Has Richard Wright (totally underrated guy), Nick Mason, one of the best drummers of his generation, and (my favorite) Syd Barrett, one the founding members of Pink Floyd, he was a genius that gave Pink Floyd its touch and made it what it was, sadly he was a huge drug addict.

I think the reluctance of Kate Bush to play live comes from the pressure she puts on herself to create a huge show filled with theatrics and dance and all the tiring rehearsal that involves. This performance here proves that if she wanted to she could do a straightforward show/tour, just holding a mic in front of a live band and singing. It's actually very rare to see her doing just that and it works great.

The Bassist and the Drummer are obvious talents, because they make it breathe with the life Kate's Music deserves. Thanks to Gilmour for making sure our world didn't miss her vision.

Amazing, most artists would down-key a song to make it easier to sing it live. She went UP. Legend.

David Gilmour of Pink Floyd was the one who "discovered" Kate Bush. She had an acquaintance who knew him in passing and they managed to give David a demo tape from Kate. This was while the band was recording the album "Wish you were here". David listened to the tape, was enchanted by her magical voice and lyrics beyond her young years and went out to her parents' house in Kent. There, 16-year-old Kate Bush played and sang 40-50 different songs for David. Gilmour realised he'd stumbled upon a real talent and shortly afterwards visited EMI at 3 Abbey Road and played "The Man With a Child in his Eyes" for the staff. "Yep, thank you - we'll have it." - they replied and the rest is history.

Kate Bush is the pop version of Rush. Just musical integrity that can’t be denied.

You can't compare her to anyone. She's too unique!

@@lenini056 yes she’s unique but there artistic integrities that apply to her and rush and nick cave and the bad seeds that mean you can compare to others rather favourably without saying she is just like them. All 3 artists I’ve mentioned have had mainstream success and all 3 had it based on musical prowess not looks, not charisma but by simply being amazing at what they do, and the fact they all make music that in no way resembles their more mainstream contemporaries and still had long lasting success is just another comparison you can make between them.
