I chose this song to dance with my mom at my wedding. I looked at every "top 100" list for mother son dance songs and couldn't find anything I thought was even remotely appropriate or at all captured the sentiment I wanted to convey. This song is so perfect in every way. It's beautiful, it pays tremendous respect to a loving mother who sacrificed so much, and it's just the right length for a wedding dance. Everyone had tears in their eyes.

This was our mother/son dance at his wedding. That was in August of 2021, now today he’s turned 29. I can’t believe how time passes so fast. I miss those days of holding hands when walking or the day he came to me and said while hugging me “ Momma, how does it fee?”
I said “How does what feel baby?”
He said “Being the best mom in the whole wide world?”
I said “At this moment, it feels really good.” 😭
So beautiful!! I’m listening and crying because my son was killed in car accident in the summer of 2000 so we never got to have a mother son wedding dance. However he was so loved our church was overflowing with people and flowers!!

My son is still a newborn and I sit here rocking him to this song & it makes me hope and pray that he has the life I never had the chance to have. I hope some day when I'm gone he will sit and listen to this song and know how much I love him and how much I sacrificed to make him happy and to give him the best possible life. I'm a young mother and I was told I would never be able to have kids. But I have my miracle in my arms and I cry everyday when I think about all the pain I went through before we found out he was growing the way he should and that he was perfectly healthy. The Lord gave me the greatest blessing in the world and I wouldn't give him up for anything.

My mom passed away many years before I got married and I didn't have any other family left. For my wedding I chose this song to dance to with my friends wife who is alot older than me. Ever since we met she has been like a mother to me. On top of that she lost both her son's within a few years. By us dancing to this song we helped each other that day. The amazing thing is neither one of us cried how we'll never know. This song makes me cry but gives me some great memories at the same time.

We were sitted with mum in that sitting room that was lit with a dieing candle and I cud see how her eyes glittered and appeared watery then I learnt that every woman has that inner struggle and much sacrifices they did for their children...and to every man out there, "Be faithful and be true...show love in what you do and you will just know how you make your mother proud..."
My son and I danced to this song at his wedding in October 2019. It was so beautiful that I cried. He finally found his love and they had their son in July 2021. I cried again listening to it tonight! He passed away on June 21 2022 from cancer. He was just 35 years old. We are all so heartbroken, but for some reason I had to listen to it again tonight.

I rarely comment on Videos but I've listened to this song for years. Reminds my of my mum.. I don't know why. I mean I'm from the UK and she used to sing Daddy Big Boots to be as a baby/kid. Getting married and all that Jazz is meant to be a woman's thing but its all I've wanted. The normal life? Anyway I've been with somebody a few years now whos a lot older than me, she has kids and doesn't want to get married. Shes really an amazing person. Found out recently that my mums cancer is back and terminal which is a huge kick in the balls and for her and everybody else. Scared shitless. Scared that if i do someday have a child (I'm only 25) that shes not going to meet him/her in fact i know she isn't. Its just me living with her. Scared of life after. Just make the most of it with your family, never take anything for granted.
