thank you for making my day calmer!
Aw, thank you! 😊
Such a relaxing video. I love old cookbooks. I have a collection of church lady cookbooks, they are the BEST 🥰
Yes - my email is in the description. :) Heading out now, so won't be back til later this afternoon (Calif. time.).
Also I have to say thank you for normalising intermittent fasting and the Keto diet. As an aspiring holistic nutritionist on my own healing journey I appreciate you sharing this! 🎉🙏🏼
Hey Jeannie, firstly I love your channel!! I’m in Australia and here we call it tea or dinner but I’m from South Australia so mainly tea time is what we call our main meal at night. Thanks for these wonderful calming chats I love them ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Denise! Thank you for being here and sharing this info! I’m loving all the responses!
Jeannie- I absolutely love your channel! Your voice is so soothing!! Incidentally, I looked up the difference between “dinner” and “supper” and there actually is a slight difference. While they both refer to a main meal, “dinner” is a formal meal and “supper” is informal. Enjoy your trip!!
Thank you, dear Aaron! XO
This is so lovely Jeannie! Thank you for sharing, I love hearing about family recipes and cookbooks. I come from a long line of women who are legendary cooks and hostesses, and I'm lucky to have some of their cookbooks so I can try my hardest to live up to the family name ;) This was so calming in such a special way, thank you 💛
How awesome to come from a long line of good cooks! Mmmm! Women to inspire you! ❤
Hi Jeanie, I'm from the UK (South Wales) we say lunch or dinner for midday food, dinner or tea for food 5pm+ supper is a small snack before bedtime. Love your videos, really interesting and relaxing. Thank you. X
Thank you, Vanessa! Gosh, I’d love to visit Wales - and eat whatever they call it! 🥰
Amazing video... so therapeutic and relaxing! ❤️
OH MY GOODNESS I WAS HOPING TO SEE A NEW VIDEO TODAY! This video is absolutely perfect timing! Thank you so much!! ❤
Sleep well, dear Avery!
Another perfect video from you. Life has been a bit manic recently and has had me stressed but your videos always calm me right down. As someone from the UK in regards to your question I would call it dinner, tea is only ever in reference to either a cup of tea like you thought or an afternoon tea where you would have little sandwiches, cakes, scones with jam and cream and obviously tea :)
I’m hungry right now. Scones and jam sound sooooo good, no matter what you call it! ☕️
I am a recent Ontario subscriber to your channel and am so glad I discovered you! You are a breath of fresh air! Your videos are soothing and calming and light, just what the doctor ordered! You are helping me to relax in the evenings so I can sleep so thank you! You have so so much to share from your life, the blah blah blah is all quite fascinating!
You really are like gentry to me, riding and owning horses on that gorgeous property! And the travel! Out of reach for most of us! But I revel in your stories and live vicariously thru them! And think yes maybe I could do this too!
Aw, Mary Anne, this is so sweet! You have no idea how much this touches my heart. Gentry - that made me giggle.
I’m very glad you’re here and I hope to hear more from you! I love Ontario, btw. Lots of friends in that area. 🥰
Not long woken up and as my mental health has gotten to the point I can't leave my house this popped up just as I needed to calm my brain for today thank you 🥰❤️
Aw, honey. I’m glad it helps to calm you. Wishing you more and more peace, calmness, and bravery!
Wow! I recently came across your Channel and have been enjoying your asmr so much and when you mentioned el dorado hills my mouth dropped! I was born and raised there! I no longer live there but it holds a special place in my heart it was such a great small town to grow up in!!
Oooo Jeanie I’ve missed your calmness and pleasant voice ❤ I hope you and the family are well 🥰 all my love from the UK 🇬🇧 xx

Aw, thank you! Welcome to the family! 🥰
I loved this video so much..especially the meal planning. I was transported into your world. Wish you would take us again on this journey, and cant wait to hear more stories from you. Love your stuff Jeannie!! I am so grateful to have found you. You are a new favorite, and I'm very particular.
This is so sweet! Thank you so much! ❤
The cooking binders are a wonderful idea!! I find meal planning annoying so this is a great find! I'll have to put those on my Christmas list lol! Thanks!
Ahhh I’m so excited to see this is posted tonight! Thank you for uploading! I haven’t watched it yet but I know it’s going to be an excellent video! Thank you so much!! 😊
I promise - no cats meowing and trying to muscle in on the video! 😉 Rest well, Lupe!
I really needed this Jeannie, thank you. ❤
Scrambling to prepare for my first baby and feel so overwhelmed, this was a lovely break and gave me the opportunity to focus on something other than my personal zoo. 💐
You got this, dear Katie! Relaaaaaaax. All will be well and over with in the blink of an eye. Your baby will be here, s/he will be 2 months old, then 2 years old, then 20 faster than you can believe. Enjoy each moment, love!
In the UK, and if you’re from the north, food times can be named like so:
Breakfast
Dinner (lunch)
Tea (dinner)
Supper (a possible extra meal later in the evening)
From the south, its normally in this order
Breakfast
Lunch
Dinner
I’m from the Midlands, which is the central part of England and we tend to use the northern terms for food times. Around where I am, we tend to call tea also dinner, so you end up having two ‘dinner’ times + breakfast. 😇
Whew! Thank you for that! (Just feed me and call it whatever you want! Lol!)
I’m from Birmingham tooo
I recently discovered your channel and it brings me so much peace, thank you for all your amazing videos! Sending love from Mexico! ♥️♥️♥️
Hello to you in Mexico! We love Puerto Vallarta (among other places!) and will be vacationing there soon! ♥️
Such a lovely video I love how organised you are that gives me asmr and the page turning too .
I’m from England and tea is generally said more in the north of England and dinner in the south but we use supper too but to me supper is something like crackers and cheese and a warm milk or a sugary milky cup of tea and toast before bed .
Mmm. Thank you!
Jeannie, just had to tell you that I watched this multiple times while prepping a big meal for family who were visiting from out of town. It was the perfect accompaniment in the kitchen (though of course your warm, soothing tones also kinda made me want to take a nap), the meal turned out great and I felt like your welcoming spirit gave me a little extra push. You've also inspired me to try making bouef bourguignon! Thanks for another lovely video.
This is the best comment! Thank you, Kate!! 🥰
Oh, how I missed you, Jeannie! Thanks for the new video! 💝
❤️💕❤️
Hi Jeannie, Adore your videos. Thank you for the relaxation and entertainment.
I'm from Wales 🏴 and regarding meal times, we call lunch, "dinner" and evening meal "tea".. so you have breakfast, dinner, tea. Our supper is usually a small pre bedtime snack such as toast around 9/10pm so breakfast, dinner, tea, supper.
Got it! Thank you so much! ❤
I was very happy to see this notification of a new video today! So enjoyable! I'm stuck in bed, under we the weather with COVID, watching you 🙂
Oh no! Another Covid! Did you get too close to the screen when I had it?? Get well soon, dear friend! XOXO
The timing of this video was excellent, as you posted it just as I was contemplating what to have for breakfast and lunch.
I love a good schnitzel my self, and funnily enough one of the best ones I’ve ever tried was at a gas-station bistro/restaurant in Germany.
Yes! Those gas station restaurants are amazing! I forgot about that! ♥️😁
This was a much needed video for me tonight. My mom is having surgery tomorrow morning and I am always nervous when my parents have to go under general anesthesia. I have older parents that have some health issues so I know there are some added risks(I am trying to worry less about things I can't change like you talked about in one of your latest videos). Thank goodness it has always gone just fine in the past. Thank you for providing me with a way to relax a bit tonight. I hope you have a wonderful visit with your friends when they are in town🙂
Oh Leslie - I hope all goes well! Please let me know. Sending up a prayer for all. ❤️♥️❤️
Hi Jeannie, just wanted to say how much I enjoy your videos - they truly are a Godsend for me. I suffer from severe PTSD anxiety/panic attacks (as I’m sure is the case with other subscribers). You help me so much to the point that I can actually forgo anxiety meds. Everything about your videos are perfect - don’t change a thing - God bless you! ❤
This is so lovely to read, luv. I’m glad the videos help, truly. Hugs to you!!
Always happy to see a new video is up. You are lovely. Thank you!
Thank you, Stacy!
Love the idea of the binder with the laminated or plastic sleeves! I have a small one that I tried to do, it came with pages to write on, but that got old quickly.
This was amazing!!!🎉
For some reason when people talk about food I find it relaxing, this type of content always has a special place in my heart.
Glad you enjoy it!
Wonderful voice and sooo relatable!!!
I was going to take a nap, but I had to stay awake and listen to all the wisdom! As always, the ASMR is fantastic.
Aw, that’s so kind! 🥰
Hi. I am originally from Manchester, England and we say breakfast, dinner and tea (sometime we have supper just before bed) but I now love in Bristol, England (South west) and they say breakfast, lunch and dinner!!! It's a subject we like to debate in England hehe
Ha! I had no idea! This has been so interesting! 😁
I LOVE your kitchen!❣️
Thank you!
Your videos always help get rid of my ‘Sunday scaries’ 🥰
So glad, April! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Great timing 👏
I'm in bed with extremely painful pulled muscle, this is taking my mind off it & helping me to relax a little
Thankyou Jeannie xx
Oh no! Pulled muscles hurt so bad! (I know!) And rest is the only solution. Hope you heal fast, my dear Emma!
Ohh I'm so excited! I was going to suggest to do some asmr cooking videos with some of your recipes. 🥰 That would be lovely!
Ciao Carissima Jeannie B - being a list maker / planner and big cooker, i was getting anxious about having my parents as guests for a week for the first time - but your intro gave me a good idea of how to approach it. Just plan it out loosely like I do weekly already, duh ! Grazieeee 🤍
Thanks for sharing!!
Fantastic video as always. North England here, breakfast, dinner, and tea / supper are how we call the 3 daily meals.
😁♥️
As a child I always said breakfast, lunch and tea but as an adult I say dinner instead of tea. I’ve always understood supper to be a small snack, after dinner, before bed like cheese and biscuits or a bowl of cereal. My go to is spaghetti bolognaise. It is the best meal to hide lots of veggies from my husband. Thank you for another relaxing video Jeannie. Enjoy your time with your guests x
Thank you for this! Omg - I love spaghetti bolognese!!! Would you make some for me?? 😁 🍝
Went to look up on map and I think we were very close to there on our drive from Munich to Stuttgart. This was about four years ago, Let me tell you, after that visit to Germany I fell in love with this country! The people, the architecture, the mass transit, the Oktoberfest, even the German windows I still talk about!!! I can go on and on!
Yes, Laura! Me, too! Everything you named!
Jeannie-
Always lovely to a see a video from you in my feed. Loved the anecdote about "supper" vs. "dinner" … that’s a big debate in my family, haha! Your meal planner is so straight to the point and less convoluted than the ones online that make meal planning seem like a chore - definitely will check it out!
As always, thank you for lovely content and fascinating "blah blah blah" before bed. Keep on doing what you do!
All the best,
Brandon
Thank you for these kind words, Brandon! ❤
You are a wonderful and warm soul.
Thank you!
I grew up in New Jersey and my family always called it supper. Who knows where the term actually originated. Love your blahs! Enjoy your friends and vacation!
It’s funny, isn’t it. The change of terms, region to region. We love NJ. Such beautiful areas!
(Who knew I’d ever be complimented from someone saying they love my blahs! Lol!)
I grew up in an Irish household my family and I are from Ireland and we use the term tea and supper interchangeably typically it refers to a “snack” the includes having a cup of tea or milk with biscuits (cookies) we tend to have supper/tea an hour before bed 😊
🥰🥘
As a German I always find it so funny and cute how excited people get for Schnitzel! Although Currywurst is another German classic.
German potato Salad is such a broad discription because I don’t think there is any other dish that varys so much from region to region
It's so good! And we don’t really get it here like in Germany. And yes - there are so many versions of potato salad! All delicious! I can’t wait to get some.
I love currywurst!!
Yes! It’s breakfast, lunch and tea where I’m from in the UK😂
Yum, yum, and yum! ;)
I love cookbooks, meal planning, and your ASMR so this is just wonderful! I enjoy looking at older recipes, sometimes because they are so disgusting. The era of the ‘aspic’ is just beyond me, I have to imagine people enjoyed it mostly because it was kind of novel and not because it was genuinely good!
I love looking at those aspic foods! Lol! Glad I’m not alone! 😂
Greetings from Germany, dear Jeannie! Not from Ulm, but from Frankfurt! Actually, I was born „an der Donau“ - in Dillingen 🥰 so nice you like it there! Love your videos! You are such a talent - thank you so much 💖 have a nice vacation! ☀️
We love Frankfurt also! A very hip, business area and so diverse! Thank you for you lovely comments!
Love your videos because there is always such a wonderful story you tell! I'm a recent subscriber and am so glad I found your channel. As a South African, we call it supper 😁 Would love to see more meal ideas, always looking for inspiration ❤️
Welcome, dear Simone. I’m glad you’re here and thank you for your answer! 😊
This was sooo awesome & relaxing, hope u have a fantastic time w/ ur friends! ❤ (ps: u can ramble about tea all u want, we love it 😉!)
♥️🥰
Greeting from Frankfurt, Germany :) Love the German words you threw in like: Donau Schnitzel, Stadtmitte
Ah, danke! Wir lieben auch die stadt Frankfurt! (Bad German, I know!) 🥰
@@JeannieBASMR Not at all, sehr gut! 💖 Happy you like Frankfurt 💖☺️
It was so interesting hearing you say your husband calls dinner supper. Where I grew up in Eastern Oregon, about half of the population calls it supper and the other half refers to it as dinner. I was always amused by this as a child. 😊
We have friends in the Spokane area. I’ll have to listen to what they call it. (Beautiful area!)
In uk for me it’s breakfast , lunch, tea, and supper is after your tea if you want something JUST before bed like toast or shreddies (cereal)
Finally a long video
I started listening to your videos at work and I was waiting for a long one
In the last two days I listened to all of your videos probably twice
Thank you!
As a Canadian who's lived in both the US and the UK, I use lunch, dinner, and supper interchangeably. My baseline usage is lunch and supper, but sometimes I'll say dinner and then supper, or lunch and then dinner. Never dinner and dinner, of course - too confusing - but either one could potentially be dinner as long as I use lunch or supper for the other corresponding meal. :)
Ok, my poor little brain. (Jeannie sits at the table clutching her knife and fork saying, “Just feed me!) 😋🥰
your videos are so comfy😊 I helped my mom, back when I was in highschool, to make binders with recipes that she had saved from magazines, and she still has them! Some recipes are already a bit passé, but there are some jewels there. She's also very particular about always having a nicely put table when she has guests, even when those guests are only her children and grandchildren haha. I find it a bit too much at times, but I'm still greatful she thought us that you should care about the food and table when having people over. It shows respect and love!
Btw, here in Chile, we also "drink tea" ("un té", o "la once"), which usually implies having tea/coffee with sandwiches and a tart or something, at around 5pm. As all Latin Americans though, we have usually dinner at around 8/9pm
. So if you have tea, you either don't have dinner afterwards or have something light.
I’m glad to hear about the dinner…or té…I’m Chile. I’m learning so much.
And I love that story with your mom. I totally relate. Thank you for sharing it with me. ♥️♥️
Such a beautiful kitchen 😍
Thank you! We put a lot into designing it. A labor of love! 🥰
From and grew up in the UK here! Growing up we generally said “tea” or “tea time” for our evening meal as a family, but for some reason called it dinner when we went out, or had more formal guests over. Used both but tea feels less formal and more homely!
I’m so glad I found your channel, thank you for doing what you do and I hope you have a wonderful time with your guests - I’m currently living in Germany also! Guten Appetit 🥰
Thank you for sharing this with me! We will be in Germany in May some time. We love it there!
@@JeannieBASMR such a lovely time of year to visit!!
Also, I love your artwork, many of my vintage books have been graced by my girls’ art; similar style to yours as well.
Haha! Talent right there! Lol!
I’m located in Vermont, my grandparents used breakfast, dinner, and supper. They ate their main meal mid day. I notice most here now use breakfast, lunch and dinner/supper interchangeably
😁
I love listening to you talk! And you have great hair
Thank you so much. And sometimes my hair will behave. 😁
