- On the 5th August I visited the Shoeburyness Model Railway Exhibition which was being held at The Seaglass,Thorpe Hall School in Southend-on-Sea in Essex.
On display were 24 layouts of various gauges and also in attendance were about 12 trade stands.
The layouts on display were to a very high standard and all exhibitors should be commended for their efforts on the day.
The organizers should also be commended for their efforts as the roads near to the exhibition were very well signposted and also ample parking at the venue.
The venue itself was an excellent choice with a fantastic space for all of the traders and layouts and also with first class facilities.
This part 2 Video features 3 Layouts:
Brinklow N Gauge
Gordon`s Lane OO Gauge
Colju Quay 00 Gauge - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Excellent shots of my layout Gordon’s Lane. It’s nice to see it and allow others to enjoy it. Please do come Beckenham & West Wickham MRC show in October.
I will do my best to attend.
Good looking Class 66!! Sounds good too!!
Sometimes I do like a bit of weathering.
Thank you for a lovely film.
Glad you enjoyed it
Brinklow: beautiful scenery, gorgeous British locomotives, wonderful East Country scenery!! What more could I want?
Answer: Walmington-on-Sea!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Gronk it up!! Lovely little Class 08!! Sounds great as well!! Now for a matter of personal taste, I prefer steam to diesel!!
I am from the steam years but I try to keep a balance of the content. Regarding the 08 I agree with your comment.
Mauve Class 70 with BR Mk1 Southern carriages? What a combination!!
At first It threw me but I just had to leave it it the video.
Class 67, 67007 to be precise. My steam loco was on the front but it, at the time, couldn't manage the coaches as I had fitted resistors to the undersides to activate the layouts track circuits, so it was left off until I'd adjusted the coaches
This is absolutely marvellous indeed this second part of the Shoeburyness Model Railway Exhibition!! My top favourite layout is the Brinklow - N Gauge!
Brinklow is a marvellous layout ,owned by the same people as James Street. Many thanks for your comment.
Thanks for sharing! I live nearby but was struck down with man flu or something which meant I missed it!
Hope you are now feeling better. Many thanks for your comment. This is one of the main reasons why I share the video because not everybody can attend these exhibitions.
By the way, JB Railways, the Hoddesdon Model and Railway Club has its annual August Modelling Extravaganza on 25 August!! We’re based at Broxbourne Mill, at the end of the small car park behind the public toilets.
Sorry that I missed the exhibition.
Lovely second part👍
I saw you also filmed the Great British train show the last two years, is that the one at the British motor museum?
I've planned my holiday this year to attend that one, coming specially over from Belgium, It really looks worth while?
Yes this is the exhibition that is held at the British Motor Museum. I might be attending myself this year if it does not clash with an exhibition which is more local to me.
Gorgeous Blue Pullman!! Is that the LMS version or the Western version?
I do believe it is an LMS version but it is owned by Locomotive Services and the train has been filmed on an excursion to Penzance in Cornwall. Many thanks for your comment.
