Today we play as Felina in Dungeon Clawler and initially want to go for a Recycling Bin only game. While this turns out to be a lot of fun, a couple of flaws become apparent and as I am playing, I discover a fun interaction. Since the Recycling Bins consume all the items every turn, the game will drop them back in on the following turn. Combined with Junk Jet, that deals 1 damage to a random enemy per item dropped in, we turn our items into a machine gun nuke.

hey dex, I have an interesting build idea. Vitamin pill fully upgraded converts strength to block at a 1:3 rate and energy drink fully upgraded converts block to strength at a 2:1 rate, so theoretically if you spam both enough you should get exponentially scaling block and strength. Only thing is you need to start with some strength and block base every turn so that they don't brick.

@r4masami Actually, if you convert the ratios to fractions, it would be 3 × 1/2 = 3/2, where the strength to block and block back to strength would be a 3:2 ratio, which would make you LOSE block and strength.
@@brandonball5063 this is incorrect. Suppose I start with 4 strength. 4 strength turns into 12 block at a 1:3 ratio, and 12 block turns into 6 strength at a 2:1 ratio. Now I have more strength than I started with.
@@brandonball5063 According to OP, i don't think that's it. It seems he said 1 strenght to 3 block and 2 block to 1 strenght wich is overall a positive and infinitely scaling trade. 1S is 3B, which is 1.5S, which is 4.5B, which is 2.25B (S being strenght and B being block). Obviously the game doesn't deal with decimals but it's just to prove it mathematically, since one single extra block should get you going. *Do correct if I'm wrong cause i have never used these items before.* (Also 3/2 is larger than one.)
@@r4masami two items that have to go in at the right order for a 1.5x boost. And if you end the turn with block, you lose it all.
Strength potion is a quick 3x per drop, works with double using effects...

1 cat carrier +
4 laser pointers +
2 heat guns +
2 plastic shields =
11 items exactly
Looking forward to when sound effects get added to this. I'm picturing a *schloorp* effect for the recycling bin that'd get a lot of work out in a build like this.
The big issue is with bin priority. If you have a bin that eats everything else, then it grows huge... but then another bin gets priority and eats that big bin.
@@KuroroSama42 They really should add something that makes it so the bin with the highest damage, gets priority, and if two have the same damage the upgraded one should get priority
@@TheMagmaKnigh or just make bins into a wood item, or just generally not eat each other.
I wish that two bins seeing the same item can both eat it so it scales more fun.
Also the Recycling bins should be Fibreglass. Because Wood has synergies, and metal is magnetic. I don't know of anything buffing glass.
@@anondabomb That wouldn't allow for the bins to be strong enough. At least not when compared to other strategies.
The perfect build is only 1 bin eating your 100-200 items and being a 1 shot of 1000-2000 damage. It loses once enemies grow passed that hp and the bins can't scale further.
And as shown in the video, the plink damage from that artifact and items being added is more impactful. The bins themselves are underwhelming.
@@glenmcgillivray4707 2 ideas I've seen/had:
1. Have the bins scale ALL bins instead of just themselves;
2. Bins eating other bins eat the victim's current value and ability, along with the written value. A vanilla bin eating another becomes 12 (1+1+10) damage and +20 per future eat. 100 bins eating each other would result in 1 bin between 3 000 and 50 000 (depending on order of eating). Not obscene, but good enough for a decent endless.
I suspect the upgraded recycling bin is boosting by 20 for every item absorbed rather than 10 despite what the tool tip says.
Also it seems like recycling bins that are absorbed by other ones will actually re-drop in. Seems like the game doesn't considered it actually *used* for the one use term until you actually claw it and use it.
After looking carefully I think recycling bins that have eaten a bin increase by 20 instead of 10? Maybe it scales 10 per recycling bin eaten.
@@blakeowens5996 I think that even with that, an all bin build wouldn't be viable. Sure a bin eating other bins will scale like crazy, but once that bin gets randomly eaten then you're reset. Next round the eaten bin will show back up, but maybe it just gets eaten again.
It would have to be changed to a "when a bin eats plastic, ALL bins get +x damage".
I was thinking that if it consumed an upgraded item it increases by 20 instead of the 10 the tooltip says, but that also makes sense
omg now i wanna see a junk jet run xD it would also negate that issue with the enemy that spawns in those covid balls indefinetly, i believe every one should also end up damaging it. Edit: Yup just like i thought XD

Yup. Fangs triggers for every Junk Jet activation, which would very much keep you alive indefinitely

22:55 if you skip through the frames you can see that you moused over the bin before the purple ball rolled into it, so it actually consumed the ball + the pill which gave it 20dmg :D also earlier in the video it did indeed absorb around 11 items (i counted 10)
i think if a bin eats a bin, the increase in damage stacks. At 22:55, you can see the there is another bin in the bin, and after 1 item go in, it increases by 20
14:40 it doubles the first item each round, the second hook is still part of the same round as the first one. AKA only the first item droped by the first hook is doubled.
That's not what he meant. It's a big shield+, so it should be giving "15 defense, doubled if picked up alone". Unrelated to the artifact effect you're talking about.
23:02 the recycling bin absorbed the stressball spikes and the damage went from 231 to 251
Given the wild attacks with the Junk Jet, if you had taken like, 2 or 3 of the Vampire Fangs, you would be effectively immortal. lol
I look forward towards a Junk Jet run (recommend count Clawcula)
I feel that swamp would have helped this build significantly. It would have floated all your items except magnets and Midas and gold, making picking up each can alone a piece of cake. It would have also forced the floating items to spread out ensuring a higher percentage being absorbed.
The avalanche of junk was hilarious.
Just as a heads up to make Junkjet build nastier: It also benefits from Vampirism.

All I can say is I want the dev to add a few more mechanics that can hopefully make more ways to scale infinitely.
Bargain is one of those you really need to be building from the very beginning. The sooner you are saving on the cost of everything the sooner you can start building up more coins...spend less keep more after all...
I figured out why the recycle bin sometimes increased by more. Each time a bin absorbed another bin, it added that bin's increase rate to its own. So if three bins were in one, it would get 30 damage per item
Dex... If you exit during a fight, no matter who you fight for how long or if you're about to die, and re-enter the game, the fight will be restarted with different mobs.
23:55 The Hand of Midas is magnetic. The magnet was pulling the Hand, and the Hand was pushing the recycling bin in front of it.
It would be really nice if Recyling bins eating recycling bins either:
- adds the bins entire content
- use the bigger of the two numbers for the remaining bin
It can reset the consumed bins stack in turn

When you leave and re-enter the enemies change. Sometimes I see complicated fights and change opponents for the sake of the run.
@24:00 the hand of midas was under the bin and the magnet pulled the hand over moving the bin into that stack
Interesting. I didn't know that the Junk Jet damage was also subject to Critical Hits; that does seem like there ought to be a build in there of just pushing through a high volume of items through the machine to maximize damage output to all enemies.

i think when an item gets consumed while its being put into the machine it goes back to being able to be put in and keeps getting put in repeatedly until youve hit the max items put in per turn from hoarder
If vampire fangs and junk jet work its nuts but in the long run the enemy health and damage scaling will be the problem
I have an idea for a challenge. Try to make it so that every level beats itself.
Here is how I would try and do it.
Magnets with a few metal items that cause them to fly around when the level starts
A bunch of non metal items to be pushed around and into the slot by the moving metal objects.
Will this work, I have no idea. It may require luck but I would say it’s worth a shot if it can work.

as you said, the recycle bin can end, so you could get a lot of pin cushion, the thing that put itens when you get damage, and some spike balls, maybe 1 vampirism? to counter act the spike balls, and the junk jet will make it a good healing source. Because the spike balls are metal, you shouldn't have any problems getting it, and seeing the video, i noticed the magnet perk doesn't make sense, like, why the others itens don't have one too? The devs could change the "magnets has 20% more range" for something like "all AoE itens have 5% more area", or something like that.

I really hope they change the BGM for this game at some point, to remove the "glorpy" (?) audio that sounds like a faulty audio file or soundcard, however to describe it.
Wouldn't getting the spike ball before the bin work better? Because it should then drop in spikes, which should also be plastic.
Pretty sure the top always duplicates and the bottom always removes on the altar room, or at least so far that's been my experience with it.
Also, why not take vampire fang? It procs off of every junk jet hit. It would help keep you topped up. :D

Junk Jet feeds junks to Recycling Bin, and Because it's empty, Junk jet feeds more. Should it goes with minimalist, because fluffs don't count, though?
It would be hilarious if the dev implement a compost in the game and it can soak up all the poison spores to give blocks or strength.

U should try to get just recycling bins next time if the damage will still combine ull end up with one recycling bin with so much dmg (i tried this a while ago with 20x bargain and went till around floor 70)
Mostly a "for science" idea, what happens if you just have a ton of magnets, nothing else (at least nothing else magnetic) idk how damage would happen but maybe there's something fun there?

should try a dodge build with a few reflects in it, only issue is it can take a bit to kill something but it seams to be hard to die and loose the run. helps to get vampire and poison weapon but not needed. (that that is where most of my dmg. is coming from.)

Tbh just try a heatgun build in general, small items, bigger grabs

Suggest Magic Mirror for both builds btw, Reflect is just good in general so having Every form of reflect on the table, Or a way to shrink objects and get some reflect off, Always a boon ^w^
